Mr. Hasan Ahmed is skilled, fast, pleasant and serves customers in the order in which they arrive. The price of a notarization, $15, is quite reasonable. I particularly enjoyed when Mr. Ahmed went off on the designer of a form I brought in -- which placed the notarization area before the end of the material being notarized -- and then made it work anyway. read more

I'll be honest I was running a little late for my scanning appointment and didn't have my documents fully ready, so that part was on me. I came in about 15 minutes before closing. However, what frustrated me was that the employee seemed visibly bothered and a bit annoyed while helping me. I completely understand that it was close to closing time, but customer service still matters. A little patience and professionalism would have made the experience much better. Overall, it's a convenient place, just a bit pricey, and I hope future visits feel more welcoming. read more

Typically, when I come into this shipping store, I'm usually allowed to walk up to the counter and drop off my packages. Unfortunately, today was it different? A customer was getting their Lilo and stitch stuffed animal shipped out with the employees help and asked me to drop off my packages at the counter, knowing that I typically receive a receipt when dropping off packages. As I wait, I ask the Customer standing next to me if they liked Lilo and stitch. I was immediately cut off in the middle of the sentence and asked to stop talking to his customers or I would be banned from coming to the store. I questioned it, but listen to him and walked away from the counter and waited my turn. Shortly after the customer before me had left I questioned the worker why did he wanted to ban me from his store. He immediately accused me for flirting with a minor. Not only am I shocked but I am also embarrassed because I been dropping off my package here for 3 years and talking to everyone in the area. read more

This place is horrible. Do not come here. They are not convenient. Charge 4$ to print a single page. They do live scan finger printing but don't even have the actual forms on site. On a hot day they don't have paper towels to offer you. I asked for a paper towel because it was so hot inside that place and the short bald head very small man said for what. It does not matter why I need a paper towel. They don't have chairs. They have nothing! Go elsewhere. No wonder this place was empty. This is your warning read more

This place is great for shipping services. I've been to a few UPS stores in the city to ship goods and this place is way better in every way: they are super fast, the people who work here are friendly and mad knowledgeable, and they work with multiple carriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL). They also charge a lot less for packing. Would definitely come here again. read more

This place produced a perfect passport photo for the renewal of my UK passport. If you have to renew your UK passport you've already discovered that you have to submit an electronic picture meeting stringent standards. The first photo that I got from another place failed to satisfy the Passport Office's computer assessment. This place has a good set-up (proper lighting, good back-drop etc.) and when I submitted it to the computer at HM Passport Office their computer graded it as "good". Sunni was helpful and we didn't have to wait. They charged almost twice as much as the place that tried and failed to produce an adequate photo, but they got me the picture that I needed so I got what I paid for! read more

The pricing for this place is kind of pricey for passport photos ($17.00 for four photos compared to places like Walgreens which is $10.00), but for the service and the attention that he gives I don't mind paying the extra 7 dollars to look good in a passport book that I am paying $135 for and will be using for the next 10 years of my life. Really no complaining there. He was really great and took many photos for me to choose from. I requested to take some extras because I thought my hair was too weird/messy in the first set and he was really good about it. Printed them on the spot. Paid. and left :) Thank you. read more

Horrible customer service. Will never go back here. Owner made me sit outside in the cold windy weather while he chatted up a couple of other customers in front of me for 20-30 minutes. Never even acknowledged that I was there. Terrible, horrible, awful business. Avoid at all costs. Let's face it -- the average office services store (print, copy, fax, mail, photo, etc) has completely wretched service. They gets the job done, but are an unpleasant place to do business. This was different; clean, with a very friendly man running the place, and while it was a bit expensive, it was fast and convenient. No fifth star, because it's just kind of what I expect from stores like this, and not worth traveling to by any means -- just solid, in a line of business where so many stores are terrible, which is why it gets four stars not three. read more

A+ gets an F. DO NOT TRUST THEM. My wife and I needed to get a criminal background check for a visa application to Spain. The owner gladly took our money, and recommended we come back for notary services / apostillazation services to legal the document for international use. We got the document notarized and then sent in for apostillization. A few weeks later we showed up for our visa appointment only to have these documents rejected by the Spanish consulate an now have to urgently drive to Sacramento to follow the consulates recommendation. Shame on us for not triple checking the requirements, but this may have been averted if we were not mislead by A+. read more

Wow. Check out their 1-star reviews. I made the mistake of going in here to drop off a pre-paid FedEx package. I needed to tape the label on, so, smiling, they said they had tape I could use. After I put four pieces of tape on my box, they explain that the "tape services" are two dollars. I tell them that they should have told me that before. They told me to (and I quote) "fuck off". This is a real company? This is how you treat customers? Stay away. read more

Really negative experience here. I went on a quiet Friday morning and waited behind someone doing a passport picture. During my service, the attendant stopped serving me/handling my paperwork and served other people whenever they walked in. Even with no line, it took close to an hour with the constant interruptions. He charged me $75 for expedited mailing which were never delivered. I then received notice that A+ misfiled the paperwork and falsely advertised their services. When I emailed, called, and visited the shop, they were unable to correct. Not recommended -- go to the one at 1909 Mission St instead. read more

My son and I needed to renew both US and UK passports. After seeing good reviews we came here to get the appropriate photos taken. The man that helped us was incredibly helpful and did a good job dealing with a six year old who struggles to sit still. He was in fact so helpful, that we came back once we'd done our remaining paperwork for his help in getting the documents to the appropriate agencies. Again, he made the process very easy and everything went very smoothly. This is definitely now my local destination for these kinds of service. read more

I came in today and saw how an Indian guy behind the counter was being brutally racist to a black man, asking him to leave the store because he said "was not wearing a mask" when I was right there and saw that the person was indeed wearing a face shield (which it is actually best) I saw how him called the police and pushing a button underneath the counter. Because of the stupid, evil, I'd-rather-stab-myself-in-the-eyeballs-than-deal-with-this-agency's bureaucracy at the California State Speech Language & Audiology Board, I had to get re-fingerprinted on a different form in order to get my license. (Why they couldn't tell me that I needed to use this form when they first received my application is beyond me.) I need that license in order to work. While I've enjoyed sitting around on my ass this past month, waiting for my paperwork to go through, my bank account has not. So the prospect of waiting around another whole month makes me more than a little anxious. Anything that can help expedite this process certainly helps me chill. After calling around various live scan places, this was the only one I found that could take me the same day. Yup, this afternoon, I walked right in, they took me immediately, faxed the paperwork to the board and I was out of there in 10 minutes. I would like to send these guys to work for the state to teach those dunderheads a few things in matters of efficiency. I used to think the best photographs of me were professional studio shots or tintypes. Boy, was I wrong. Who needs a fancy setup when a nameless photographer can do a better job with a digital camera in 40 seconds? The reviews of this place are all true. Fast, courteous service. Multiple shots to choose from. A mirror. A polite photographer asking sweetly whether I found the first round of shots "workable" (I did). Twelve dollars later, I had not only the best passport photo of my life, I also had one of the best photos taken of me ever. If I didn't already have a reason to travel, I sure do now. read more

This very unassuming storefront on busy Mission St. offers the usual mailing, fingerprinting, and notary services. Run by friendly, professional folks, A Foto also serves as a great place to have a few passport photos snapped. Not only do they offer a deal on photos (4 for $15), they really do want to make sure you're completely satisfied with the results; mirrors are available to adjust yourself pre-pose, and they even make suggestions for the best shot. Granted, it's only a photo, but it's a photo you'll have to live with for years to come. My one gripe is that after several shots to choose from, I'm still not totally satisfied with my picture. But I can't blame them for that. It's not their fault they can't cure ugly. read more

This place is the best... I needed a passport photo, so Yelp told me to come here. I walked in, the location is pretty big, and when I got there around 230 on a Monday, it was empty. Hassan warmly greeted me and within just a couple of minutes we were taking photos for my passport. The best part was after the images were taken, he handed me the camera to flip through and pick out the one I liked the best. When I didn't like any of them, I shyly asked if we could take one more. We took a few more, and again he let me pick. Yay! I still look stupid straight on, but this isn't a myspace picture, so its ok. The turn around time was less than five minutes to print them. In the meantime, he was really nice and made interesting small talk. It was $10 + tax for my 2 passport photos, and he threw in two more just because... Conclusion - Fast, friendly, and cheap service! Wowza! I wish I had a reason to come here more often and give them my business! read more

Thank you Yelp for bringing me here. The day before, i went to Walgreen's thinking, how bad could they be? OMG Walgreen's was bad. Really bad. At Walgreen's, they take a photo of yo under florescent lights, with a cheap camera. Walgreen's staff then lighten the photo so that the background is white. The final result? You will look jaundiced, faded and ugly. That was my experience. I decided to try again at A Foto. What a great experience! The man who helped me was very nice, took the photos with a decent Sony SLR camera, and let me choose which shot from the 12 or so that he took. The photos were terrific. He even gave me an extra photo for free as I mentioned Yelp. How's that for service? If you need nice passport photos, don;t go anywhere else! read more
