One of the most gorgeous interior decor stores I've seen...and I seek them out wherever I am. Wide array of goods... luxurious, unique, and beautiful! Pricey, yes... I totally agree with all these BAD reviews! Anyone I ask about POSH, always has the same thing to say....."Awful customer service. The staff is rude and snotty." Saw merchandise I can buy at Home Goods! Way over priced, store is so crowded you can barely move around. I had a bad experience at the other POSH shop years ago, well nothing has changed! Who would shop where they are treated so poorly? NO one! The fact that they are still in business is a mystery. I don't care what you sell. I will not be EVER shopping there again. As a new resident to the Northern Virginia area, and a new homeowner I was excited to stumble across this shop during an afternoon of home-decor shopping with my mom. Upon walking in I was amazed with how gorgeous everything was and was excited to explore and maybe even pick up a few items for my home. Long story short, I walked out of the shop feeling terrible about myself (as did my mother). While browsing the shop I started to take an i-phone photo of an item to send to my husband as a possibility for our home -- the sales person ran over to me and said "There are no pictures in the shop, if you need to leave..." At that point I apologized profusely since I hadn't seen any signs indicating there were no photos allowed (and did the woman seriously just ask me if I needed to leave?) The rest of our time in the shop involved being followed around by the different sales people (this was the least of what bothered me) and then being scolded for paging through a wallpaper book that was located in a room with no sales person present -- we were told we needed to "make an appointment" -- again, no signs indicated we were not to look through the books on our own and if there had been, we clearly wouldn't have violated this policy. The most unfortunate part of this entire experience is the fact that not only was I spending the day looking for items for myself, but I was also visiting local businesses to consider for an upcoming feature in a very prominent, national home design/lifestyle magazine (which I work for). My boss, for lack of better words a celebrity, someone "Posh Too" would've been thrilled to have visit their shop, would be disgusted with the service, and after my experience there was no way I was recommending a visit or feature. When I receive great customer service I am always the first to write a letter or review of praise, and it's rare that I write such negative reviews, but when someone who can easily afford the items in the shop leaves feeling as though they are being "scolded" or judged...well, it's just sad. Posh -- I'll be letting all of my friends know about my terrible experience. PS: Your response to another reviewer's notes about your shop, calling them "unjustified" and describing Yelp as a place for anonymous bullying, well, that seems silly now, doesn't it? Your response certainly sounds as though you're attempting to justify your (and your sales team's) bad behavior by placing the "blame" on the customer -- what a shame. OMG. After reading all the awful reviews about the way customers are treated, I just had to go and experience it for myself. I discovered this store on the web as the only one in my area that carries Mark Roberts fairies, which I love. While I wanted to see what they had, deep down I really just wanted to go and see if I would treated as poorly as some of the other reviewers. I was ready to have a little fun with it, but later decided I'd better take my husband with me as back up (we are in our mid 50's). The minute I walked through the door, I felt like I was entering a wonderland. I have been to a lot of nice stores and seen a lot of nice things, but I have never seen so many beautiful, exquisite, high quality things in one shop in my entire my life. We were greeted by two nice people, a thin man with short gray hair and a young woman with long dark hair. After greeting us and asking if we needed any assistance, they basically left us alone - we were not followed around like some others have mentioned. Everything in the store is beautifully arranged and coordinated ~ The place is huge - it's just room after room of the most gorgeous home décor and gift items you can imagine. I was expecting everything to be outrageously overpriced, but it wasn't. The prices were reasonable ~ things I could actually afford. There was only one room where I felt I was being observed by a staff person. It had handbags, clothing accessories and lovely costume jewelry. Aside from that, my husband I were pretty much left alone to explore and we stayed for over an hour. I didn't buy anything that day, but I will be going back again. We have worked with Mary Anne and the staff at Posh on various decorating projects over the years, most recently she took on the renovations and decorating of our second home in CT. The redo turned out beautiful; she is a talented designer. She and her staff were there at every step of the way to ensure the success of the project while staying within our budget. If you have not had the opportunity to visit her shop on Maple Ave, please do so; it is quite a treat to experience the aura or her decorating ability. I have been going to Posh for about 4 years now. What is great about the store is the design help and support you receive. Most other stores require you to try and figure out what furniture looks good with accessories, but whenever I shop there, I walk away with tons of potential ideas. I have been fighting with Posh for a month now trying to get back my money. I received a return check notice from my bank and out of concern I went to Posh to see if they had the return check. Jackie the manager and owner MaryAnn (not sure of the spelling) called their accountant who said they were unable to find the check. I gave them all the info on me and said since their bank may resend the the check that I would like to hold off until we see what happens. I was then threatened with late fees if I did not pay that day. Jackie gave me the total amount due which included 35.00 for return check fee. I offered to pay that day with my debit card but Jackie would not accept it and that I had to go to my bank and get a certified check. I did what she said and went home regretting paying them thinking that the check would be sent through again. Guess what? The check was sent through again which caused another check to bounce. I have never had a check returned in my life and living on limited income and disabled I was devastated! I talked with Jackie on the 11th and she tried to lay the blame on my bank. Jackie then said MaryAnn would need to talk with her accountant. Phone call after phone call, it is now the 26th of January and no money. I called this morning and as usual the employee said they were both busy with a client. I have been a customer for over 15 years and prey they do not treat their other "clients" as I have been treated. Sorry MaryAnn and Jackie, I have waited too long. read more

I was in Posh yesterday. What a treat! I have been going to Posh for over 20 years at their various locations. I always enjoy myself there. There are so many beautiful items. The staff is always friendly. Yesterday I had the chance to speak to the owner. She was delightful. Knows everything about Vienna. I love her shop. I will miss going to Posh when we relocate to North Carolina. If I ever get back in town I definitely will try and visit Posh. read more

I totally agree with the previous reviewer, not only are they a joke but they are RUDE. I purchased 12 dinner napkins for a atotal sum of $350.00 a few weeks ago. The instructions on them said to wash in warm water. I used 4 of the napkins recently and washed according to instructions and hung them to dry because I thought they might shrink. They shrunk anyway one inch difference from the new ones. I called the store owner (Maryanne) and ever while trying to explain what happened she as abrupt, rude an told me she was going to hang up on me. She offered that they tell customers that they shrink. When I challenged her on that by telling her she didn't say that to me since she was there when I bought them she told me she was going to hang up on me. She was extremely unpleasant and very RUDE! I was expecging the quality of the napkins to be much much higher the price I paid. Instead, it's clear I way overpaid and got bad qualit ymercfhanidise that Posh was not gong to stand behind. Notice the photo of this shop. Also notice no cars parked in front. In other words notice there are no customers shopping here. This is the norm for this store. The store itself is large, stuffed with a bunch of nice stuff. Both my wife and I have bought many items from this store and its previous smaller location in Vienna. This afternoon I went in to buy a silver platter today for a Christmas gift for my wife. I was going to buy one when I noticed it had a small scratch on it. I wanted to take a picture of the scratch before buying it to ensure If my wife didn't want it (because of the scratch) then I'd have documentation of the scratch. This is before we got to any discussion of return policy. The salesperson told me immediately that I'm not allowed to take photos in the store. Trying to get a better understanding of her concern about me taking a picture of a platter I was about to purchase and could have taken a million pictures of once I bought it, I asked why. It's not like I was taking pictures of the overall store, and I was hoping to purchase the item. I was told the owner doesn't want photos taken, end of story. I told the salesperson well ok, I was going to buy it, but she didn't seem to care, owners policies are apparently more important than making a sale. So this trip was a total waste of my time. read more

I have shopped at Posh for many years, and I keep coming back time after time because there is no other store like it on the East Coast. They have the most beautiful and unique merchandise you can imagine, from small, inexpensive gift items (jewelry, stemware, tabletop items, cards, etc.) to all sorts of home furnishings and accessories that no one else carries, at very fair prices, to the highest quality furniture pieces and art work that will make your home or office look gorgeous and sophisticated. Their staff are incredibly helpful and willing to assist you in finding just what you are looking for or, if you are not sure, they will work with you and guide you to making the right selection. The owner is one of the most talented, creative, and hard-working interior designers I have ever met, and trust me I have met many who are considered among the best over the years. If you have a new home or renovation and need help designing the home or rooms or exteriors or finding furniture, art, accessories, flooring, marble/stone, faux finishing, custom wall treatments, you name it, Posh is the place to go!
