Horrible experience. Still battling with them. I had looked at buying kids table and chairs. Finally pulled the trigger. Placed the order. Right after I hit confirm I got a confirmation on my credit card. Immediately discovered I had bought three as there were two others accidentally in my shopping cart. I quickly looked to see how I could edit my placed order. NO LUCK. I then immediately emailed AND called to get the order corrected. 45 minutes on hold only to be told that within that 45 minutes, the order of three tables and chairs had be shipped. This was a Saturday and within 45 minutes from the time I hit the button the order was shipped..,I wasn't buying there statement. I was told that once I received the table and chairs (all three sets) that to call and they will schedule UPS return. I of course had to call. 30 more minutes on the phone to schedule return. About 10 days later I finally see money credited to my account BUT not the right amount. Pottery Barn Kids charged me shipping for each table ordered by mistake on an order I couldn't correct. I'm currently out $100 in extra shipping cost. 30 more minutes on the phone to dispute. The customer service rep takes notes. No outcome, no call back as of yet. I see another call to Pottery Barn. And we wonder why Brick and Mortar stores are going bankrupt. Amazon makes it so easy putting customer first. Pottery Barn doesn't care if they just lost a customer for life or ALL the people I have and plan to share this experience . read more

They did not have my online order (even though the website said it was available for pickup at that location) and were the opposite of helpful after that. Sunday: I ordered a pair of curtains online for curbside pickup at this location. Within a couple of hours I got a phone call from them saying they only had one curtain but-no problem-they'd call around to other stores in the area and get back to me. When I got a text a few hours later saying that my order was ready to pickup, I called back to see if they had found another curtain. Not yet, but the man I spoke with said he had left messages at other stores and was just waiting to hear back from them. I didn't hear back that day but figured it was Sunday and I'd wait till the work week. Wednesday: I still hadn't heard from them so I called again. I explained my situation to the woman who answered the phone and she said she'd had the man I spoke with Sunday give me a call to update me on the status of his curtain search. She said he was on a call but would give me a call before the end of the day or if not for sure at 10:00 the next morning. The day ended. No call. Thursday: No call. I gave up on them and ordered curtains for my baby's room from Target. read more

RUN (unless you have 17 hours to chase things down). Although the associate I worked with in-store was great (and they always have been) I'm writing this review for what happened AFTER I placed my order. If you plan to shop here for a nursery, place your order ASAP after a positive pregnancy test. I placed an order at the beginning of September and all of the furniture was on backorder until mid-November-December. BTW, my original choices were discontinued and that wasn't communicated on the website so I went to the store and felt a time pressure to make an immediate choice. Each time I called customer service they had conflicting status updates. One lady left a voice message saying "great news, all of your items are in and will be delivered." However, when I called back to schedule that wasn't the case. They were kind enough to approve split deliveries since everything was so delayed, but I probably spent at least two hours on the phone coordinating them. The first delivery was missing an item. Corporate didn't realize the delivery service in Chicago hadn't entered the item into their inventory yet. The second delivery brought me my custom breastfeeding chair - but it was broken. Cue another two hours on the phone, emailing photos and trying to chase down a medic to fix it (verdict is still out). The third delivery is the crib, which should happen December 2nd (the day before I'm due) but I'm not holding my breath. If you're looking to spend as much as we did on a fabulous nursery, you're better off going to RH. This process has been awful and there's no way I could have managed all of this if I didn't work from home. Mommies to be, do yourself a favor - skip the stress and go elsewhere. read more

I think I hit up every baby furniture store in the entire city when I was pregnant, except for Pottery Barn Kids. The reason being is that I'd prefer to support local businesses like Twinkle Twinkle Little One*, Lazar's**, etc. However, when my little girl started sitting up on her own I decided she needed her very own pint sized chair. Most of her friends have cute little baby chairs from Pottery Barn so checked out the selection. I was really hoping for a pink chair, but the few pink options were a bit on the cheesy side. Instead I opted for a brown chair with her name embroidered in pink. Much to my dismay I found out that they don't offer pink embroidery (gasp), but they did supply up with the name of a store nearby that could do it for me. The chair sat in it's big box for days while I explored other options at local boutiques. It took just one email to Twinkle Twinkle Little One to find a chair that was a billion times cuter, exactly what I wanted (pink!) and just a tad more expensive than the Pottery Barn chair. I returned my chair to PB and will use the store credit for something else. They do have a few cute things here such as an adorable ballerina lamp that just happened to be on sale. Perhaps I'd consider their furniture for my future children, but personally I think you can find much cuter (and unique) stuff elsewhere in Chicagoland. --------- *http://www.yelp.com/biz/twinkle-twinkle-little-one-chicago **http://www.yelp.com/biz/lazars-juvenile-furniture-lincolnwood read more

I'm so mad I didn't read reviews first. I've never seen more poor reviews on multiple sites than I've seen of PBTeen. Being that's the case I'm just here to add to the pile. Don't waste your time or money here. After delays upon delays the furniture my daughter picked out arrived, damaged and was sent right back with the delivery crew. She cried, I'm waiting for a refund, my attorney on notice. Peace. read more

I have never had a worse customer service experience. My husband and I purchased a glider chair for our new baby to be. Without any notification or customer service whatsoever pottery barn pushed back the delivery date by 8 weeks the subsequently cancelled the order, charged us a duplicate fee over $500 and moved our delivery our from originally August 2020 to January 2021. Every delivery commitment we've been promised has been subsequently changed without any notification to us. We have spoken to no fewer than 8 customer service teams and none of them have been able to help us resolve our issue. I will never shop here again and do NOT recommend it to any other new parents. No reliability or respect for the customer whatsoever. read more

The store has good parking and the staff are pretty friendly. The quality of the goods is average. Personally, i wouldnt buy much more than sheets here because some the materils seem a little flimsy, but i tend to be pretty picky about my furniture. Then again, its for kids, and they will outgrow it, so why spend much? read more

Amy had emergency surgery last week (she's fine now!) and upon returning from the hospital was unable to get comfortable so I searched the different PB websites and found this lounge around pillow on PB Teen which looked like a good option for her to try and recover comfortably. I contacted the PB Teen here in Chicago and the sales associate located the item in-store. After being placed on hold she came back and told me that she was not able to sell the item because it was the floor sample. It was at this point that I told her my wife had just gotten back from surgery and this sort of pillow would enable her to recover and heal comfortably. I asked if she could check with management and to my complete and utter disgust she told me they still could not sell the item because it was needed as promotion to in-store customers. I sent this feedback by email to PB customer service and aside from the awful generic apology, the person actually justified the store's decision and said that it was a "rule" where stores couldn't sell floor samples as they're needed as promo for their online stock. (ha!) He suggested that I should have ordered it online to which I responded that unless ordering online gets me the item that day or even the next (not an option) it did us no good. The PB card we've had for years is now cut in half and will never be used again. To so blatantly deny someone recovering from surgery a pillow due to it being needed for promotional sake is completely and utterly inexcusable and unforgivable. What a shitty despicable excuse for a company. read more

This is one star toooo many for this store and ALL PB , PB Teen and PB Kids stores in general !!!! To shorten a long story! Ordered $3000 plus worth of merchandise thru this store! A MISTAKE!--- They are a clueless, useless bunch and one has absolutely 'NO ADVANTAGE' in ordering thru one of the PB stores , PERIOD!--Items arrived damaged via a supposed White Glove Delivery and Set-up! Multiple phone calls and being tossed around from one person to next! photos resent! ( supposedly the delivery crew took photos too and were to handle things! ...NOT!) Calls to PB warehouse...ALL USELESS simply to REPLACE the garbage they delivered broken and beat up! Months has passed and I have had to place a dispute on this idiotic company and especially the useless store that I placed an order thru to get a 15% discount for my large order to get my $$$ back! The garbage they sell straight form China are over priced for their poor quality! They need to NOT be in business! read more

I just wanted to share the horrible service I received yesterday at the PBK Claybourn location in Lincoln park, Chicago from the store manager (I believe her name was Tina). I came in with a prom stroller I received for christmas for my daughter-one of the wheels would not even touch the ground and clearly it was defective. When I went in the store I was told I would need to by a new stroller because they can not do a return-they would need to send it back and I would have to wait for my $ credit to be applied later. I explained that it was a christmas gift for my 3 year old and that we actually already celebrated our christmas this past weekend and because the stroller was defective my daughter didn't even get to play with it. The lady who was helping me (very rude) called the manager (I believe her name was Tina but not sure. Dark long hair probably over 40). The first thing she said was: if this one was defective then most likely the second one we open for you will be defective as well and that she will not be able to sell it anymore to anyone once she takes it out the box-I said: well, no one will buy it anyway because its not even working correctly as the wheel doesn't even touch the ground. She said: it is a toy you know. I said: yes, a $79 dollar toy that should be working properly. She opened up another box with another stroller (after me asking for it--she did not even offer to try to find another stroller that would work). The 2nd one had a similar problem. At that point she was completely annoyed-she told me that maybe I should just buy a different stroller. I said that my daughter does not want another stroller-she wants this one. What manager even says that in the first place-shouldn't you just apologize for the inconvenience and offer to help by trying to find the stroller that actually had property working wheels?and if some many of them are not working then maybe you shouldn't even be selling those strollers to begin with, and definitely not for $79. I probably spent around $500 these past 2 months on pottery barn kids toys , ornaments etc and the service I received was the worts service I have ever experiences. The staff was very rude and the manager completely useless-in fact I'm surprised this manager even still holds her job. This really upsets me and I might not shop at this location again because of this incident. I spoke with all my mommy friends and a lot of them had similar experiences at this particular store, so I thought it would be wise to share with others who might want to shop there. i would either go to the Old Orchard location or shop online. read more

Five starts for Shelly, an associate at this store who goes the extra mile. Like most moms, I am primarily an internet shopper -- I don't have time to come into the store or make a special trip to the store to order something. I was purchasing a bed for my daughter, and I was about to just order it on the PBK website, but it dawned on me to call the store to support the local business, and to see if there was any incentive to purchasing through the store. Well, Shelly made it worth my while, and she went the extra mile to help me track down guard rails that were, according to the website, out of stock until the end of April. She located and called another store that had them, and ensured they would let me use my coupon even though it technically wasn't valid because technically the guard rails count as furniture. Shelly, you've taught me that I can support local business by using the internet to browse at 9 pm after my kid is in bed, but I can place a call and order from the local store, save money, and deal with a SUPER pleasant sales person. Thank you for all the extra help! read more

It was my first time and very last time that I will ever shop online at PBK. They lure you in with their offer of 15% discount if you sign up to be a new customer at the very beginning of their website and in tiny writing they mention "there are exclusions" but never specify what the exclusions are. After signing up, they provide a code for you to use for the discount. I placed an order and applied the code and it appeared to accept it. After the transaction was completed, I discovered PBK did not provide the discount. I called their customer service and they advised they couldn't do anything as the sales was already processed and suggest to call back when I receive the goods then I will be able to get a credit for the missing discount. The goods arrive and I call back but this time around, they advised they couldn't provide the discount as all my items are on sale and do not apply. Not only do they offer discounts in deceiving manner but their customer service provides misinformation. They really should change their Customer Service title to 'Customer Runaround' because they seemed to have mastered that skill. read more

Worst customer service. A sales rep by the name of Jessica was so terribly rude today. If you're at all familiar with Pottery Barn, the kids version of the store won't be much of a surprise to you. Furniture is beautiful but also isn't very cheap. They have a large assortment of rugs for children's rooms and also bedding. The store is set up so that one side is for babies and the other is for kids. I love the kids selections--especially for girls. But even for older boys there are always some really good selections on bedding and some very nice pieces of storage furniture. I'm not a huge fan of the baby bedding items and even the gliders aren't anything too special. However, when it comes to their mix and match pieces, you can't beat it. They have some really nice soft fuzzy blankets that are perfect for keeping your little one warm in the car seat and a very nice selection of Boppy covers in solid colors. Also, they have a warm fuzzy fitted crib sheet that is perfect for the winter months (why are warm crib sheets so hard to find?). Customer service is always great here and I never have a problem finding someone to help me out. read more

I LOVE Pottery Barn Kids! The the actual store only has a tiny fraction of what they have available online. I have found the staff to be usually helpful. Just beware of the return policy on stuff, Pottery Barn has a tendency to change their patterns and designs rather quickly. I believe it is seasonally. So if you see something you like, you better get the whole set. Although the employee there told me to search on ebay for discontinued items that I might need to complete a set. Which is an option but have noticed that some of their stuff that's discontinued and popular has a tendency to sell over face value :O To complete a set I've had to do that. Their sale items are not allowed to be returned. Boo so ask before you buy if you think you may return it. They also have book readings there and sing along days. Check online for the schedule. I went to a book reading once and it was a little chaotic. The moms all there seem clique-ish and seem to have known each other. So maybe meet friends there for some chatting while the kids listen to a book and run around all of the kitchen area when they're done. read more

Ubelievable. They charge you $250 for delivery and then they are super late without even contacting you. After over a week of delivery delay, I called them TWICE and had to wait over 20 minutes each time to simply talk to someone and figure out what's going on with my order. I am still on hold right now waiting to find out where my chair is and if I'm going to get it in time for my baby's arrival. Delivery keeps getting delayed with no notice. I ordered a bed in April and they quoted a 14 week wait for it to be ready because king size is considered custom, which I was ok with. 14weeks later I call to follow up and customer service say they will check and get back to me. 5 days later with still no contact I call again to find it's been delayed another 7 days. I call again today to find out it's now another 3 days delayed. I have no idea when I will get the bed it's super frustrating as we are now sleeping on a mattress on the floor as the new mattress arrived on time (well done Macy's) so we had to remove the old bed. read more

I went in with my toddler to find a blanket. Walked in, started looking around, no price on the blanket hanging off a crib. No sales rep to be found other than the ones by the registers. Walked around some more, my kid tagging along. Found another blanket on a crib, no price. I asked a woman behind a counter who seemed like she was doing some office work for some help. Hardly looking up and not moving, she said the blanket should be on a shelf somewhere and I can check out the price there. After a bit of searching, I found it but no tag. After waiting for about 5 minutes, I went to stand by the desk where she was working already feeling ignore and getting frustrated with the no tags and her. She looked at me and kept doing her work! I was shocked. I got my toddler and said, "let's go, she's busy". She called out, "I can help you... (something, I wasn't sure)." She didn't move from behind her desk. If you are considering doing your baby registry here, I would advise against it. They make the same promises all the registry places make, about a completion discount, and allowing you to exchange items on the registry for the price paid, but if you actually try to take them up on it, you have to spend a lot of time double checking their work, as theyay claim th discount has been applied when it hasn't, and they seem to do everything in their power to not give you full credit on your returns and exchanges.
