Giga with sour cream & onion.. so good.
Anne C.

This place has been at Plaza Bonita for a long time now... and it's always busy! While there's a variety of fries to choose from, as well as chicken strips.. original is definitely the most popular. I ordered a "giga" , their largest size, for a few of us to share. It was definitely a generous portion! We chose sour cream & onion for the seasoning and it was soOo yummy. Thin cut fries, they weren't greasy at all. And because their fries are made in small batches, it was basically made to order (not just seasoned to order).. I'd say the price was fair considering the portion and satisfaction level. Lol. It's definitely a yummy snack to munch on while walking around the mall. It was a weekday, around 1pm during summer and We waited about 15ish mins for our order.

Their Loopy Fries with both Barbecue & Cheddar (asked for it mixed together)

A necessity anytime we eat at the mall food court! Always piping hot, fresh and crispy! We love it so much that we even considered looking into buying their flavor seasonings HAHA We think their Loopy Fries is their best item and always grab the biggest size since it's the best bang for your buck! My family always gets it with both BBQ + Cheddar seasonings flavors. Our 2nd favorite flavor combo would be BBQ + Sour Cream & Onion. Typical wait time to receive your food is about 20 mins which is why I put 4 stars, since it's always quite a long of a wait for just for fries. So I suggest if you are going to grab multiple items from any of the other places in the food court, to go put your order in here first then go get the other stuff!

Cone shaped paper. Deceiving amount

I spent over $10 on buying the giga size fries and while we were eating it I was expecting the fries to keep going to the bottom of the container but NO! It stopped because they used a cone shaped paper that doesn't fill up the tub! There was a good amount when you first look at it but the amount is just as much maybe even less than a large fries from McDonald's. Just beware when you buy from here. I'm definitely buying the potato corner powder next time and just going to McDonald's and shake it myself.

My bf raved about growing up on Potato Corner for so long, and I finally came down to SD to try it! Giga (cheese and sour cream): 5/5 This is the ultimate flavor combo for Potato Corner. To get two flavors, you do need to purchase the largest size. They cooked the fries fresh to order. My order was hot, and the flavor was delicious. Service: 3/5 The employee taking our order was very kind and patient. However, the service here is very slow--it can take around 30 minutes for your order to be ready. Supposedly, the norm is to order first, then walk around the mall and hope it's done by then. Ambiance: 3/5 The shop is very small with limited space. You order and then pick it up. There is plenty of food court seating. Some of the materials they use don't seem the cleanest. The self-serve bar for napkins and utensils could be cleaner as well. Overall: I love Potato Corner. Despite the wait time, you'll always catch me coming back!

We missed Potato Corner so much in National City, so we decided to make the drive for some fun and enjoy their sour cream and BBQ potato fries. But wow, the wait was so long, it took almost an hour! I know it's worth it, but waiting that long for a Giga Bite of fries is tough. The servers didn't seem as energetic; they looked tired, which is understandable since they were busy, but it did take away a bit from the experience.

Sour cream and onion fries - Mega size

BLUF- amazing fries but the wait is TOO LONG I've gone multiple times and expect a wait of at least 20-30 min. I know they are known for having fresh fries but it's ridiculous. I wish they would have a text system or something to let you know when your order is ready so you don't have to wait around near the stall. They also got rid of the smallest size which is jumbo so I had to get the mega size. Pricy ~$8 but everything is so expensive these days. My fave seasonings are the cheddar and sour cream. Fries are fresh. Crispy outside, soft inside. I love it so I come back despite the wait. Would rate higher if it wasn't for the wait/order system. Ambience- it's in a mall food court so food court type seating. Plenty of parking at the mall.

We like to come back to this place because it tastes so good, and we crave for it occasionally. But when we came today the experience was not so pleasant. The guy with the tattoos and glasses is super unfriendly, he gave us a lot of attitude when taking our order and while waiting for our order we observed that other customers also got the same unkind treatment. Otherwise everyone else is very kind, and we will be coming back again. Hopefully not to him taking our orders though.

The food has always been good as it is french fries and wings. How could it be wrong right? But what gets to me is the fact it is a 45minute wait and with no assurance of you knowing it's ready. Compared from the local place we have in Vegas, it does gave the wait but there is a pager so u know when it's ready. For this location - they should have one as its location is at the mall and lots of foot traffic and business. The staffing: very unpleasant and the vibe says it all. No smiles, no warm greetings not even a thank you! Goodness. That 45minutes wait? Heck. If not for my son, i wont stay this long.

The best restaurant in Plaza Bonita. I can't believe it's the only one in SD. Long live Potato Corner. ‍‍

Wow, this is a well kept secret here in Bonita California…read more I highly recommend coming here to experience the smoked tri-tip. I had the pleasure of getting a tri-tip quesadilla and it was absolutely delicious. My husband got a tri-tip torta sandwich with avocado and lettuce, etc. Each of your food items comes with a canned soda. I like how you order what you want, then you come to the front and pay for it, so that you can see other things that you may want to buy. Also, you can also add drinks, chips, or other snacks to your order. You can also get whatever you need because they have a convenient market inside of the establishment. Then after you pay, you just go back to the deli counter and you wait for your order. We waited about 10-15 minutes and it was well worth the wait. The tri-tip meat in my quesadilla was very perfectly flavored and the smoke taste was on point. It was so tender and delicious. Bonus situation because this is a wonderful high protein meal. My quesadilla was so big that I was able to save a tiny bit for the next morning as my breakfast. My husband enjoyed his tri-tip tortoise as well. I definitely want to come back and try their other items as they have a full Mexican food, menu, full deli, full butchers counter, and delicious sides available for purchase. Overall, excellent first experience for me.

A weird experience but the effort is appreciated…read more Came in one weekend out of convenience, we were driving around the area and my gf highly recommended it. We parked and noticed nearly all the lights were off. The pastry cabinet was empty, the tables were taped off. But people were inside and customers were in line. Emotions and energy were low, it was quiet and dim vibes all around. We walk in and see just one man working the cashier and making the drinks. He looked puzzled, a bit lost. We get in line behind someone ordering 4+ drinks and see that this guy didn't really know how to make the drinks. He was misplacing the ingredients and wasn't fully confident operating the payment system. The back counter was cluttered with miscellaneous gadgets, appliances, and syrups. It took nearly 20 minutes for the customer in front of us to get from ordering to receiving their drinks and we just watched in slight awe. The guy was apologetic and upfront, he was trying his best in a bad situation. They made some small talk and hinted that they were closing due to supply chain disruptions in Hawaii. I feel for them and wish them well. The coffee itself was ok. Flavor was decent but somewhat unremarkable. They offer different caffeine levels, up to I think 400mg in a drink. I just got the 200mg coffee. Don't know if I just built a tolerance but I fell asleep right after. We did want a pastry but with the baked goods cabinet empty, we weren't sure what they had left to offer. There was a long sign listing everything sold out between the pastries and coffee flavors. Overall the experience was odd and left a slightly bitter emotional taste in my mouth. They've acknowledged that they weren't in the best condition at that point and I do feel unfair to judge them at their worst. If they turn it around, I'm opening to revisiting. But for now, I don't feel compelled to go out of my way for it.

I know that it's probably an extrovert part of me, but the people who work here are oddly therapeutic to talk to and they make the day easier with their questions. It feels like a family whenever I talk to anyone working the cash register. I love the quality of everything at Trader Joe's. I even use their skincare. Highly recommended and comparable to large brand names for cheaper prices. I don't know how Trader Joe's always knows how to get with the times, but they do a good job most of the time getting down flavors/vibes. The ambiance is easy to navigate, very straightforward layout. I highly suggest going before lunch time/after school rush. Don't be surprised if you meet your soulmate at Trader Joe's!
