Took me in as a walk in. Amazing work and service. Everything was professional and I felt the tattoo process very doable. Desk staff were very welcoming and transparent as well. If I come back to South Carolina I will definitely stop by here again.

I've never been to a more professional, pleasant and knowledgeable tattoo shop. Everyone I came in contact with was incredibly helpful. Adia was my artist and she was fantastic. I walked in with a friend and Adia was able to take us pretty quickly. Our tattoos came out better than we imagined and she was a pleasure to talk to the whole time. 10 or 10 would highly recommend! Great shop with great people!

Allan is the best at blending colors and has a great eye for detail. I have gone to him with a lot of ideas and he brings them to life.maggie that works up front is awesome. she is friendly and even remembers my name.

Hank is absolutely AMAZING!! The establishment is great in general as I've had 3/5 of my tattoos there and have experienced nothing short of amazing professionalism as well as incredibly clean/sterile environment. Hank has done my past 2 tattoos and I trust no one more. He prides himself on giving top notch creative beautiful work. Last time it was fun flying books and flowers he drew up himself from an idea I had in my head... this time it was a tribute to my childhood pet that had passed and I was blown away both times. There is a reason he stays booked out for months but I'll happily wait 1000 times over bc the quality is worth it!

I booked a 3-4 hour custom tattoo appointment on April 6, 2026, which was confirmed for April 26, 2026, from 3:00-7:00 PM. On the day of my appointment, I received a call from the front desk at 1:08 PM--less than two hours before my scheduled time--canceling my appointment and telling me the soonest I could reschedule was May 29, 2026 with a different artist. I had already driven four hours one way to be there. When I expressed my frustration, I was told, "I'm just the messenger." I understand staff may not control scheduling, but canceling a long, custom appointment with such short notice and no accountability is extremely unprofessional. After hearing great things about Elite Tattoo since moving to the Myrtle Beach area over a year ago, this experience was disappointing. Tattoos require planning, travel, and trust, and this situation showed a lack of respect for the client's time and effort. @Elite Tattoo you are very unprofessional as are your artists. I hope you are happy with your choices because I keep repeating to myself for the last 24 hours "I cannot believe that shop canceled on me 2 hours before my appointment". I will make sure everyone knows. UPDATE - April 27, 2026 | 12:12 PM I called Elite Tattoo and spoke with Diana to request written confirmation of my refund. I was told on April 26, 2026 that a full refund had been processed, but as of 12:09 PM on April 27, my bank had not received the refund request. While on the call, Diana relayed my situation to another staff member, stating, "It's the gentleman about the refund yesterday." The other individual responded aggressively, "I'll process his refund and answer his Google review." When I questioned why I had been told the refund was already processed the day prior, I requested that the refund confirmation be emailed to me for documentation. At that point, the staff member began yelling on the phone and disconnected the call. I called back at 12:16 PM and again spoke with Diana, calmly asking that staff not yell at me and reiterating that I only wanted written confirmation of the refund. I was told I was being "unruly" because I expressed that I did not trust the shop at this point. Given that I drove four hours only to have my appointment canceled less than two hours before start time, I believe that concern is reasonable. I was then told the appointment was canceled because the artist is pregnant. While I understand personal circumstances, this does not explain why the appointment--booked two weeks prior--was canceled at the last minute after significant travel. This experience reflects extremely poor communication, unprofessional conduct, and a lack of basic customer respect. If someone had communicated with me at any point during the two‑week window prior to my appointment, I would have gladly been open to booking a different piece or even working with another artist at the same date and time. That option was never offered. It was a $400 dollar piece with a $200 dollar tip. Clearly the shop is not looking for clients just random one offs that want a tattoo. I was looking for a new artist to continue with. What's most disappointing is the lack of communication and respect throughout this situation. From the artists to management, the way this was handled was extremely unprofessional and dismissive of the time, effort, and travel required of the client. This shop is a joke. Good luck. read more

This was my 2nd tattoo from him in a year and I could not more highly recommend him. Yes-scheduling is a hassle and more complicated than I like, but it is with the hoops. read more

I met up with my mom today to get her first tattoo. The counter girl set her appointment up the day before with Devon for 3 pm today. I have to say I'm super surprised by the way this "appointment" went down. I've heard good things about Elite so after reviewing their website I suggested my mom go there. Me and my mom met up in the lobby on time. The counter girl grabbed Devon from her room. She came out greeted my mother, and didn't say anything to me so I introduced myself and we all grabbed a seat. My mom had already been given aftercare instructions for her tattoo the day before. We explain to Devon what my mom wants. It's a super simplistic easy as hell, quick money making small ass tattoo that's pretty much the style of a walk-in, off the wall kind of design. My mom then goes on to say she's so excited and ready to do it. Devon pipes up with "Oh I can't do it today, I have an appointment in 15 mins- I find that odd given my mom was on her schedule for 3 and was already given aftercare instructions the day before. Hell, we hadn't been talking with Devon for more than 10 minutes at that point. And Devon couldn't possibly come off any more disinterested. Also, what happened with the scheduling there?!?... My mom was disappointed, and then asked how long it would take and if she could wait till after her "appointment" that was coming in 15 minutes. Devon can't, she's got her client coming and gotta pick her kids up, etc. My mom then asked if she was available next week on Monday. She wasn't, except maybe Tuesday but wasn't sure, def booked Monday for sure though. As this is taking place the counter girl walks up and is like so, what did y'all decide?! Devon is all "Oh I can't do it today". The counter girl looks confused and Devon tells her that my appointment is gonna be here in 15 minutes and I gotta pick up my kids today. Remember? I told you about that. The counter girl is looking super confused. So that was awkward So I just interrupted and told my mom it's ok. We'll just do it on a different day etc. They're prob busy all the time. We can make another appointment later on and come back then etc. just so I could get my mom out of there and not even bother any further. It's been my experience working in tattoo shops and being around tattoo artists over the years that some not all hate bothering with tattooing older people, simple BS designs they're not interested in doing, or whatever the tattooer's reason is at the moment. They will push the client off by any means be it overpricing them out or making it extremely difficult to set an appointment etc. anything to get the person out the door and on their way. Which almost always results in the client finding someone else... That's the vibe I caught today. But hey, that's just me. Aside from all that, it's weird to me to have your "appointment" in the lobby area while discussing price, details, designs, etc. Anyway, the only positive I can say from this experience, the shop from what little I saw, was neat and clean. The counter guy who first greeted me was pleasant as well as the counter girl who set up my mom's appointment for today. Plenty of parking. Super comfortable chairs in the lobby. Nice atmosphere. A few quick glimpses of the private rooms on my way in looked to be super nice and more than accommodating. But, all that means nothing if your tattooer can't or won't accommodate clients and the appointments that were made by the counter person. I know Elite Tattoo isn't gonna lose sleep or go broke over this lol but it's super shitty customer service. So for that reason, I give 2 's for not only wasting my mom's time but mine as well. read more

Flew in for a January vacation and did not want to leave without a cool tattoo. Cassiti was my artist and she was amazing-10/10! Very thorough (and talented) before, during and after the tattoo-bonus is she's the nicest person ever. I have had compliments on my tattoo every day since. The studio was insanely clean and cute, anyone would fell comfortable coming here. Private rooms were a great bonus. Also, the front desk personnel and booking process put this place over the top. Warning-their merch is incredible too, be ready to pick up a few things on your way out. read more

My wife and I took our 18 year old daughter for her first tattoo. From the moment we walked in the door I was impressed as the shop was immaculately clean and decorated for the holiday season. We spoke to the gentleman at the front desk who couldn't have been nicer. All of the appointments were already taken for the day so we had to book one for the next morning with Cassiti. All three of us got the same tattoo and we couldn't be happier. Cassiti was fantastic. She was able to reassure my wife( 2nd tattoo) and daughter to the point where while being tattooed they didn't even flinch. When it was my turn she not only added the same tattoo that my wife and daughter got but she darkened up an old faded heart that I had gotten 15 years ago. She's not only meticulous with her craft she's a very nice person. We highly recommend Elite Ink Tattoos and Cassiti. read more

Chris Foster did my second baby's footprint. Not only was Chris super attentive and helpful with deciding my placement, he was quick and very efficient. The vibe was absolutely immaculate. Everyone is super friendly; I got lucky and was able to get my tattoo done while on vacation due to there being a cancellation. That being said, it's probably best to book in advance but they do try their best to get you in if they can if you don't book in advance. The shop is very clean and organized Joe is easy to talk to and an awesome tattoo artist. I wanted something to cover an open area on my upper arm and gave some inspo pics of some bumble bees to Joe. He did a great job at capturing what I wanted style wise and color. Highly recommend this shop if you're in the area!! read more

I have been to Elite Ink Tattoos multiple times and always had Joe Winkler do my work. I do not get large detailed ink but each one is important and meaningful so I expect the same attention to detail. I get this from Joe. This trip included 3 separate family related tattoos and I couldn't be more proud to have them. It took me a couple of years to put together what I wanted and Joe met my wishes. I also have to mention the counter staff. They're pretty amazing too. Very kind and professional. I'll be back for more. read more

Specialties

Our studio has been voted "Best of" 29 times since opening it's doors in 2006. We have seven (7) year round artists that have private tattoo rooms. We offer free WiFi, complimentary bottled water and coffee, free consultations. Because we are a higher volume studio, we recommend scheduling an appointment. If you are local please come by during business hours (7 days 10am-9pm) for booking information. If you are not local to the area, submit a Booking form via our website. We will take walk-ins on a first come, first serve based on artist availability and the tattoo you are wanting. Any pricing information will be done in person or via the Booking section of our website.

History

Established in 2006.

Elite Ink Tattoos was opened in 2006 by Bobby Lanz. We started as three room studio and have grown to an eight room shop over the years, thanks to our loyal, growing clientele. We are a custom studio that prefers appointments to be made in person, in advance with a non-refundable deposit but we do take walk-ins on a first come, first serve based on artist availability.

I went in as a walk-in and was met by the friendliest, coolest staff and the vibe was immaculate. Jake had availability for my tattoo, and he was incredible from start to finish. I couldn't find exact reference photos for the tattoo I had in mind, so I came in with a collection of tattoos saved on my phone that highlighted different concepts, line work, and details I liked. Jake genuinely seemed excited about the idea and took the time to go through every detail with me as we talked through how to bring the piece to life. He then drew up a design that captured exactly what I had envisioned. Once the stencil was ready, he was just as meticulous about placement as he was about the design itself. During the tattoo, you could tell how focused he was on making every detail perfect. Such a talented artist and genuinely great dude. He introduced a guy with long blond hair who instantly didn't look welcoming it was not a good vibe I felt. I began to tell him what I wanted and showed him what I had drawn up for reference. He said he can't do my tattoo in small text. He kept saying it would have to be this big with showing "this big" with his hands and the text size ( yes text size with his fingers) I couldn't compute or visualize the size on my arm, so I started saying this size and would show him, he seemed annoyed bc we kept talking about size and he actually gave me a tone of THIS SIZE, how many times do I have to show you! So I said you can touch me to show me bc I can't visualize the size you are showing on my arm. (#1 bc it was huge in comparison to what I wanted) he said he don't touch people without permission so he didn't just want to assume, he also didn't ask.. so this added to me getting the vibe he didnt want to do my tattoo. So he actually was meaning to upsize the small tattoo I wanted to a huge half inner arm tattoo for $240!!! The text was Let it Go Let it Out on top of each other. I didn't like his demeanor of not being interested and him changing the tattoo to such a large piece bc it would eventually bleed. Then he wanted to tell me, you'll find someone to do it but I don't bc it eventually bleeds after about two years and doesn't look right. Which another artist at a different shop said the same thing but he ended up doing it larger than I wanted but much smaller than this guy tried to say it had to be(without him thinking it would bleed later). See my other review of that tattoo. Since I felt from the beginning he didn't want to help me, didn't want to touch me or just show real interest in helping me understand the size needed, him also turning my small dainty typewriter font with 6 words on top of each into a mini sleeve tattoo for $240!! I chose to leave. I don't know if he was up charging me to make more money and using the future bleeding as an excuse, but I just didn't think a small tattoo couldn't be done smaller than what he said with also maintaining the integrity of his work and style. I felt he just wasn't interested in helping me. Let It Go Let it Out or Let it Go Girl Let it Out. = $240 increased size to 2/3 of my inner arm! No thank you.

Hmmmm i dont even know where to begin. So i have had these 2 tattoos on my arm that i got when i was 18 and 19 which once i got into my 20s i realized i hated them. After years of procrastinating i finally decided to start looking for a cover up. after going to multiple shops and constantly being turned down i finally found a shop called (Seppuku Tattoo). The guy was a complete asshole he did half of the cover up, refused to finish it, and butchered it sorta speek. A little over a year later after trying to figure out how the hell i was going to find someone to finish this already half finished cover up of mine and constantly being turned away from shops i decided while on vacation last week to check out Elite Ink Tattoos. The first few people i spoke to at the shop were a bit hesitant when i showed them my arm and the amount of work that this tattoo cover up entailed. However the owner Bob walked up and asked me to show him and give him some backround information about what was going on with my tattoo. Almost instantly he said " yea i can do it, im not afraid of a challenge" he even seemed kinda pumped about it. after talking and going over some detailes he took some pictures and we made an appointment for that following Saturday. To top it off saturday was his only day off for the whole week and agreed to come in just for me because i was leaving sunday to go back home. He was extremely professional and completely rid me of all and any anxiety i may have had about how the hell i was going to fix my tattoo. Him and everyone at the shop made me feel very comfrptably and didnt judge me like many other shops ive been to have. I came in on saturday morning and he went to work. took about 7 hours and i dont know how the hell he did it but he did an amazing cover up. even the other artist in the shop were all blown away at what an amazing jop he did. The shop is very clean. Bob takes his job and goes above and beyond to make u feel confortable and to make sure everything is done properly. this is truly what you would call a professional tattoo shop and each artist working there is specifically hand picked by him to make sure they meet his stadards of both talent and professionalism. My girlfirend who had no intentions of getting a tattoo ended up getting one when she came to pick me up on account of how amazing mine came out. plus we all know how addicting tattoos are so she ovbiously couldnt resist. she to felt the same way about the shop, the people working there, and the outcome of her tattoo. My experience there was so awesome that i will drive the 11 hours again the next time i want a tattoo just because of how much i trust them and because i know how good of a job they can and will do. Elite has always had a great reputation in the Myrtle Beach area, so I had no hesitation in booking an appointment here. I live out of the area now, so instead of stopping in, I made a request on their website. Michael was quick and courteous with his response and set up a consultation and appointment that worked for my schedule. When I met with the artist, Adam, the shop was clean, organized, and the process was professional and clear. The desk was ready with paperwork and the people working behind it (the first day, I believe Michael, the next, a young woman with dark hair-- sorry, I didn't catch your name. ) were both fantastic with customer service. I absolutely suggest the consultation; when I came back a few days later to get the work done, several people were asking artists to make major changes to drawings because the customer never had a consult. IMO, that is really unfair to the artists, who work hard to create something that lasts forever. While these people made their decisions and several walk-ins got in line to be worked with, I walked in, signed my paperwork, then Adam had my design printed at the perfect size, and we got started. The room was clean, the process was clearly explained to me, and Adam was a pro. Adam's work is exceptional. Even I wasn't so sure what I was looking for, but after meeting with him and showing him pictures of tattoos, he produced a tattoo just three days later that puts both my other tattoos to shame. His clean, precise line work was exactly what I was looking for. His more traditional work is also really impressive, and his art hangs on the walls in his room. He was also very comfortable to work with and created a calm environment. Very impressed overall. TL;DR: I will never get another tattoo anywhere else. read more

The shop was clean, I was able to book online and the artist, Adam B seemed professional and honest. That's the end of the positives. When I booked online I received an email from Michael McDonald, the office manager. I had stated what I wanted for my tattoo, a ring finger tattoo and explained the design and he told me that they would not guarantee the work which I understood. We agreed on a date, time, etc and I paid the excessive deposit. That was the end of the communication until we showed up. The artist said he had no idea what we wanted so I pulled up my picture and he immediately said that no one in the shop would do my tattoo. I said I had already set it up with Michael and so we showed the emails. Then the artist and another woman look at everything and said he MUST have assumed I meant the TOP of the finger because that is all they would do and that the side of the finger is the PAD and where the sweat glands are. (Both of which are not true). They tried to convince me to change my tattoo and then took over twenty minutes to figure out how to do my refund, which they seemed to not want to do even though they were the ones who had assumed and not followed up with me. This was poor communication on their part. I delayed my travel plans for this appointment. Complete waste of time. Poor business operation. read more

While on vacation from Baltimore, two friends and I decided to search around for a place to get tattoos, this was my first. We searched and read reviews for many places and as soon as we found Elite, we knew it was the right place. We walked in and were able to make appointments for a few days after, exactly when we wanted. The manager Mike was super helpful, insanely nice and definitely made us feel comfortable immediately. He hooked us up with Jake and we came back for our appointments a few days later. The quality of work was incredible. Jake is insanely talented and very personable. We all felt like we weren't just clients but friends with these guys right away. The parlor is immaculate and the work is not over priced. They answered all of our questions and made sure everything was done to our taste. Upon leaving, the guys made sure we knew we were always welcome back if we were to visit Myrtle again, even if just to say hey. These guys definitely made my first tattoo a better experience than I would have imagined and the two others who have already been tattooed definitely had an incredible experience as well. I just had my first tattoo done at Elite Ink Tattoo and I absolutely love it! Jake was my artist and he is absolutely amazing! We were in myrtle beach for vacation and my fiancé and I decided we wanted matching tattoos. We looked up Tattoo shops in the area and Elite had the best reviews and the artwork looked amazing so we stopped in to get a quote and schedule an appointment. Jake greeted us right away and we told him what we wanted. He quoted us at a very reasonable price and so we came back Friday to have our turtles done! When we came in Friday it did not take very long at all. He had already drawn the turtles up and they looked awesome! My fiancé wanted a regular turtle while I wanted something a little more girly. I was visiting the beach for a few days and decided to get a tattoo. I looked at all the shops in the area and elite had the best reviews. So I contacted them and they said I ought to make an appointment, since it was still their busy season. I stopped by the shop around 745pm on Monday and went in to make an appointment. I went in and talked with Joe about what I wanted. He said it would be no problem and said he could do it right then! So I paid up and waited a bit while he got everything together. The tattoo is very simple and and Joe did a great job. I walked out of there at 830pm. The tattoo is great! Nice clean lines, straight, and exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend them! Great staff and very accommodating! They are located in a shopping center with a bunch of different tattoo shops, but honestly from the outside, at least, it looks better than the others. I have met several artists here over the years and they are bar none the most professional in the area. Bobby the owner holds a high standard on his artists/employees, as well as his facilities. The ladies at the front are professional and very welcoming. Super friendly. Everyone presents well and makes you feel welcome. Hank is my usual artist there and the guys a fucking Ink Jedi. Or Sith, not sure what his preference is lol Hanks work is amazing and his tattooside manner is spot on. Very friendly and informative. Takes great pride in his work every time. My boyfriend wanted a tattoo for his birthday (1st one). After researching online several tattoo shops in Myrtle Beach we decided to go to Elite. He knew what he wanted but looking through several photos online we just couldn't find exactly what we were looking for. Adam worked with our idea and came up with a draft right off the top of his head. The next day we went in for the appointment and the final drawing was amazing! Adam not only did an amazing job on the tattoo but he made my boyfriend feel very comfortable (he is afraid of needles). Bruce Davis and the team at Elite Tattoo did a fantastic job for my wife and I on short notice. We were in MB celebrating our 25th anniversary and decided to get matching tattoos as gifts to each other. The receptionists were kind, helpful, and patient while we discussed what we wanted, our budget, and the style of work we were looking for. They quickly matched us with Bruce Davis, who proved a fair price, and got us in with him right off Sunday morning. Bruce did a great job translating our ideas to stencils and understanding the differences in style - my wife with a cartoon and me with more of a sketch look. Bruce was great to work with. My best friend and I are nurses and met in nursing school, so we wanted something small to represent our journey. Chris was amazing! Our design choice was a small heart with an ekg running through it, and even though they are small, Chris's line work is perfect! He is super funny, personable and professional, and with us being nurses, cleanliness is very important. Chris was meticulous about sanitizing everything and his workstation was pristine. All my previous ink has been done in NY by one person. Since moving to SC I've been unimpressed with artists until a good great recommended Elite. As soon as I walked in I knew it was the place to be. Friendly staff, so clean and welcoming. After showing an idea, I felt comfortable with the artist (Bruce Davis) and made my appointment. The day came and he showed me his rendition compared to my idea and instantly knew his was way better then I imagined. I felt comfortable enough to give him free reign as to his design. From the moment I walked in I was welcomed and I talked with the guy at the front desk about getting a tattoo and showed him the design. Immediately he got another artist who could do it, he gave me a price and basic info I'd need to know since it was my first tattoo. I had Mike Kerin who assured me everything was clean and sterile and showed me the needles being opened and everything. He did a wonderful job on my tattoo and I may be getting another one soon! My very first tattoo with a ton of meaning to me. Place was recommended by friends and I will say it was quite pricey for what I had done. Infinity tattoo with semi colon on my wrist ($120.00). I knew the minimum was $100 going in so I just assumed something this small would be $100. I proceeded to tip on top of that as he is an artist. It is clean inside and very chic. My artist was super nice, accommodating and checked on me thru the process. It was nowhere near the pain I thought. I only give 4 stars due to pricing. We had a friend pass suddenly who we were suppose to be vacationing with in Myrtle Beach in July. Instead of vacationing with him, we were getting memorial tattoos and thought what a better time than while in MB. We stopped in Elite based off other reviews (we did our research first). WOW what an amazing experience. From Courtney (?) at the front desk to Allen's 3 tattoos in less than 3 hours to the guy at the desk that night (didn't catch his name). We were supposed to go to another shop but the artist was no call no show. We ended up calling this store and they happened to have an artist available and we were able to walk in and get the paperwork done, meet and talk with the artist, and get tattoos within the hour. The store was very clean, fun, and aesthetically pleasing. The artist was Allen and he happened to be familiar with the area we were from which made conversation easy. I see many low ratings and of course everyone has their opinion. I can say that I have tats from quite a few states and a few from Germany and England. In opinion Elite ranks right up there with the best. I had two and my wife had three done at elite. People always stop and compliment us and ask questions. People, you get what you pay for. The staff at Elite are second to none. That is not only represented by their return customers but from the numerous times they have won best at the beach.
