What a blessing that I contacted Swain Co. Mike Smith of the company inspected the issue proposed a fix that included a drainage system and sump pump. He also assured me that they could take care what ever issue they may find down there. His estimate was very reasonable. The work started when they said it would. WHAT A WEIGHT LIFTED FROM MY SHOULDERS. When the three man crew arrived and introduced themselves and the supervisor outlined what they would be doing and when they expected to complete the job. The supervisor, Efrain, and Salvador and Eddie gave me confidence I was in great hands. Now this is something you hardly ever hear anyone say anymore; but I have never seen three men work so hard and professionally as those three did. Efrain kept me totally abreast of the progress with before and after videos. I know I have restricted myself in the past to restaurant reviews as my wife and I are foodies. But I learned there are "artists" in other fields of work as well. Swain Co and their people are one class act as ND I would hghly recommend them for any crawl space, foundation or basement issues. You won't see them advertising on TV like other companies because they don't need to. Word of mouth by previous customer service have kept them very very busy.

The drain line came loose under ground causing my yard to wash away and create a large hole. I have been told since December I was in the schedule to have this issue resolved. As of this week they still haven't addressed the issue. We have now reached out to another company to address the poor workmanship that was provided . The sad part is they had no issue taking my money. May want to get Bids from other companies as this company does NOT stand behind their work.

We needed this done pretty quickly and other companies we had contacted were all booked up. I got in touch with this company and Marty gave me a call back and offered to come by in the evening after he was done with his last job of the day to take a look at this for us. Right then I knew we had picked the right company. As a business owner, I really appreciated him going this extra mile. Marty didn't have an opening until the following week but knowing we needed this done pretty quickly he got there to inspect our basement quickly. He was very knowledgeable and just a great guy! We would definitely recommend Marty and this company for any of your basement waterproofing needs!

I have no hesitation recommending Rick Pauly and his crew to friends looking to do home…read moreimprovement. It's tough to find a reliable, honest contractor in a new town, and my wife and I got really lucky when our realtor recommended Evergreen. The work has always been on time and on budget. Rick's a straight shooter and doesn't try to squeeze you for money. Great experience every time.

I've been attempting to get quotes/information for about a month now- Rick/Evergreen Home…read moreImprovement is very unresponsive... I've emailed and called multiple times, but I've only received radio-silence from his end. On 8/10, I emailed my initial request(s). I decided to call 8/23/18 when I didn't hear anything back. He did answer his call (!) but he wanted to review my email/look over my inspection of my home. On 8/24/18 I emailed him a copy of the inspection- to which he again didn't reply... So, as a final attempt, I called 9/10 to follow up about my emails, and he said he has been too busy to answer calls and emails (due to a storm that happened over that weekend- 9/7-9/10... which it is understandable that he was busy due to flooding in homes from the weather, however I had been trying to contact for 3 weeks...) Any way, during that phone conversation he requested that I AGAIN forward him the inspection via email (which I did that same day), and he assured me he would return my call by lunch time 9/11/18. Guess what- no call or email! This operation doesn't seem very professional, or reliable... Can't speak on the actual work that they do, as I never got to experience that aspect of this business. Update: 2 days after posting this review, I received the email response I had been waiting for. I'm not sure if my review was viewed prior to the response or not- but the email said "I reviewed your inspection and our current schedule of job. We are not interested in bidding you crawl repairs at this time." & they suggested other possible businesses. I appreciate the response at least- but overall, still very disappointed with the experience as a whole. 2 other businesses I contacted earlier in the week responded immediately and I've got in person consultations scheduled.. Stinks I waited a month just for this response, but at least its now moving forward with someone.

    Acculevel - Helical pier ...

    Acculevel

First the backstory: We put a small room addition on our home 20 years ago. The room addition was…read morebuilt on a 4' crawl space foundation, while the older main house it butted up to had an 8' standard basement foundation. Over the years with the freeze/thaw in the ground, compounded by the dryness in recent years which shrinks the soil, the room addition was sinking ever so slightly at the end farthest from the main house ... 20 feet away. Sum and substance, the far end of the dining room had sunk about 1" causing it to pull away slightly from the main house at the roof line. We got five quotes to repair what had happened. Acculevel did the work to earn the job. The field agent for Acculevel (Dan) was excellent; he took his time and really went over the room addition in detail. He agreed with what the problem was and proposed a series of six helical piers on the exterior to stabilize the room and possibly lift it back up. His analysis was so thorough that he also found a foundation crack inside the crawl space that needed repair. Only one of the other firms that quoted on the job went to the effort Dan did. We decided to go with Acculevel. Acculevel was willing to negotiate some of the language on the contract, and this made it fair to both parties. They originally wanted 50% down, but since the job wasn't to be done until six months later in the Spring and they only needed to do permit work and an engineering report, we agreed to 25% down ... with the other 25% when we received a copy of the permit and engineering report. Very reasonable by all parties. Hint: Always read the contract ... because what's in there is for you and them. When the day came to do the job, the two employees they sent out ... Ricardo and Orlando ... were also tip-top. They worked hard and long hours, hand dug all the pits for the piers, set the piers in place and called it a day ... it was a 10-hour day not counting their travel time. The second day they screwed the piers into the ground (a couple were screwed in 17'), mounted the foundation brackets (essentially large heavy duty "L"-shaped brackets), and used bottle jacks to ratchet the brackets up firmly against the footing. After jacking the room up almost back to perfect, they back-filled, tamped, and replaced all the landscaping that had been disturbed. In the end, the room was stabilized and lifted back up to approximately where it had been before sinking. We did not see any wallboard cracks in the interior of the room, which is a small risk you run when you jack the room back up. As the contract stated, the work performed was warranted to stabilize the room, but not guaranteed to lift it back up. We were very happy with how it turned out. If we had to nit-pick anything, it would be dealing with the home office back in Rossville, Indiana. They are often hard to get a hold of ... you end up leaving messages and hoping for a return call. Acculevel serves six or so states and have been growing very fast, so they get some slack in this area. But we were so satisfied with the work and the result ... especially the field agent Dan and the workers Ricardo and Orlando ... we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

They completed work at my home three months ago, and almost immediately issues started coming up. I asked them to come back out to re-evaluate, and when they finally did, that visit went poorly and clearly needs to be redone. Since then, more than two months have passed with absolutely no effort on their part to correct the situation. Meanwhile, the problem has only continued to get worse. I have reached out repeatedly trying to get back on the schedule, and I've been met with delays, excuses, and empty promises. It's beyond frustrating at this point. What makes this even more upsetting is that I paid top dollar specifically because I wanted the job done correctly the first time. Instead, I'm left with worsening issues and zero accountability. Scott keeps saying he's "reaching out," but nothing ever actually happens. I'm exhausted from chasing a company I already paid. This experience has been incredibly disappointing and completely unacceptable.
