First time coming in , mostly we stopped for the bathroom as I had my kids with me. The space is great!!!! Loads of room and great clean bathrooms, WiFi and food/drink. Beautifully situated right by an orchard. Pet friendly but pets stay outside. I didn't get a drink, they have coffee and more. We got a cookie that was large and good, kinda pricey. Cute coffee shop in Green Valley that offers a ton of different beverages, pastries, and food items. I got a spinach and mushroom egg quiche that was delish and my boyfriend got a BEC sandwich on an english muffin which was fine. Their coffee is good and the service is very fast and friendly. They also have a ton of gluten free pastries which is so nice (cookies and muffins) and flavors for coffees as well. There's a lot of seating inside and outside as well, if you're in the area definitely stop by! read more

We visited three times during our stay in Green Valley for lattes and morning snacks. The service was prompt but somewhat unfriendly. The coffees were good and the food was mostly OK. On one occasion we were served with a very expensive almond croissant that seemed to be a few days old. This is a very busy place in a popular location - I just wish they treated their customers better. read more

This cafe features gourmet coffees and baked goods and it is nestled into the La Posada development by the main entrance. Posada Java has been renovated since I last visited a few years ago. I enjoyed different kinds of delicious muffins (including a gluten free version). I look forward to returning again when I next visit Green Valley. read more

By far better than any Starbucks coffee shop I've ever been in and the service is amazing so be sure to try the pecan roll or a scone to accompany your coffee. Always a nice crowd of locals but never out of seating lots of regulars show up on Saturdays. read more

I had hoped for a neighborhood coffee shop that I could walk to when I moved to Green Valley! I'm so close to Posada Java but not close enough to walk but the 2 mile drive is definitely worth it! This place is a combo of retro, Instagramable decor, new school but older clientele with a tiny menu to pick from more like the big chain coffee spot we allll know of. I felt both out of place and complete at home here haha! The decor is beautiful with a ton of tiny accents that make it so perfect including the big neon sign on the wall. But being 41, in town with a backpack laptop drug out for work to answer emails at 7am, I was for sureeee not a local. This review is primarily focused on the "curbside service" aspect of this establishment, which we found to be unacceptable. A firm should not advertise a service that they cannot adequately support. We placed a simple lunch order online via the firm's website. When we arrived at the time the food was supposed to be ready, we clicked on the notification link they had provided us via text message, to let them know we had arrived. We waited 5 minutes. We then clicked the link a second time and placed a phone call, which eventually went to voice mail, as did a couple subsequent calls. Finally I went inside, having to stand near a bunch of people who were not "social distancing" - something I had been trying to avoid due to the pandemic and to the "at risk status" of a family member. I waited another 5 minutes and finally got the attention of an order taker, who eventually packed our lunch - forgetting one of the components. It appears that this restaurant has no real plan to support online ordering with curbside service, and as such, should stop offering it. And BTW, the food was just "OK," nothing special - on a par with Denny's, which actually gets their food out in a reasonable time. read more

Had frequented Posada Java quite frequently, but not since the pandemic. Decided to finally revisit to get a latte and breakfast goody. The establishment has been remodeled with new chairs and tables - a nice upgrade; that was a nice surprise. Went to counter to order a latte and stood in front of pastry case to decide on a morsel. Nothing looked familiar in that case except for the extra large cookies. The muffin, croissant, etc, display looked pathetic and lifeless, as though they were carved out of stone! They were small in size and the color very unappetizing; as though they sat there forever collecting the daily dust. I posed the question to the server: "did you change vendors for your baked items? Oh, yes, it's baked off the premises right here instead of coming from La Buzz in Tucson." I replied: that's what it looks like. What a drastic disappointment. From what I saw in that case, I surmised that I did not want to take a chance of even trying one of those pathetic choices in that bakery display. Please resort back to your previous La Buzz vendor to upgrade the daily bakery choices for your customers. As you can tell, I was hugely DISAPPOINTED traveling from Sahuarita!! read more

Oh my gosh, this is such a cute coffee shop! With several different seating areas, it's perfect for getting work done, catching up with friends, or just taking a time out for yourself. The drinks are also great. I visited with my husband and my in-laws and this place has something for everyone's taste. Between the four of us, we ordered a coffee, an iced tea, a house made lemonade, and a blended mocha. All were delicious. We didn't try any of the food, but they've got lots of options. On Saturday my wife and i and a friend were sitting at a table enjoying our coffee when a man with a large Rottweiler "service" dog passed closely by us. The dog approached my wife and when she asked the man to please pull the dog away he became hostile and threatening. When i asked him if his dog was a service dog he told me to "go back to Washington " ( i was wearing a Seattle ballcap) and then told us twice "this dog can tear you to shreds". Clearly he has some mental issues and patrons should be aware of that. Be careful. read more

This place is a pleasure to visit, especially first thing in the morning, because the staff is so chipper and sincerely care about your morning experience. For being at the epicenter of a huge retirement community, La Posada, they get a lot of customers and attention and appear to handle it well havering plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and even various rooms to kick back in, with tables chairs and even a couple cozy leather loungers. Now why the 0.5 star deduction? They have a little itty bitty trouble making cappuccinos, particularly with almond milk. As a former barista, I can tell you, it's not the almond milk. They are made a touch too hot and the barista needs a touch more practice, training or technique. The great thing is I don't mind lattes because that's what you get. At least the espresso was marvelous, smooth and bold which makes the rest easier to swallow... It's incredible what amazing service can do! It makes you want to be an amazing customer right back. I love this space! There is art hung throughout the cafe walls and even and art gallery connected off to the side right next to the pianist going to town on the keys with jazzy yet uplifting tunes. My guess is if you walk in grumpy to this place, there is no way you can justify leaving without a smile on your face. Would I return? Absolutely! read more

I have been a periodic customer of Posada Java since it opened. I have noticed that since management has changed in the past year, the quality of customer service at the counter by younger employees has changed. I used to thoroughly enjoy going to Posada Java because I always felt welcomed and valued as a customer. I no longer feel this way. There are times when I never receive a greeting from the cashier while other times I wait silently before giving an order hoping a greeting will be forthcoming. The quality of the food has not changed, it just does not seem anywhere near as warm or inviting an environment as it used to. read more

What a disappointment! In the past, We were regular customers to Posada Java. After cycle rides or just out for a delightful coffee and muffin or cookie. Stopped in today for the second time since the remodeled edition was reopened. How on earth you have managed a ruin such a special little coffee shop is beyond me. No more refills from regular or decaffeinated dispensers on the counter top. Your cookie and muffin selection/ space in now less than half what it was even though the square footage of the place is much bigger. And you decor. Ugh!!! Not welcoming and friendly. Your people behind the counter are kids. Who do you think you are mostly serving .... SENIORS.... Who enjoy being greeted and spoken to. Sweet service and good coffee always makes the day start bright! The space is airy and light with lots of places to sit. I occasionally enjoy a fresh baked treat. I try and stop here every morning my business takes me to Green Valley. I usually order one of their blended ice "mochachino" coffees and a scone to go. Mixed reviews after two visits in one week. Stopped by last week for quiche and coffee. Hadn't been there for a few years. Was delighted to find the price is still $5.00; and the caramelized onion quiche was delicious, again served warmed up. My friend had a more funky choice-pepperoni - but she said it was surprisingly good as did another gentleman who had been in the line with us. So was excited when an other friend suggested breakfast at LaPosada today. Was looking forward to another great meal, as the board showed "caramelized onions" again. Should have known better, when the gal called out "green onion" when my order was ready for pickup. Just a smidge of green onions scraps on top, not mixed through as the caramelized onions had been. Eggs sorely needed seasoning, luckily they have S/P shakers available. The board also showed "chicken" quiche, but my friend was told it was now "turkey", an okay choice. But on delivery and tasting, it proved to be ham and cheese which was a disappointment. read more

This coffee place is perfectly situated just outside of Madera Canyon. It has a nice outdoor seating area and is spacious inside with an art gallery. Unfortunately, when I went it smelled bad inside and one look at the sad looking baked good and I decided not to stay. read more

We stopped here every morning after walking with our dog on the nearby Anza Trail. A true gem with great coffee, pastries and quiche. It is very Green Valley-esque (read senior abundant) but has a nice busy vibe and a variety of seating options including a patio to soak in the sunshine. read more
