This is my first gravel bike. Ive ridden mountain bikes for a while but wanted to get into something more road friendly for exercise. I have been loving the shit out of this thing and riding 3-4 days a week. Well Ive had it for a month and one of the pedals stripped straight off and now I have to replace the whole crankset. I emailed them and asked about the warranty and they said it was due to faulty installation so they wouldnt cover it under warranty. I took it to a local shop to have everything tightened up after I put it together and it was fine when it left the shop but hey who knows. Luckily the replacement crankset was only 25$ but when you add in the $5 fee to reserve the right to return it (total BS by the way) and the $7 shipping I just said screw it. Would I buy from them again? Probably not. Should you? Eh it could go either way. Everybody on their website seems to have fantastic reviews but it is also impossible for me to leave a review on there so I doubt all of the reviews are even published. Either that or they have almost 1000 reviews without a single 1 star review which would be an actual modern day miracle. I bought a Flatbar Redwood about 8 months ago and this thing is a monster. I can roll on mild gravel, single track, and I can do most mountain bike things with it. I had a shop check them out and they verified they were installed properly. These people were willing to lose a customer over some fairly inexpensive hardware they could have just replaced. I hate to see negative reviews here from a company that I am totally happy with. The bikes were shipped reasonably quick but FedEx treated my bike in box like a pillow and damaged the front wheel. Luis at poseidon quickly corrected the situation. The price point was perfect for me but I think prices may go up slightly if the shipping carriers keep damaging bikes. I absolutely love the ride, My GF and I ordered ours at the same time and hers arrived without an issue. Can't wipe the smile off her face after a ride. I drove down to Brea to pick out a bike for my husband! I surprised him for Easter with a redwood flatbar bike! He was so excited to receive. The guys that work at Poseidon are fast efficient and very knowledgeable about their bikes! They walk you through how to save money and they even hooked me up with a water bottle and a bottle holder for my husbands bike to surprise him with more stuff! Loved my experience there and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a bike. I wish they would be open on weekends though! But overall go ride and get a bike from Poseidon. I have the Poseidon X and couldn't be happier. The bike assembly was straightforward with the helpful videos on their website. I was blown away by how zippy this bike is. My cousin took it for a spin then immediately got online and ended up buying one for himself. I take it on group gravel rides and it has no problem fitting in with bikes that cost four times as much. The aluminum frame and carbon fork provide a nice, lightweight ride. I ended up swapping out the pedals for clip-in SPD pedals but this bike is truly enjoyable right out of the box. read more

For starters, this is not a review of their products. I wish I could review the bike I ordered 2 months ago. I am stationed overseas so the shipping has to be done with a special company. All communication has been via email because of the time difference. If I could rate customer service lower than 1 star I would. It took a week for their Shipping Rep, Luis, to reply. When he did finally reply he complained to me about taking time away from his family on his day off to reply to my email. When I finally figured the shipping out I had to send the labels 2 times and didn't get any responses until I submitted a formal complaint via their website and the person who responded was the same person I submitted the complaint about...he still didn't have the labels. I sent them a third time with previous emails attached. On every email I also CC'd their general "info@poseidon.com". I got another email stating they still didn't get the labels and asking me to email info@poseidon.com instead... I have attached the $400 shipping labels and emailed info@poseidon.com on almost every email. Are they even paying attention? This is insane. I just want my bike. read more

Here's an honest review: I bought a frameset from Poseidon recently for a custom build, and it was shipped to me quickly. When I opened the box, I noticed some damage and contacted the Poseidon directly. Luis was very quick to respond and offered to swap out the frameset, which he did. I had a few issues again, and again he went out of his way to assist and provide timely assistance. He shipped me another frame before even asking me to return the other one, after personally checking it over himself. I got the frame, it was perfect, put the bike together and was super stoked! The level of care and professionalism that was showed to me was outstanding. Producing bikes direct to consumer like they do is a difficult task and not without notable challenges, but Poseidon rises to the task and absolutely goes above and beyond to ensure that you're getting something they are happy to have their branding and name on. That speaks volumes to someone like me, and tells me that I made the right choice. After initially being hesitant and somewhat put-off, I can honestly say that I'm beyond stoked I decided to go with Poseidon and will absolutely be recommending them to as many people as I can. If you value the hard work and effort behind running a smaller business, do not hesitate at all to give them your business. Trust me, you won't regret it, and the bikes are super sick. Recently purchased this bike for my wife. After assembly, I noticed that the bike's disc brakes were rubbing.. spoke to Luis and basically said that tuning that in is part of the assembly or save myself the headache and bring it to a bike shop and have it repaired. Took it to the bike shop and they noticed that the tires are not aligned.. overall I had to pay $70 to get the bike tuned from my local bike shop. If you are knowledgeable on how to fix bikes then you won't have a problem. As for me.. I am disappointed with the lack of help I have received from the company. You are better off buying a bike at your local bike shop because most of them offer a one year free service on a bike you purchased. read more

I first found out about Poseidon bikes through my brother. He recommended them because they were a local business and he and I were looking to get into gravel bikes. I recently purchased a poseidon x bike. This is my first gravel bike and I am sad to say that I am disappointed with the outcome. If I could give zero stars, I would because I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience. Not to say lightly, $800 is a lot of money. Their communication is very poor. Their ETA for when the bike would be ready was supposed to be by end of week. I did not receive my bike until 2.5 weeks later. Throughout this time, I tried getting ahold of someone at their facility which was basically impossible as their phone is simply a voicemail that doesn't give you an Avenue to speak to a human being. Their chat is useless on their website as well as you aren't ever actually chatting with anyone. We had to drive out to their office to find out they were closed for the weekend since their voicemail nor did their website mentioned any changes with their hours of operation. I finally was able to stop by to ask for a status of my order and did not feel any reassurance nor welcomed.Luis was insufferable as he seemed inconvenienced by any questions I had for him. He almost seemed shocked that I was asking for the status of my order 2 weeks after he had initially stated that it would be ready. He was so pretentious, it was so hard to talk to him because it felt like he never took me serious as a paying customer. I paid for full assembly/tune but when I first tried the bike I noticed that the tires were light on air. A couple weeks later when I took it on my first ride, the tires had flattened entirely and when I emailed Poseidon about it, they expressed indifference and did not consider any accommodations. Overall, I had a negative experience with this company and would not recommend them to anyone. read more

great concept and design but horrible horrible frame manufacturing/ assembly and craft. Can't express, how super duper disappointed I'm in this company, bike did not meet my expectations at all, I mean lets start with the frame, its warped or not aligned or something, the brakes are nearly impossible to dial in, and its not tektro, I've worked with tektro brakes before and they are okay, the frame mounts are off and the welds don't look like quality welds, the wheels are not trued, the spokes constantly break, the seat sucks and is always loose, the paint is cheap and chips so easily, I replaced the bottom bracket it sucked and bought completely new wheels, new seat, had to resurface the brake mount area and shave off some metal, which took forever, I would not recommend this bike unless your down to put extra money and work. The frame geometry is not comfortable, the frame is weak and not engineered well at all for this price. For me it appears to be a very cheap out sourced low quality produced product, I can build a better bike sourcing the parts separately. Any way Cheaper isn't always better, I'm going to donate this bike to a charity or to someone in need, I'm over it. read more

I bought the bike and was excited when it showed up in the tv box. I watched several youtube videos praising the craftsmanship. I started assembling and got to the front tire assembly, but the through-axle didn't fit because it was out of alignment. I should have asked for a full refund right there, but after talking with customer service, they shipped a new fork. I just received the new fork today, and the stem is three inches longer than the one I have. I contacted Poseidon through Instagram, and they answered that they ship all their forks uncut so the customer can determine their stem length. Why would you send me a fork that is longer than the one I have? Why wouldn't you just cut it to size in the specs and ship it to me? Also, there was no star nut in the stem, so they told me they would cover the cost of taking it to a shop and having them install one. Ugh! How many mistakes and flubs do I have to put up with to get a bike to ride? I should have just bought a bike locally. I suggest you stay away from Poseidon, and if you are looking for a good bike, go to your local bike shop and see what they can do for you. read more

bought a Poseidon X bike, their version of a gravel bike. The bike arrived in a TV box from china. not sure if it's built there or assembled with parts from china, but you can tell it's from china. 20 miles into the ride, the right pedal came off. after carefully examing the crank, it's completely worn down. I called the company and see if they can remedy the situation. The person picking up says it's a common problem with their bikes, but it's my fault since I didn't know how to install the pedals. I have been building bikes for 30 years have not had issues with any bike until now. They were willing to replace the part which wasn't covered under their warranty at all, and it will cost me an additional $30.00 plus shipping. I decided not to replace a cheap part from China, so I bought my own from Amazon. When I received the new crank I went ahead and tried to replace the original bad cranks. However, to my surprise, the bottom bracket is frozen on the frame. I called this company again, and they stated it's not their business and their responsibility to re-lube the bottom bracket. My guess is that these cheap bikes are assembled in China and to reduce the cost they cut corners on every part of it. Long story short, I had to file a complaint with BBB in California and Consumer Affairs. Stay away from buying anything from this company. read more
