So my husband and I have been looking for a couch and I found my dream couch here. We came by 3xs, the first 2xs the customer service was terrible. I was even told I should check out the furniture store near montasia because the return policy and refund/exchange policy at pottery barn wasn't good. (FYI I never complained about any policies, I wanted to get additional information before ordering a couch online) Anyways I was angry. We came back again to look at the couch and was helped by an AMAZING employee named Marie. Look for her! She helped us find the color I wanted, took out the measuring tape to make sure the width was what we were looking for. She is patient, kind, and we are planning to go to her only once we purchase the couch and other furniture pieces. Thank you Marie for making our experience so positive! read more

Talked to someone named Marie today, who said she was the floor manager and refused to give me a regional manager with whom I could speak. This is ridiculous when I spent $3500 Sunday and have no delivery date for delivery of my furniture. Either their staff is incompetent or they do not have access to enough delivery people. Very poor customer service, and I informed this employee that I would be sending a poor review. They just do not have competent people or do not care about customer service despite thousands of dollars I have spent at this store. This is unacceptable. read more

No prices on items then server got an attitude when I said no thank you $60 is too much for an LED candle as she was trying to ring me up. It's not my fault you're selling $3 Chinese plastic to gullible people for $60 so please don't get an attitude with the customer when they exercise their right not to buy something. read more

This particular store lacks customer service . I don't want to be the kind of person that attributes rudeness to race but in this case it was pretty obvious. As we walk in and being the only 3 customers in the store the two employees standing there did not greet us . The white people that walked in a couple of mins later were greeted and asked if they needed help. As we made our way through the store the female can over to see what we were doing . Still unfriendly. I was just here to purchase some dishes but this store will not get my business. Just because someone isn't white doesn't mean they can't afford to shop in your store . read more

Horrible horrible service from corproate. I ordered a desk in mid Feb and it never rrived. 5 months later a charge shows up for it but no call, no email no nothing for delivery. So I cancel it and have to pay anyway for the shipping. $150 for nothing. I don't thinkI will ever shop there again and advise you GO ELSEWHERE. It took me 45 minutes, 5 phone calls and a horrible automation system to finally reach someone to cancel this and they were not too happy. The place has gone down the tubes. read more

As I was checking out the person working the cash register gave no eye contact, didn't even say thank you after the transaction. This was my second visit to this particular store. The people working there seemed to be preoccupied with something other than the customer. There is more Pottery Barn things in my house than I care to admit but today reminds me why. Need to get a second bookcase to match the one we bought a few years ago here. Not content to just let us order, CALLED the order department to make sure this would match the finish of the one we have. No luck there so they then called customer service to retrieve our previous order. Sure enough, our bookcase finish has been discontinued and the other one we were looking at is back-ordered until Spring. Then they apologized for not being able to help us more. Before the pandemic I ordered a loveseat from Pottery Barn. I waited 10 months only to receive a couch not a loveseat. They discontinued loveseat and arbitrarily replaced it with a longer couch. Not only that instead of the down cushions couch was half memory foam and half down cushions. I went into store and explained what happened. I liked a couch floor model that had been there few years and they said they would take my name so when they sold it I could get it due to my bad experience. Every year I checked. Today I got call floor model was available and said I would take it. Then they said two other people they had called were in store and one subsequently bought it. So a few years ago it was my understanding they would sell me the floor model to offset I received the wrong couch with mismatched cushions I had ordered previously as a courtesy. I didn't understand that wasn't the case or I would have pursued returning the wrong couch. Just as well. I don't like couch they wrongly sent me and I don't want any more Pottery Barn after today. I looked online today and Pottery Barn has horrible reviews on Consumer Affairs. read more

The women at this store are so kind and helpful. They go out of their way to really help their customers. Sometimes it gets crazy busy but they do their best to be attentive to every single guest. They do a great job of greeting every guest who enters the store and are very knowledgeable of the products they carry. The quality of the products sold at Pottery Barn are top notch. The company really takes care of their customers and honors returns for broken items and even accepts some coupons past expiration dates. They are so kind, I will always shop here! read more

Stopped in the store today and I found a stocking that I needed as I had purchased five and needed one more. They were in the holiday section with a sign indicating 25% off of velvet stockings and tree skirts. SCORE! Take it to the register and Sydney (not sure if I spelled it correctly)associate 390640 rings it up and it isn't being discounted. I told her where I got it and she went to check. The one I got had a velvet top and plaid foot, she brought up a full velvet stocking and it also did not ring up as discounted. She called a couple times on the radio and no one answered, she talked to two different associates and just about the time I was ready to walk out and asked for a business card so that I could contact Corporate, finally someone made a decision to manually override and sell it to me for the sale price. I was told that they were put in the wrong section by a stock person, I was told that they were not on sale on line, I also was told that there was nothing they could do. The Sales Associate took the time and was persistent in trying to give it to me for the sales price as it was the stores mistake. My question and concern - Why didn't the manager come out to the counter and speak to me instead of having the three different associates continue to apologize for the error and say they couldn't do anything without the Managers directive. I live in Las Vegas and my husband irritated with the delay it was taking walked out of the store because we were headed back home. I needed this final stocking and I would have paid the regular price for it, but it was the fact that it had a sign indicating it was on sale and I expected the price to be honored. I think your Manager needs to be retrained and not put the sales associates in uncomfortable positions on things out of their control. read more

I waited a year for a bed... it arrived broke on two occasions due to faulty design. I ordered over $3500 of outside furniture. Everything was supposed to be in stock. I received the furniture sans some of the cushions which were apparently back ordered. After waiting over a month the cushions became no longer available. I asked them to replace the order with different cushions and no charge the extra cost which they refused to do. I am currently negotiating the return of the order since they can't get me cushions and the person helping me is not sure if I will be charged a restocking fee. I have experienced delays with previous pottery barn orders. This will be my final time giving this store custom - they have many issues with the supply side of their company and they do not compensate customers for the inconvenience. read more

I ordered 5k worth of furniture from this company and store on 04/10/19. 5 pieces in total. When I originally bought the furniture I was told that they deliver to my area on Wednesdays and Saturdays which was perfect as my wife and I work 60 miles away from our house every weekday. Saturday delivery was going to work for us. We were given 3 different estimated delivery dates for the furniture. The first date was between 04/16/19 and 04/18/19. The second date was between 04/23/19 and 05/7/19. The third date was between 06/24/19 and 07/08/19. In Pottery Barn's defense, they made me aware that the furniture for the third delivery date was backordered and I was fine with those dates and that time frame. The priority for us was the bed as our previous bed had broken 2 weeks earlier and we were sleeping on only a mattress and boxspring. A month goes by from the original purchase date and we don't hear a word from Pottery Barn. In the meantime I receive a statement in the mail from their credit card company expecting a payment on merchandise that I haven't even received yet. I called the store who then told me to call scheduling. I called scheduling who then told me that they don't deliver to my area on Saturdays. We live in the Antelope Valley. When I called scheduling I was told that I was sent an email about scheduling a delivery and should have received that. That's why the scheduling department thought I was calling them. But it was because I hadn't heard ANYTHING from ANYBODY. Then come to find out that they said they had the wrong email address for me and that's why I didn't receive their email. So I'm going back and forth between the scheduling department and the store manager of the Santa Clarita store. I basically had to threaten to cancel the entire order twice for any kind of action to be taken in order for us to have the first part of our furniture delivered to us on a Saturday. On 05/22/19 I spoke to the Customer Service Relations Manager in the store who said that they have been experiencing scheduling and delivery issues for awhile but they are trying to fix and work through them. When I spoke with both the store and scheduling I asked them to make sure that they had notes in their system explaining the situation about Saturday deliveries so that on the next delivery date there wouldn't be a problem. Our bed and 2 nightstands were delivered on 05/25/19 to our house in the Antelope Valley. It was a Saturday. Delivery went smoothly with no issues. Fast forward to 07/01/19. Once again I haven't heard anything from Pottery Barn regarding my next delivery for the dressers. I call scheduling and once again they think I'm calling because of an email that they say they was sent to me. But I didn't get any email. It is then AGAIN determined that they STILL have the wrong email address for me. I am AGAIN told that they don't deliver to my area on Saturdays. I am told that I will receive a phone call or an email from somebody regarding the current situation for the second part of my delivery. I receive neither a phone call or emaiI. On 07/08/19 I AGAIN have to call the store to speak to the store manager and explain my situation all over again and sort of threaten to cancel the order. I asked if there were notes in the system explaining the first situation to which I never received a straight answer. After speaking to the store manager who said she was going to take care of it I receive a call from another person from the store who basically says "My name is blank, I'm calling from Pottery Barn, is Saturday the 13th OK". It threw me off and I needed a little bit more of an explanation as to what was going on. So she was calling to say they figured it out and they would be delivering to me on Saturday the 13th. GREAT! I even received a Pottery Barn Appointment Confirmation by email on 07/08/19 for the 13th delivery date. I received a phone call from the delivery center on 07/09/19 saying that they don't deliver to my area on Saturdays. I've called the store manager again and spoken to the Customer Service Relations Manager twice since the phone call on 07/09/19. The last time (yesterday) I spoke with the Customer Service Relations Manager he seemed annoyed more than anything about my situation. He's apparently working on a resolution right now to get me the rest of my furniture. In the meantime Pottery Barn has been completely paid for the order, IN FULL. This whole situation has been very frustrating and I have felt like I've needed to chase my furniture down every step of the way. I have had to initiate all contact and threaten to cancel 3 times just to get things moving. My wife says she would have been done with this situation over a month ago. And I believe her. I own a business that is customer service based and to be on the receiving end of horrible customer service makes it that much harder to swallow knowing what kind of an experience it should be. read more

Shopping here for years and have never proven to me they have it together. Several 'ship to store' items go missing. "Well it shows it's here...but we can't find it." Stopped shipping to store. Purchased silverware set that had mismatched pieces in it from a different pattern. Tried to do online return and the woman behind the register quoted me incorrect amount being credited back. They always seem to just be lost. Why does it take so long to a do an online return? Type type typing. It's always so puzzling for them. And why can't I just exchange for something else? And the guilt they put on you when they "don't have in stock" and you say you will just order it online. Response "it helps our store if we order it for you." I have no complaints about this specific store, just Pottery Barn in general. I have had overall bad experiences in ordering furniture from here. Only order if you can wait several months for delivery. I ordered the Sofia extra wide dresser in September, the website says its in stock and ready to ship, and here we are 4 months later, I have yet to receive it. The latest is late a new shipment is coming in on 1/2516. If not in this shipment, I'm going to look elsewhere for a dresser. And don't trust their delivery vendor. They will schedule delivery of an item and not show up. It's happened to me 3 times now, today being the 3rd. read more

I have bought MANY items over the years from Pottery Barn, but unfortunately they do not stand behind their merchandise. I purchased a Manhattan chair with ottoman and Manhattan recliner in November 2005. I noticed after about a year that the leather was very dry on both chairs. I spoke with a salesperson at the Valencia store who instructed me to NOT use anything except a damp cloth on the chairs. I followed her advice and noticed further wear. Six months ago the leather split on the back of the chair where your head rests. I contacted Customer Relations and sent photos of the chair. I was told that this was "normal wear and tear" and they would NOT do anything to fix the chair, but they would send a "balm" to use on the leather to help add moisture. I mentioned that they must have had other complaints if they are now offering a protective balm when the previous care protocol outlined using only a damp cloth. I also argued that if the tear had been on the seat cushion I could understand their point of "normal wear and tear", but a leather chair should not split where you rest your head. A leather chair should last for years. I am purchasing a new home and although I need some new furnishings I will not be shopping at Pottery Barn. read more

Furniture delivery scheduled several days in advance email sent, juggled schedule to accommodate pottery barn delivery personnel. So the delivery time comes and goes and no delivery and no courtesy phone call to cancel delivery. So we call the Valencia store and they tell us, yes your delivery was scheduled for today, but the delivery site is closed, they must not have been able to get to it....are you kidding me! So we decide to just cancel the order after waiting five weeks for an in stock coffee table. No apologies, just a curt we will cancel your order, by the way, that'll take another ten days for the payment to post to your credit card. I will never order furniture from pottery barn again, not even treated like this by cheaper furniture companies, the reviews about poor customer service are spot on. read more

I just found out that the gift card was mailed to the person that bought me the gift via catalog. Great job, Pottery Barn! I am mortified. I have spent hours dealing with this issue. Truly the best Pottery Barn experience I've had. We went in for just a few things and left with much more. Not because of pressure from the sales staff, but because it was such a good experience and the staff was so helpful. They even helped us design a center piece. It was great! I finally got my new Aireloom Mattress and decided to purchase a new duvet to dress it up! I ordered the duvet on line. When it arrived I opened it up, inserted my down, and placed it on my bed. I was disappointed to find that it didn't even cover the sides of the mattress. I called Customer Service and they said it is sized for Full/Queen. I am here to tell you that it would be fine on a Full but is simply too short for a Queen. Queen is the most purchased size of mattress and Full is the least. Why can't they make it to cover the Queen fully?? They suggested my mattress is too thick! HUH? It is about 14-15 inches high which I can tell you is quite typical for a luxury pillow top mattress. I ended up returning it and ordering a King which is actually too big but better than the Queen. Come on PB, why don't you do something about this type of issue, I am sure I am not the only one who is frustrated by this issue read more

I've been having the worst experience with this place for the past few months. We were registered here and after the wedding we had a few things that needed to be returned. They can't give you a gift card in store for some reason so it has to be mailed to you weeks later. I've since tried to purchase sheets 2 separate times. The first time they had to be ordered and they sent the wrong color. Then I returned them.. Waited another 2 weeks for the gift card then went back to make the SAME purchase. 2 days later I got a voicemail from their online order rep. They said there was an issue with the transaction and it had to canceled. He then went on to tell me they had to mail me the amount in another gift card and I would have to go back and make another purchase. Now, I have the gift card and want to buy the same sheets online (to save myself from having to go in store again.) The online system will not recognize ANY of the 5 gift cards I have. I can check the balance on all of them and it's shows the totals but when I attempt to use for my purchase it's telling me to call customer service. So frustrated. I almost rather sleep on cardboard at this point. FML. read more
