Not busy at all came in about like an hour before closing on Saturday. Tables were clean and good amount of seating considering it's a small shop in a center. You order at the counter, and they deliver your meal to you. They must get a lot of takeout orders had a lot of people come through in my visit. While waiting for my pho, I noticed the tables smell very strongly of cleaner. Which is nice because that means they wipe the tables, but it was very strong - could still smell it while eating my pho. The pho itself. BETTER THAN ANYTHING IVE HAD IN PHOENIX recently so wow really good already. Broth was clean - not too oily and good taste. Salty and savory can definitely taste the pho spices although fainter than I want to say Pot Au Pho. What I was disappointed by was the amount of meat that came with this bowl. I ordered the rare steak and it came with legit 5 pieces of steak which I mean look at the picture. Overall it was a good bowl of pho, but I think Pot Au Pho is still worth the drive if you can spare it.

One of the things I love about this place e is that the menu is not extensive. They have about 5-6 appetizers/sides, 5-6 entrees, and a dessert. It's vegan friendly as well. Rice in Mobile promises an Asian bistro experience with sushi, but don't let the name fool you --…read moreit's mostly Thai. And maybe they call it Rice because that's about as saucy as it gets. Everything looked promising at first -- nice menu, good presentation -- but one bite in and I started wondering if they ran out of sauce halfway through training. The chicken was a bit overcooked, the vegetables were spot-on, but without any sauce to pull it together, the dish felt like an unfinished thought. The salad was there for moral support, and the gyoza was the one shining star -- crispy, flavorful, and seemingly made by someone who still believed in flavor. It's not bad food, just kind of... indifferent. Like that coworker who clocks in early but spends the day rearranging paperclips. Rice could be great with just a little more passion -- or, you know, sauce.

Anyway for some reason they were on my mind and I decided to drop by. When I walked in there 2 customers who were waiting for their order. I looked at the menu and as always if there are various options I get overwhelmed. This is not a bad thing but I was hungry so I tried to make a quick decision. I went with the house combination sandwich. Why? I believe the main reason because it had pork in it. I really have no idea. I don't really see too many restaurants have pork sandwiches. I mean there are ham sandwiches but that seems different. Anywho, I also ordered fries and a coke. I wish there was a combo meal option but that's not the issue at hand. It didn't take long for my order to be ready. This was a plus because I didn't have worry about being away from my work computer too long. When I got home the first thing I noticed were the fries were very hot. I mean so hot I didn't have touch them to find out. The box was on fire almost. They also provided ketchup packets. The fries were hot and delicious and not too salty. They had a real crunch that I like on my crinkle cut fries. Now the sandwich was a perfect complement to the fries. It was so delicious. I don't have the name of the greens we're on the salad but I'm pretty sure they're used in a lot of Asian dishes that I've had before. The carrots added a little crunch to the sandwich as well. Now the meat part of the sandwich was glorious. The pork and other meats were blended so well with the spices that it created a very glorious taste. It was so good. 5 stars.

Some patrons picked up carryout orders while we were there; the boba teas seemed popular. There's an extensive menu with lots of tempting choices. We weren't feeling particularly adventurous, so I ordered chicken Pad Thai and my husband chose Teriyaki chicken. His meal came with sides of soup and salad, but there was no choice of soup. He was told only onion soup came with the meal. The soup was mostly a salty broth, and not good. The salad was iceberg lettuce with a peanut-flavored dressing. My husband said his main course dish was good. I tried the noodles and veggies on his plate. The noodles were good. My Pad Thai was on the sweet side, and could have used more lime to balance this than the small wedge I was given. The amount of food served was more than adequate. While we were waiting for our food to arrive, a 6-legged friend joined us at the table. I don't get freaked out by cockroaches, but it certainly wasn't expected given the place seemed clean.
