So we checked out this spot, the ambiance was Casual the staff was limited for the volume that was there. The one waiter was excellent and extremely helpful. Very nice option for an airport. One word of warning: some of the entrees are huge! I ordered the beef brisket plate and could only finish 70% of it (despite showing up hungry and liking all items on the plate). I generally expect airport food to be chaotic and rushed, so I entered into this with fairly low expectations. We were directed to sit at a corner booth, which was still dirty from the previous customers. We waited for 20 minutes to have our table wiped down. During this time I tried to flag down several servers walking by, but was told this wasn't their section as they walked away. When I ordered perogies, I was told rather brusquely that no they don't have perogies. Certainly not the worst service I've experienced, but not great. Another 40 minutes later we received our food, which was delicious but I don't think it was worth the wait. I will say though that we watched and heard other tables receive much more courteous service though so maybe a different visit would've gotten a better experience for us. read more

I figured I would grab a side salad at best, but scanning the QR phone, and looking at their menu, I was impressed. I never expected to see a couple salmon dishes at a BBQ joint named Pork & Pickle. I ordered the salmon salad, again, not expecting much. Out came the beautiful salad, and as I bit into the salmon, the juicy, flavorful, soft, bring, smoky, delicious flavor filled my mouth. The salad was dressed simply, just some olive oil and lemon juice, but it perfectly complimented the flavors rather than overpowering them. The fried capers were a nice treat. Didn't have many expectations when I sat down at Pork & Pickle, given my past experiences with mediocre airport dining. I was pleasantly surprised by my visit here. Love that they use real cheese curds on the poutine and the gravy was super yummy. The fish was nice and crispy, not overly greasy and I enjoyed the side of coleslaw accompanying the dish. The tartar sauce seemed house made and was a perfect foil to the crispy fish. The only part I wasn't wowed with was the pickle (and I am a pickle fan!), just something about the taste of it wasn't for me but not a big deal at all. The waiter Maurice was excellent, friendly, efficient and courteous. The restaurant has three breakfast items to choose from I had the breakfast BLT w/egg sandwich which came with tater tots. The sandwich was very good plenty of ingredients, although I would suggest they cut it in half it was a bit awkward to eat. The tater tots were cold unfortunately. Maurice came over to ask how my meal was and I mentioned the cold potatoes he immediately had a fresh hot order placed for me and I was happy. I had a salad at the Pork and Pickle restaurant in the Montreal Airport. At the end of my meal I found a piece of hard blue plastic. I advised the server who was very nice, and expected to not pay for my meal. The manager came over and verbally attacked me, saying I ate the whole salad, and if I didn't pay he would call security and I would miss my flight. He was accusatory, angry and aggressive. Upon orderI got the meal, our flight will depart in an hour so I urged the waiter to send our meal quickly. Here's the most disappointing part. The meals arrived and I was eager to take a bite of the burger since I had an emptied stomach the entire morning and afternoon. After I took the first bite, the patty was dried AF and unseasoned and tasted extremely bitter. At first I didn't react because I couldn't believe what I was eating could actually get present to a customer in a restaurant! So I took a few more bites because I was extremely hungry. My mom's order arrived and took a bite, she say it was bitter and overcooked. At this point I need to confront the waiter, the waiter agreed to exchange my mom's order but refused to exchange mine because I almost finished it. So anyway, the exchanged one arrived and I thought to myself this time it could taste decent not like last time the extreme burnt charcoal crisp like dead zombie! My mom cut the burger in half and share the other half. I was yet in disbelief as I was totally blown away with epic disappointment! The exchanged burger was not burnt to lava crisp but still quite burnt on the outside. The patty was not seasoned enough and the sauce doesn't help either! In other words it WAS NOT close to be even good. It tasted bad! I didn't expect airport restaurants to have 5 stars meals but at least please don't ever present anything like both burgers that burnt to a crisp that weren't edible for any living beings. Even if I rush the meal and if it was either raw or overcooked, don't send it to the customers, I would do it all over to make it edible. It doesn't seem as though anyone working here actually WANTS to work here... it took quite some time for anyone to even notice us and sit us - just beckoning for us to follow them and not actually speaking to us. Once we got our table we sat for about 20 minutes before anyone came over. It was very crowded and messy. Our waiter, John, was rude from the beginning. It's very clear he doesn't care about you or his job. He never welcomed us to the restaurant or introduced himself. (I completely understand being busy and stressed but you can still be polite and accommodating.) He took our order and we had to ask for waters. Our food came about 30 minutes later and the order was missing items. We had to ask for utensils and were only brought one set. The food itself was alright. I got the veggie burger - it's beyond meat with random vegetables thrown in. The fries were tasty and the house sauce was pretty good. John never asked how the food was or refilled our waters. We asked for the check and waited another 20 minutes before he came back over. I have worked in the service industry and am a big supporter of tips being earned. I personally don't believe this service deserved a tip... They have one of the card reader machines where you have to select the tip amount before you pay. When he presented it to me I said "no, thank you" and he was quick to respond "the tip is not automatically included." I let him know I understood and he got irritated and questioned if I was really not going to tip him. This caught the eye of surrounding tables as I calmly stated I did not want to leave one. Whether you're just in for a quick drink or a full meal Pork & Pickle delivers. They're always very quick to seat you, take your orders and bring your food and drinks. And the food is straight up good. In the mornings the egg and BLT sandwich is outstanding, I actually crave it. And any of the pub fare for supper is better than average. I particularly enjoy the fish and chips and their gravy is delish. Most importantly you can't beat the staff in here, they're just awesome. Super efficient and downright friendly. You got the pulled pork sandwich, which comes with fries, a pickle, and a pulled pork sandwich. The fries had no seasoning, the pork was very dry, and I believe the me you stated it would have bbq sauce but I didn't see any - so they whole sandwich itself was dry as well. The sandwich is also 17.49 and for that bad quality, it truly isn't worth it. Welp when your flight gets delayed by two hours, might as well check out the new airport resto. In the domestic departures area, near gates 1/2, where the old Moe's used to be is now the Pork and Pickle gastropub. It has a nice clean look with rustic decor, barn board, jars of beans... and what looks like a well stocked bar and a decent selection of beer on tap. I had one of the specials for lunch, a grilled chicken breast served with potatoes, salad and asparagus. The chicken was well cooked and moist, and the potatoes were flavourful, but there were only three sad overbooked tiny asparagus spears. The arugula salad was nice and fresh but swimming in dressing. Service was friendly and prompt, I'd say it took about 10-15 minutes to get my order. All in all, a pretty decent meal for airport food, and a definite step up from the old Moe's. Would eat there again. I wouldn't go there for a meal unless you have at least a half hour so not a place to grab a quick bite before your flight. read more
