Drink coasters I bought. Keep it simple!
    Cathy B.

If you're obsessed with stationary or unique home goods, go here. It's like the Anthropologie home and jewelry section plus the Nordstorms stationary section plus Pottery Barn Kids. So it's not junk. It's nice stuff! They have: purses, pouches, beach bags, stationary, pencils, kids' section, kitchen section, rugs, scent wall, Swell water bottles, gold jewelry... EVERYTHING. I started grabbing everything before I calmed down. I mean do I really need a taco kitchen rag? Not today. And I'm not wearing my other pineapple earrings that much, so do I really need another set? Not today. I touched everything and window shopped this store to the max. I did buy some pineapple dishes to put by nightstands x3 for jewelry and hair ties. I also got 2 drink coasters. But my wishlist included: the gold pineapple beach bag, the pineapple vase, the notepad with the cat wearing a crown, the huge pineapple art print, and the Hello Sunshine art print. Very cute store. This is a good place to get a birthday or house warming gift. I plan to go back to shop for my best friend's birthday.

How sweet! I personally didn't visit the store. A friend surprised me with birthday gifts from here. She is so thoughtful and generous. So very grateful. I love everything she chose. The soy based candle smells amazing and the box itself has sunflower seeds in it. So you can put the box in soil and grow sunflowers :D The bracelets G picked out support various charities, talk about a gift that keeps on giving. 25% of the proceeds of each bracelet goes to charity. Visit chavezforcharity.com. Very cool. The packaging on everything is gorgeous. I believe most of it is recyclable. It's got that organic, simple, elegant look to it. I will definitely have to drop by the store myself. A great place to find unique gifts.

I love browsing through this store. This is my go-to place for gifts. They gift wrap (for free) everything beautifully.

Honestly after a lot of money spend and shoulder and neck pains I figured out that I needed a change. I thought maybe I just needed a better chair but that only helped a little bit. I started to become desperate and lazy, 'maybe I should just work on the floor' I thought to myself, with that I discovered that I had less back pains and started just working from the floor. I tried this out for 3 months and I am happy to report that my back pains have lessened. So what does R-Home furniture have to do with this discover? Well everything of course, I started researching online about a sturdy short table, but not just any table would do. I was looking for a table that if I really wanted to I could use as a dining table, just something of quality! After a ton of research and a lot of unsuccessful and risky online ads, I found R-Home furniture. I sent an inquiry online and asked George if he had a Chabudai (Japanese short table) and he replied yes! I was super excited and let him know the dimensions I wanted as well as the base. I was a bit unsure of the colors and bases but George walked me through it. Two days later I came in and took a look at all the available pieces and was in awe of the selection, the picture really doesn't do it justice. After some indecisiveness on my part George recommend me a few pieces and I took it home the same day. The table wouldn't fit in my car if the base was attached but George and Ricky helped my husband load the table in the car. If you are ever looking for a great deal and just a bit of customization you definitely don't have to go further than to R-Home.

When I checked out on my last trip, the young gentleman at the register kept yawning and barely acknowledged me -- it came across as lacking basic manners and customer service. To make matters worse, a picture frame I bought turned out to be damaged in the corner when I unwrapped it at home. When I brought it back to return, the sales associate spoke to me in an accusatory tone and insisted that I had damaged it. I explained that I discovered the damage only after opening the packaging, but she refused to accept the return. Thankfully, I asked to speak with the Manager, who checked my receipt, realized I had purchased it just the day before, and resolved the situation professionally. I appreciated the manager stepping in, but the interaction should never have escalated to that point. Glad it was ultimately corrected, but the sales associate definitely needs better training in communication, customer courtesy, and how to handle returns without blaming customers.

Anyway...while he was at his appt., I decided to walk around the shopping center (FairLakes Promenade). I had seen Home Sense before but never got around to checking it out. Finally, got to do that today. At first glance, it looked like it was a furniture store. Yes, they have lots of furniture but a deeper look showed there was so much more. There are towels, bedding, kitchen utensils, household cleaning items, rugs and decorative items. My intention was just to look not buy. However, when I saw the food items, I realized that I needed a shopping cart. Things that caught my eye...imported pasta, pasta sauces, spices, sweets and a cleaning formulation for shower doors and mirrors. Truthfully, there were other items that attracted me but I exercised will power. For example, I saw a lovely vase but my sensible side said "we don't need another vase." There was artwork but sensible side said "We have enough of that and only so much wall space". When I went to check out, the cashier was friendly. I found out, when he tried to get me to sign up for a credit card, that they are part of a conglomerate that includes TJ Maxx. No, we don't need another credit card! My haul ended up costing $35 plus change. Once we were home, I showed my husband my haul. He asked what it cost and was pleasantly surprised. Aw, gee! I'm so proud of myself :D So, no regrets for paying Home Sense a visit!
