There's a ton of tattoo shops in this area, but you HAVE to go to Porkchop's. While on vacation in Myrtle Beach, my MIL and I wanted to get memory tattoos. We called in & asked what time we could walk in, they were incredibly kind on the phone. Shaun tattooed my ocean scene and Scott did the postage stamp. Both guys were super nice and chatty, incredibly thorough, welcoming, everything you could want in an artist. The shop was clean and well maintained. called prior in the day to see if they had open availability for a walk in appointment because their website states they do take walk ins. the woman i spoke to on the phone said two artists would have availability at 4pm. when i walked in, i was greeted very rudely "can i help you?". i stated to the guy that i called an hour prior & was told there would be walk in availability at 4pm. he was very rude & said "i don't need someone else making my availability, i don't have time". when he could've kindly said he didn't have time to do so. i just went to another tattoo shop in the plaza & had an amazing experience. i hope this isn't how this guy, Kristian, treats all his clients. read more

Love the staff and the work. There were 3 of us looking to get a tribute piece for a family member/friend. We walked in and they were able to fit us in. Very clean, super friendly. Great work. Prices were really reasonable. 175 and each tattoo took about an hour and a half. I was surprised that they weren't on yelp. They have been open here for about 8 months, he has other locations. I attached a pic of of what we got. Super happy and will come back if in the area. So glad we stumbled on this place... And they take credit cards!! read more

I went to porkchops when i was down at the beach on vacation with my friends to get a tattoo. The artists were very nice. I asked for a very simple heart and i got this. I'm now having a very hard time getting another place to fix it and am very unhappy with the result. It was my first tattoo and kinda ruined my experience of wanting another one. very poor work, i'm disappointed. :/ read more

Now this place was not the place chosen to go to but I'm THRILLED this is where we ended up. Their minimum is $50. Feel bad that I don't remember the artist that did my tattoo but he is soooo soft spoken & sweet; he sits in the second section from when you walk in. The shop is very clean, the artists are friendly and thorough in their paper work & craft. It's my first time having a needle used on me that doesn't make a sound but the pain is still there lolol. I walked in after filling out the online consult form with some ideas for design, size and placement. Kristen was the artist best capable of doing the design I wanted, and he did NOT disappoint! From every detail, from his placement that flowed perfectly with my body to the pressure he kept on my arm while going over some more painful spots- this was the best tattoo appointment I've ever had. He and Bailee were the only 2 artists there at the time but they both were so fun and enjoyable to be around, as I'm sure every other artist is there. The studio was immaculately clean, cool, smelled good, it almost felt like a spa experience I was so relaxed. Best of all, this tattoo was so fairly priced for the level of detail and size that my family is now planning to come back down to Myrtle from Pittsburgh next summer just to go to Pork Chop again. Terribly rude and inconsiderate employees. We went in and talked to them about a few of us getting tattoos. We were told to come back at 5 and we even called to confirm. We left the beach early on our last day to get to the tattoo shop. We arrived at 4:45, when we went in he looked at us and said "sorry man I don't know what to tell you we can't do this many tattoos." There was only ONE other person getting a tattoo, which tells me that the management is poor. I truly do not believe that this business is interested in making money. If you plan on getting a tattoo here, you might as well make it a DIY project. The ONLY positive experience of this was the dog in the tattoo shop. Going here will be a waste of time your time and resources. read more
