Post Haste Handyman responded to my inquiry same day and scheduled appointment for within 2 days. They were able to estimate cost based on photos I sent. Work cost less than half of other company quote saving over $300. Work was done quickly and looks great. Work was to reinstall piece of siding blown off by wind and secure a loose outside door frame. Waste of time! I met with the business owner and reviewed with him the work I needed completed and within a couple weeks I received the quote. However, upon reviewing the quote, there was an item missing and a couple changes I wanted to make. I talked with the owner about the changes, as well as the items they forgot to include on the quote, and 2 months of waiting for a new quote and several phone calls later - I still have nothing from this business. I had the innards of two toilets replaced. The tech was prompt, professional, and efficient. He made several adjustments to the toilets so they wouldn't bang into the wall, which I never even noticed. The price was fair and they stated their sourcing policy upfront, which I've never seen a contractor do before. They were also quick in supplying a certificate of insurance for my condo association. I have no hesitation contracting with them for some other work I've been putting off and would recommend them. read more

We had several small projects that we wanted done, including hanging a piece of art in the stairwell which required a ladder that could stand on an uneven surface (stairs, duh). Marco was great. He went about the tasks in a professional manner. A couple of the projects will have to wait until special parts can be found, but the work done was spot on. read more

We had three companies bid our project to replace two single sink vanities and replace one walk in shower door and while Post Haste was not the least expense bid we selected them to do the work. Our work was scheduled to begin on a Wednesday, but we received a call on Tuesday afternoon telling us they would not be able to start until the following Monday. On Monday two workers arrived just before 8 am one was an apprentice/ trainee and after getting set up they informed us their boss did not properly prepare them for the job and would have to go out to get supplies. About two and half hours later they returned and started uninstalling the first vanity and installing the new vanity. The work stopped for the day at about 3:30pm and only the first vanity was installed but plumbing was not connected. The next day no one showed up and we received a text message from Mike saying the guys would not be able to make it today because of the weather. The following day two workers arrived to finish the plumbing on the first vanity, install the second vanity and replace the show door. After the second day the first vanity was installed and the shower door was replaced but the second vanity plumbing was not connected. We received a call from Mike saying he misquoted the project and would have to charge an additional $300 because the project was more difficult than he thought it would be. I was not happy to hear about the price increase but said ok because we needed to get this project completed. The third day no one showed up to finish connecting the plumbing on the second vanity and after calling the office and Mike I received a call from Mike saying he wasn't aware the second vanity plumbing wasn't connected, and the project was a lot harder than he expected and we would have to pay an additional $1,700 more than the original estimate to complete the project. I told Mike I would not have agreed to do this project for that cost and did not approve the cost increase. Mike became unhinged and replied in a very unprofessional manner saying I don't have to agree with a price increase or approve anything I just have to pay the invoice. A worker did show up at 2:45pm to hook up the plumbing on the second vanity, a task that took less than an hour. We then received an invoice a few days later that is 68% higher than the agreed upon estimate. read more

I would NOT recommend based on several factors. I should have bid out the project. Originally I had multiple projects that were projected to take a week. I reduced it down to one project - would allegedly be less time and money. Their business model charges by the hour and the customer is basically at the mercy of how skilled the craftsman is to complete work in a timely fashion. I feel as if I was completely taken advantage of. In hindsight, I should have proceeded differently but it's a learning experience that cost me dearly with my bank account. Although the owner reduced the bill somewhat, it still was outrageous in my mind and I will never recommend nor use their services again. read more

The office staff took my call right away, scheduled service for the exact same day, and even called to let me know they would be 5 minutes late. Mike knew the issue instantly and fixed it right then and there. This kind of service is so rare nowadays. I contacted Poste haste to have a list of minor repairs completed. Scheduling was horrible. After numerous phone calls finally got appointment for the estimator to come out and look (not work on) list of items. The owner who came out to perform the estimate said someone would be back in approximately 2 weeks to complete. Scheduling issues again for several weeks, with no communication on their end. They finally set a date, and then cancelled a day prior. 10 weeks of wasted time. The only reason I gave higher than 1 star is because they were polite. Very ironic given their name is Poste Haste! **READ THE FILTERED REVIEWS** I recently used this service and had a pretty bad experience. As a first time customer I was looking to get some basic handyman stuff done around the house- new hinges on one kitchen cabinet, a couple of handles replaced on kitchen cabinets, new storm door closer, etc. It took Craig a couple of days to come out for an "estimate" where he breaks down the costs- be aware that they charge by the hour- so you are at the mercy of the competence of the handyman. A couple of weeks later the handyman showed up around 9am- I left for work around 10:30am and he looked about 1/3 of the way finished which was to be expected for the basic services he was completing. My husband left the house around noon and said he seemed like he was wrapping up. I later received a bill for over $700 for over 7 hours of work. When I called back shocked at the cost the receptionist Anita was very rude and condescending. I asked her how some basic work that shouldn't take more than a couple hours took 7 hours, she explained that the handyman went to lunch for an hour, I asked "Am I expected to pay for that?!" and she said "No, I will adjust that off" The new balance was still over $700. I asked to speak to Craig the owner. I got a call back a couple days later. Craig was also rude and condescending on the phone. I asked him how he could charge that much in labor for a job that only required $22 in parts! He said that was their policy. I explained that the cost of the parts reflects that this was not something that required that much time or labor. Eventually he agreed to adjust to bill to over $500 which was more fair but still inflated. The final straw was yesterday when the storm door closer broke off the hinge and now my storm door does not close unless it is forced shut. I called and let them know that the shoddy work that I paid for needs to be fixed- still haven't gotten a call back. Overall, based on my experience, I do not recommend using this company. Poor customer service and shoddy work. read more

We had an addition built and a new deck installed last year. It was the first experience I have ever had with a contractor that delivered everything they should on time, in budget and to the standard we expected. In addition and one of the most important aspects of their work was that they were extremely clean and respected my property while under construction. We used Post Haste Handyman for years when it was owned by Craig Postelwaite. I recently had the new owner out to bid on a job. It was a small job which I described up front. He came out to look at it and thought it would be no problem. In order to make it worth his while, I also asked him for a quote on a few other small projects. I didn't hear from him for weeks, despite a reminder call. I eventually got an email back from him 5 weeks after he came out saying that he couldn't do the job and had no other resources for me. I am really disappointed in his follow up. This never happened with Craig and Anita who always kept in contact, even if they couldn't get out right away. read more

On the positive side they did come on reasonable time and did the work expected. On the negative side they over charge and have a very entitled attitude. Billing was for time, material and people which appeared fraudulent for eg. a 20 minute job I observed was billed for 4 hours. When I pointed that out, he got irritated and gave some lame excuse and refused to revise his billing. I could have had seven star builders for the price they charged and I want to caution others about it. read more

Wow, where to start??? D.K.'s post of 3/9/11, and the anonymous author from the previous post from 2/14/11 have Mr. Postlewait down cold. Had a very bad experience with him at one of his his many previous " business endeavors", and wish I knew then what I know now. Shoddy workmanship (paper thin drywall), high school vo-tech execution (crossed hot and cold water lines in the bathroom sink), not even builder grade/entry level quality of work (can you say caulk gun to cosmetically hide major flaws he's too cheap or dishonest to fix correctly). Took a $1000 returnable deposit that was due to be returned at the conclusion of signed contract (what a joke !) and was not because he did not have the funds to do so. Disappeared like a coward, filed for bankruptcy as indicated, and then refused to accept our calls to inquire how the matter could be resolved without taking legal action to no avail. Bit of advice for future customers of Post Haste Handyman and/or Pendulum Solutions LLC, "run fast , run far". read more
