This is the most creative restaurant in SW Michigan, and the chef will likely win several awards. But still it's not pretentious, fancy or with unusual meal choices. Instead, there are many basics but with very interesting twists. And it's absolutely priced right --you don't need to spend anywhere close to a $100 for a great meal. But mostly it's just plain fun. I'm so bummed, we've been waiting for this place to open for years! While it's very cute aesthetically, and has a really nice ambiance, our service was really poor and it was totally overpriced. $12 for a seriously overdone kids cheeseburger and $8 for fries separately? Sort of crazy. The place was definitely understaffed. Our food came out before our drinks did, just all sorts of issues without an apology from our server. I understand new business kinks and a holiday weekend, but an acknowledgment from staff would have been nice. We mentioned to the server about our son's burger and her response was "awww" and didn't apologize or offer to make it right? Really strange. First time diner and reservations at 6:15. We were seated immediately and our waitress explained the menu and gave us time to decide. Our drinks arrived, one was incorrect, the waitress apologized and came back with the correct drink. We ordered the Halibut and was told they were out of it. She gave us another few minutes and on our second order, we selected the scallop skewer along with the market salad. Oh, they are also out of scallops. Salad arrived and it was delicious which we split amoung three of us. Since the restaurant was already out of our selections, we settled for salad and dessert. A friend of mine and I visited PostBoy last week, and were blown away. (By both of our lights it's one of the top 3 places we've been to in either Indiana or Michigan.) On the food side, the hamachi and the gnocchi were particularly great. (The only sad thing is that, when you eat the hamachi, it'll feel like you're destroying artwork.) And on the liquor side, the old-fashioned ("Be Kind, Rewind") was obscene. (Who knew that what OFs were missing was tamari?) The vibes here were also immaculate. Despite the admonishment from the host, we left. we went to Casey's and found a menu made for our hunger. Just beware if you choose to try it, be prepared for small plates and sharing. Food was actually really good and refreshing- we both enjoyed what we had ordered as the short rib and chicken thighs were pretty unique. We really liked the branding and ambiance of the place- we had not seen many restaurants like this. My only gripe was the service- we had put in our drinks and food but the food came out WAY before we even got drinks and our entres came nearly 10 minutes apart. I've never been or worked at a restaurant where they let entres arrive at such different times. Had to ask a busser about 15 minutes in to get some water. At the end the waitress asked if she could take anything for us I said "I'm good" and she proceeded to take my plate I was still eating and stacked it up with all the other stuff she had. First time diners, thought we'd give it a go in lieu of the usual NB suspects. Upon arriving asked if we had a reservation. It's 5pm on a Sunday nite in September in NB and your patio is at best half full and the dining room is virtually empty absent the bar. Asked for a table outside with some shade (sunny day). Not an unreasonable request but the hostess looked miffed that she had to go out and check to see if anything was available. Took quite some time for our sever to arrive and we ordered an Oberon from the online draft beer menu. We were told they were out. It's an online beer menu. Keep it up to date. And why do I need to use a QR code for just the draft beer menu. Ordered beer and two little plates. Food arrived before beer, quite awhile before the beer. Not an extensive menu especially vegetarian options. Overall, the food was good but over priced for the portion and the area. Service was slow, no one had a sense of urgency. Music that evening on the patio was exceptional. When we left people were cordoned off to not allow entry to the restaurant. Almost like having a bouncer at the door where they were checking IDs and getting cover charges. Again, it's a Sunday nite in NB, a beach town. Don't be so pretentious. Definitely need a more friendly vibe. While the food was good, not sure we'd recommend. read more

Love this addition to the New Buffalo scene! The decor is very Cali/tropical/Palm Springs and is the right vibe to kick off any stay in Harbour Country! I love their summer menu. If you love fish, make sure to order the trout tostada. I will come here just for that dish alone. My favorite drink to order is Leisure Suit Larry - a fun twist on a Paloma with a strong grapefruit flavor. The market salad is delicious with unusual flavor combos - I describe it as id blueberry cobbler was a salad! The dressing is delicious and the blueberries and granola work well together! The scallop skewer is a delicious pop of flavors and cooked perfectly (no tip chef mishaps here!). I love the bbq carrots with everything bagel seasoning - brought out at the right temperature with strong dill flavor. The Italian beef corn dog is a great homage to all that is Chicago - no ketchup here - get one to share. Pro tip - secret menu includes a delicious cheeseburger with hearty pickles, perfect if you have a good burger craving! Key lime pie is a great twist and is a satisfying end to the meal. First round at PostBoy was really good. Today not so. Our meal was tapas style by design. We started with their chicken wings which on presentation seemed to be boneless but alas were simply bone in wings in a giant crusty calorie filled cornflake coating. Unnecessary calories galore. The Hamachi Crudo was amazing. The prawn tiradito.... This is why I'm writing this review. It's essentially two prawns cooked and halved and laid to rest in a trio of sauces I can't understand. Each to me was worse than the other. I'm not a food critic but nor am I new to great cuisine. I honestly have no idea what the chef is going for here but do not order the prawns. read more

Ambience, cleanliness and design of the restaurant definitely passes the vibe! However, for a decent size place that can hold a large capacity of guests I would have expected the lunch menu to be more extensive and variety. The menu is too short with each item being eclectic and unique but not a full meal. This is definitely a shareable type of style but don't intend to be full unless you order pretty much everything on their list. I had the prawns which was a bit disappointing for $21. It was not that large to be called prawns and would have made better presentation as prawns if you kept the shell on. it seemed to be blanched, covered in a rice paper then drizzled with chili oil and fruit puree. It would have been a more of harty if there was polenta or some type of carb to compliment. Fries were nice and cripsy... expensive but not worth it for small plates. Atmosphere and drinks is good but not food. read more
