Nevertheless, we might get rid of some stuff to add new, but old stuff. We will see. Upon walking inside the shop, I think about how many homes these pieces of furniture traveled to. Speaking with Ms. Gordon, I found out about the possibility of donating old furniture we might not need anymore. This has been fun. And although you say you accept new and gently used items, sometimes a volunteer wants to cherry pick. Everything is always carefully packed and protected as necessary, and we're not going to unpack and repack boxes at someone's whim, and then find somewhere else for items not taken. After many years donating to a variety of nonprofit thrift shops, and sadly our favorite one shutting down, we're giving up on the Treasure Hound. We have not had similar problems with any other shop. It makes us sad because we prefer to support a group like yours that helps animals.

We came here first and were blown away by how neat, clean, and well decorated the store was. The first item I was drawn to was a beautifully hand painted egg in excellent condition - for something like $13. I couldn't think of anyone it would have been a good gift for, but wish I did! It was gorgeous and definitely a piece someone would cherish. They had numerous such type items. My Mom found some fabrics and other items she loved so much she was willing to get them and schlep them all the way back to Hawaii in her luggage. She also enjoyed looking at all the jewelry in the cases and talking with the helpful volunteers. The only off note for me was while talking to one of the volunteers, they made it a point to let me know they didn't accept all donations. Twice. I almost laughed out loud in her face the second time. Don't assume because I'm in shorts and a T-shirt that I'm not aware of the niche the store is attempting to maintain, or that I don't have items to donate that they would make money off of. *But* they are volunteers and they were super nice to my Mom so they get a pass for it. I'll be bringing other friends who love this kind of shopping by in the future. Being the first store we visited made the others pale in comparison. Definitely a winner!

Tucked away in an industrial park, the store is quaint yet extremely well put together and merchandised ... it really made shopping fun because the way they had everything arranged literally caught your attention and drew you in. Oh and the entire store was 50% off so it made discovering treasures even that much more exciting. I purchased a unique pair of boho wedge sandals and tons of bracelets and a necklace ... all for $15!!!! I didn't take any pics which is so unlike me, but that just tells you how much fun I had and I'll definitely be back!

The manager gave a 10 second look over my trailer filled with donations and took 20% of the items. I had to more or less sell my items to them so I could make the donation. After 'selling' him in the new faucet, I have better things to do than sell 20 other items to them. In the future I won't waste my time at the Herndon ReStore. The Chantilly location has never failed me. What else was not able to be donated? An unused replacement sandpaper belt, new. 2x Screen door hinges new in box. Children's folding step ladder, various tools for laying carpet. Kohler faucet head. They did take a 21 yr old rusted washing machine and a new in box microwave.

They were so kind knowledgeable and willing to make a deal on the pieces we loved. Though I left empty handed I will be going back to buy at least one if not multiple paintings and/or the etching I wanted. I could spend hours upon hours in this store looking around. The guys were so sweet, we talked about my family farm, chickens, and art. I want to be friends with Mr. Beekman as his store and knowledge is beautiful, such good vibes! Not sure how anyone had a bad experience here I felt it left an impression on me as they spent time and let us wander til close not rushing or pushing just informing and chatting. The treasures here are wonderful and I've been to other antique stores in the area but this one has sooo much art and I'm a big art lover and felt at home at Beekmans place.
