Dr. g and Ryan Pyles are great, but the office experience is absolutely ridiculous. They are super incompetent.

Wonderful Doctor. Attentive. Knowledgeable. Everything one would want in a primary care physician.

Dr. Jani has been providing "care" (not "treatment") for my geriatric father for quite sometime…read more Dad's always been a picky guy .. and when it comes to doctors, I'm worse. In my view, generally speaking, doctors have become little more than pill-pushers, completely dis-interested in "dialogue" with their patients. It's worse than aggravating as they're clearly showing they want no patient "participation" unless it's "doing" with their mouth(s) shut. Dr. Jani's interest in the well-being of my father has been well-rounded and long-term. In the past, she's performed in-depth medicine(s)-analysis to validate not just optimal dosages but conflicts as well. Early-on she had him log the times of day, any side-effects and other symptoms for a period of two weeks. She analyzed his information and was able to help him fine-tune his medications. I've never seen or heard of a doctor willing to do this. He's over 90 and they genuinely seem to appreciate having him check in for appointments and my phone conversations with their staff have me convinced they're happy to help in whatever way they can. Dr. Jani would be my doctor if she weren't 500 miles from where I live. As picky as I am about true, professional-grade care, she'd get my vote. Please give them a call if you're tired of what you're getting now. She's a keeper.

Even though I do like Doctor Jani and appreciate her work, I can't believe that she's allowing her…read morecare practice to be handled by a rude unprofessional front desk employee. My wife and I have been patients at this practice for the last 3 years and we usually try to be patient and understanding with the customer service representatives and front desk employees because we understand the load of pressure they can be under from both customers and employers. That being said, this front desk employee has always a bad attitude and treats patients like they are asking for charity or a hand out! We've witnessed her mistreatment but did not expect that our time will come soon because I barely interact with her when I come for my visits. Today I was denied care because I arrived literally 14 mins late to my appointment due to a traffic incident on Smoketown road and because I stood in my car to finish filling up the 11 pages patient registration (Apparently they are getting a new system and all the patients were asked to reregister instead of using the data from the old system). The front desk employee didn't even look at me but just said you are late and Dr. won't take you and you have to reschedule! And kept repeating that! She didn't even let me speak or explain anything even though in previous visits I had waited before over 20mins to be seen by the doctor or to have my blood exam. They even cancelled our appointment without notice recently when the doctor had a family emergency! We never complained or argued even though we took time off work. Later on, when my wife told that employee out of frustration: you just lost my husband as a patient. She responded "You can withdraw your records from this practice as well " what type of health care employee is she? I let you all figure that out! But she definitely needs training on customer service. Really too bad for the practice we love the doctor and lab nurse :(

Worst "doctor" in the United States! What a joke to use that revered term with this man, unless…read moreyou say "witch doctor." Deserves 0 stars. The medical board needs to check this guy out. He completely mishandled the care of my family member. He never saw my loved one in the hospital & prescribed wrong meds. Never checked up on my loved one. He popped in for maybe 1 minute when we were in the ER. He stood in the room, not next to my loved one, smiled, nodded & was gone. He did not talk to my loved one or us. He came in just so he could say he was there so he could then bill our insurance. As I said, he never came to see my family member during our hospital stay. My family member was there one week! He never ordered OT to come get our family member out of bed. Sentara is a disgusting hospital so it's no surprise that they don't take the basic initiative to help patients. The "doctor" should have made sure his patients were being cared for 100%. Nope! My family member languished in bed for 6 days before 1 woman from OT came with a strap to yank my loved one out of bed. My loved one was 89 years old! She walked my loved one for 5 minutes then left. Never came back like she promised. Still, Akrappy said my loved one should leave the hospital. My family member could walk & talk when entering the hospital. U can't leave someone in bed for days & expect them to walk out if there had been Nao care given! Every other hospital has patients up & walking the same day U have surgery. Not Sentara. That's why it's even more important that the tending physician makes sure the patient is walking. Akrappy didn't care. H wanted to release him way too early. During this time, my fam member also was getting fluid built up in the lungs and no one checked. My sister could hear it & demanded an x-ray. Yep! Major fluid! This unprofessional mess of a "doctor" wanted to kick my family member out of the hospital while fluid was in the lungs. Had we left when this jerk wanted us to, my loved one would have died within days. This "doctor" also screamed at me on the phone becuz I questioned the long list of medications he tried over medicating my family member with. He told me he was "insulted" & "how dare" I ask questions since I wasn't a "doctor". He told me to stay in my place! A real physician would never be mad or "insulted" by family members asking questions. It is our right. We care about our loved ones. This guy operates on auto pilot. Just dumps a bucket of generic drugs on patients. Many of the drugs weren't needed. You must be very careful especially when treating older people. You cannot just dump loads of medication on them. My loved one took no meds before entering the hospital. This guy wanted my family member loaded up with drugs that treated issues and symptoms he did not have! Because this "doctor" was never at the hospital to see my loved one, we could never speak with him directly. Becuz we could never speak with him directly, we refused 2 of the meds he prescribed. They weren't necessary for the care & recovery of our loved one. I actually asked a real doctor about the meds while my family member was hospitalized. The real doctor agree with me! I told Akrappy he has a God complex & that a medical degree doesn't make U omnipotent. I also asked him how it was that my sibling -- not a doctor-- knew my loved one had fluid on the lungs & he & all the nurses never checked my loved one even tho' my loved one had developed a wet croupy cough! This guy needs to be investigated. He's aggressive, doesn't listen & doesn't know his patients. He bullies U when U dare question him. Run from this place. Go anywhere but here.

Dr Akrami and Dr Fartash are very kind doctors. They will work with patients to find the best…read morespecialists for them if needed. They have flexible schedules in which they alternate weekend appointments but this is an appointment based clinic. If you are sick or have an urgent visit the staff works hard to schedule you in a soon as possible. For the people in the reviews that complain about them being foreigners, it just shows they are uncultured and don't understand the difference there are in mannerisms between different nationalities. As someone who's experienced working in a medical office for a non profit I can tell you that most time the reviews you are getting are from patients that are not compliant to doctors request or feel as they are entitled to special treatment / medications. My recommendation is you can always take a chance and see for yourself what their office is like. Btw kindness to the staff in any location you go is always best practice and can get you a long way. They are human too and most people don't get paid enough to be treated like they are idiots.
