My biggest complaint is the parking. The building charges $2 every 15 minutes, with a maximum of $20 per day, which I think is excessive. I normally park on the street, but because I was short on time, I decided to park in the building. I was there for less than an hour and ended up paying $8. Unbelievable! It was a good reminder to leave earlier next time so I can avoid paying for parking. The highlight of my visit was the technician who drew my blood. Her name is Susan (she's asian), and she's a floater. My veins are very difficult to find, but she located one on the first try, and the blood draw was completely painless. I wish I could request an appointment with her every time I need lab work done. She was definitely the best part of my visit.

She is delightful, helpful, professional and answered all my questions as they came up, never appearing annoyed (as some offices can . The front office is the first thing a patient deals with....if it is not a good experience, it doesn't matter what follows. The experience can be soured. Fees are different from patient to patient, but I was promptly quoted a reasonable amount and signed a paper agreeing to that amount. Delighted to find everyone was as wonderful as Marissa. Diane and Cynthia on the phone and Anna, the manager, in person. They were kind and accommodating. Anna is a gem. I can see why her employees are top notch. NOW, the actual MRI: Elyse (Eliz?) was my tech. She was sweet, helpful, and as gentle as she could be. I had earplugs. The 20 minutes went by incredibly fast! I may have fallen asleep. I arrived at the office without an appointment and there was no one waiting. The office is very small with just a few chairs, and a small tea/coffee station. I was taken in immediately. Very often, my veins are difficult to work with. During the draw, the phlebotomist was Jose. He was able to get the draw on the first try and I did not have type of bruising or issues afterward. I had to return a couple of days later for a test that must be done early in morning. Upon arrival, there were a few people ahead of me and it was standing room only. There was only one person working and she was with a patient in the back, so it took some time to check in. After checking in, another employee arrived and those in the waiting room were helped. The phlebotomist that I had for the second test was Joanna, aka JoJo. She was very personable and was able to get the draw on the first try. I enjoyed speaking with her and she made the appointment comfortable. I had no issues with bruising after the test. The office is on the second floor of a medical building. The building has paid parking, but I always park on the street. There is metered parking and free street parking available within easy walking distance of the building.

The receptionists were giggling and talking away as if they forgot they were at work, as if they forgot there were clients waiting. When I asked what's going on my appointment was at 4:45, she then says she will check. Within 5 minutes of checking my name is called. So it's my job to check or is it their job to let me know if there's a delay? I guess if it was a place with good service and professionals it would be their job. Otherwise just know it's your job to keep checking or else you'll probably just keep sitting in the waiting room.

There was plenty of it, which is rare compared to other Labcorp locations where parking is usually paid and a hassle. The office is small and was pretty full when I arrived, but even with an appointment, I was called back within just a few minutes. Bernice was handling everything during my visit, and she was amazing. The waiting room had several patients asking questions and feeling impatient, but she stayed calm, organized, and efficient the entire time while keeping things moving. She mentioned it's usually a two-person team, but they were short on supplies that day, so she was holding things down on her own, which made it even more impressive. When it was my turn, she was professional and kind. I usually have very difficult veins and often get poked multiple times, but she got it on the first try. Overall, top-tier service. I would definitely recommend this location. Just be patient if it's busy - they're working hard and doing their best.

When asked why the receptionists didn't call the insurance company at the time we were there, she had nothing to say. Mind you, it took 5 minutes when we called the insurance company. There's a reason why this company has 2 stars. Any of the good reviews are for the technicians - not the office staff, management or even the MDs responsible for reading the results. Nice but also I understand it's not always easy in that environment to be on top of new people coming in. I checked in, filled out my paperwork and expected to be sitting for a while since my appointment wasn't until 11:30am and I arrived close to 10:45am. To my surprise I was taken back early. John was the star of my day. He greeted me more prepared than I've ever had a scan tech be. He ran down everything that would happen but none of it was condescending and he respected my experience while still checking if I had questions or needed anything. Anything John said he would do he did right on time. No one forgot about anything they said they'd do, whether it was getting parking validation, being reminded to take medication or asking for water. I was offered more comforts without asking. I didn't get his name but the guy working with John helped care for the little things and made sure I had a pillow also propped under my arms so they wouldn't fall asleep while my scans were being done. No other imaging place ever offered that, and yes my arms would fall asleep. We chatted about clothing options for scans and he's the first person to have given suggestions and they were good. Back to John, he talked me through my scans and what to expect, which I always appreciate. He told me how long until I could move my head while the rest of my body got scanned. Scans make me nervous so I try to request time checks but places don't always do them when they say they will. I didn't ask John for time info, he just did them and came over to tell me and check I was ok and understood instead of just using an intercom. Nothing felt forced and I had never admitted to them I have a hard time staying still for so long in the machine. They just got it. Scans used to take me about 45min but they also have a new machine that did them (PET/CT) in under 20. The results here also take maybe a day or two to be sent to my oncologist vs a week or two from other places I've been. I drive from the Hollywood area to Northridge based on my Oncologist's suggestion and as much as I hate the drive and the cost of gas this is absolutely worth it. Big thank you to the whole Renaissance Imaging Center of Northridge for being so wonderful. What a difference it makes. Bonus points that when I called Marisela to make an appointment she actually called me back when I left a message. It sounds so basic but going through the Medical system so much getting calls back is not as common as it used to be so I was impressed.

After previously having a very negative experience there with an ultrasound technologist, Anete, I was honestly nervous about returning. During my ultrasound experience, I did not feel that Anete was trauma-informed. Her demeanor felt cold, detached, and lacking in compassion, and she came across to me as though she really did not want to be there. When you're already dealing with medical concerns and feeling vulnerable, the way you're treated matters tremendously. Then I met Fariba and Fariba was THE BEST! This was my first mammogram, and I couldn't have asked for a better person to walk me through it. Fariba was warm, polite, patient, compassionate, and incredibly respectful. She explained things, made me feel comfortable, and turned something I was nervous about into a genuinely positive experience. The contrast between my two experiences at the same facility was HUGE. Fariba demonstrated exactly what trauma-informed, compassionate patient care can look like. She made me feel like a person rather than just another appointment. Fariba, you redeemed this place for me! Give this woman a raise, an award, flowers... SOMETHING. for Fariba. Healthcare needs more people like her.
