Nobody likes going to the license bureau just because of the hassle the waiting in line the wondering if you got everything that they're looking for and expecting in order to give you a drivers license or renewal plates or whatever I recently relocated from the West Coast and had a very bad experience at the license bureau down in Franklin so when I was in the process of getting my Washington drivers license converted to an Ohio drivers license, I made sure all my subsequent visit that I did not return to the Franklin office because the people that work there Were very unfriendly not knowledgeable. Gave me incorrect information. It was a completely different experience at the Centerville location as the people that work. There were extremely friendly very fast, very efficient and very accurate with the information on what I needed and got me through the process really quickly and painlessly. Started out with a problem getting tags renewed, that was an error on the BMV's end. Brought documentation to prove their fault. They needed to FAX to Columbus the documents, and tried to charge me $10 to send a FAX!! I told them no, I was not going to pay more money for them to clear up THEIR mistake, and IMMEDIATELY got attitude and a dismissive gesture from the b I t c h behind the counter. Let me preface with my experience with out of state licensing and plates is having moved to 5 different states in the past 6 years. Based on my experiences, this has to be the cleanest and most efficient office I've visited. Any given visit I've been in and out within 30 mins or less. They are clear and understanding on what is needed or what may be confusing when it comes to what we need for drivers licensing to registration. Sounds weird but I actually haven't dreaded having to get registered with 2 cars then transferring plates due to selling/buying a new car. Kudos to ya'll! read more

First time at this location. Needed to transfer my plates on a Saturday. Yes, I know... what was I thinking. I drove around and saw the inside waiting area, aghhhh. Packed!!! But the show must go on. I noticed a sign for drive-thru services. Guess what? One of the services that could be done via the drive-thru is the transfer of license plates!!! OMG! I drive around slowly and there are ONLY 2 cars in front of me. I cannot believe it. I drive up to the window and the representative was extremely friendly, answered all my questions, and gave me step-by-step instructions. She even reminded me that it was an extra $3.00 fee to utilize the drive-thru services. Umm, sorry ma'am are you not aware of the crowd in your lobby? I'll happily pay the $3.00 + $4.50 to transfer my plates. I left a happy camper. Wish all of my experiences at BMVs (DMVs) across the country were this pleasant and effortless. read more

Amazing BMV. My go-to anytime I need one. I went first thing when they opened and there was already a line waiting for them. I had to log into the iPad and wait for my number but was helped within 15 minutes. Jordan was amazing!! BMV website is SO HELPFUL. I highly recommend using it or giving their office a call ahead of time. She was able to verify my paperwork within 2 minutes and got me out within 10 minutes. This team was seriously so focused and handled any troublesome patron with ease. You can tell they take their job seriously and want your time at the BMV to be as painless as you do. read more

If you have your paperwork and proper IDs to receive a license this is certainly quicker than my previous state I resided in. It's easy to secure a wait in line via their website to get in and not wait as long. They are using social distancing currently and require masks. I find the people very helpful and generally good about assisting between floating between the side for title documents and the plate stickers. This is my complaint that you have to ping between the two but if you go to the right you don't have to wait in line again on the left when you return with your title. I definitely appreciate their system better than the DMV I had. That was an all day experience nobody ever wanted to incur. read more

I am one extremely satisfied customer of this license bureau for several years and have never been either disappointed or disrespected. On my last visit earlier this month and to say the "joint was jumping" is putting it mildly. The staff, as per usual, was friendly, courteous and most helpful when necessary. Never in my years would I have thought I would write a review for a BMV, let alone a positive one, but this place is so great. I came in at like 12:30 on a Saturday (they close at 2) and thankfully Alan was making rounds to see if everyone had the right documentation. Of course I didn't, but Alan said go get your documentation and we'll put you back at the front of the line. I came back around 1:15 and it turned out there was more to it than I anticipated (I was switching my car plates and license over from CA) but it was no problem for Alan. He even ran out to my car with me to fill out the form needed for my title and took me over to the title office (which closed at 1:30 and we got done just in time) to make sure I got everything I needed. I'm so thankful for the whole team being so helpful and nice despite me being clueless as to what I was doing. Thank you so much!!!! read more

You go in, take a number, sit down and wait. As Government offices go not too bad cause they're as friendly and efficent as they're allowed to be. They ask every person "do you a problem with alcohol or drugs." It might have livened things up if someone had said Yes. But no one did. Doesn't HIPPA prevent this from being a public question? This place is going to be crowded most likely, especially in light of OH new driver's license policy that took effect 7/2/2018. Make sure you have all documentation that i needed for your transaction; if you want a compliant DL you must have all of the required documents - if you don't you will not be able to get one. It is not the clerks' fault, it is required by Homeland Security. The clerks here are all very friendly and try their best to get through the waiting customers in an efficient manner. Don't blame them if you do not have everything you need. Tip: this location has a drive through window for transactions other than drivers licenses. Open M-Th after 4PM. read more

This BMV is amazing!!! My husband bought a new car so we went to Centerville BMV to get title and new plates. We were literally only there a total of 10 minutes on a Saturday at noon!!!! This was after we were very irritated after leaving another BMV that was somewhat closer to us, but the line was around the block; So, we went to this Centerville BMV instead, we were in and out!!! And they have a drive through! didnt even have to get out of the car! Amazing!! read more

I usually go to the BMV in Fairborn and they're always really rude and make me feel like an idiot. This year I waited too long and had to go to the Centerville location before work. I was expecting grouchy attitudes but the lady who helped me, Aimee was excellent! I could tell the other woman working was very nice too. I was in and out with my new license and stickers within about 15 or 20 minutes. I was very impressed and I'll be going to Centerville every year. read more

The staff who serviced my wife today for her driver's license were extremely unknowledgable and gave us wrong information, insisting on a copy of her Social Security Card before they could process her. We had not brought that because we had already spoken to BMV before coming and were specifically told the SSC was not required. However, these stupid ladies insisted on the SSC. When I got online and showed them a list of about 30 documents accepted by the State of Ohio in lieu of the SSC, they were surprised and tried to defend themselves by saying, "Oh, well, we assumed you only wanted to know about the SSC." Um, sorry, but isn't your job to provide information to customers? By that time, the BMV was closing (we'd arrived 45 minutes early, that's how long this whole run-around took) and they wouldn't stay longer to finish the license they'd started, making us return the next day. This is the second time I've had issues with this staff at this BMV, also relating to document misinformation. The first time my wife got her temporary permit, they gave us a list of documents we'd need, only for us to return to have another staff member tell us we needed something else yet. Back and forth, back and forth. My advice is to just bring the original of every identifying document you can think of, because you cannot expect what these folks will tell you they need. read more

I came on a sat. Place was packed. Way it goes if you wait until last minute. Employees are nice. My complaint is they let people run home to retrieve needed items then basically come back and bypass the line. They need to change that policy. It is frustrating watching people get out of their car and basically walk right up to the counter just because they were there earlier. We've all been there before. read more
