Nothing but problematic and incredibly frustrating…read more In August and September of 2022, we had to be out of down for several weeks. Our house sitter failed to bring our mail in as instructed. So it built up in our mailbox. A letter carrier pulled it and apparently had our address listed vacant in the USPS's database. So ALL mail was returned to senders. We've made 4 personal visits (and multiple attempts to reach the Northridge Branch by phone, which they seldom answer) and were assured each and every time that the problem had been solved. It wasn't. Our mail was continuing to be returned to the senders. This caused us to be charged returned mail fees by our bank. We were forced to contact dozens of others senders to get new copies of donation reports, new debit cards because the originals were lost in this awful system, scrambling to find critical medications from our mail order that were tied up in transit, and a host of other serious problems. I finally contacted the USPS District Office in Cincinnati where a complaint report was taken. Within a couple of days, we received a handwritten note from one of our mail carriers explaining the problem was with the database that controls mail sorting. Magically, I also received a call from someone who identified himself as the branch manager saying that he personally was updating the database that very day. So, here we are months later, long after the database was supposedly corrected, and some of our mail is STILL being returned to the senders. Phone calls to the Northridge Branch are STILL not being answered. And, I'm not wasting gas driving over there again about this matter. I have another call into the District Office again. Apparently, the District Office now doesn't have enough staff to answer its phones as its automated system forced me to leave a message. In all the years I've dealt with the USPS, I have NEVER had such terrible service. And it's an organization that exists to provide service! When Louis De Joy was appointed Postmaster General, he made it clear he was going to dismantle the USPS. He came from the package delivery industry, and it's clear to me that he wants the USPS's services to be taken over by the private sector where profit is king. If this is any example of what his leadership means, then he's succeeding.

The guy behind the counter said, "I can almost 100% guarantee you we'll be less than $150.!" Boy was he right. He helped me get my stuff out of the large box and put it into a smaller, less expensive to send, envelope. He was patient and made sure I filled out the customs form appropriately. What I noted too was that when he was helping me a line of 3 others gather and he took the lady behind me promptly while I was finishing up the minor details of labeling my envelope. I find you don't often find this kind of efficiency everywhere. As the person holding up the line, I was glad he was good at multi-tasking for the people behind me. $22 and out the door with my package on the way to Germany! I'll look to the USPS to handle my shipping needs and head on down to Bellbrook where they're nice AND efficient!

The response I got was that my package arrived at the 45459 post office on 3:34pm on 14May19. The 45459 post office is co-located with the destination post office 45458. Lori is the manager. I called Lori and asked where my package is. She replied (repeatedly) that she had no system generated scan of my package arriving at the 45459 post office. How can this be??? How can ASK-USPS know that the package is at 45459, and arrived at 3:34pm on 14May, and Lori can't find any record of it? This same sort of event has happened so often that I cannot count them all. I truly believe this is the most poorly run post office in Ohio. Please look into this. Please audit this post office, or get someone in there to clean house and get the post office running correctly.
