Sitting at the counter gives you an intimate view into everything happening in the kitchen. The energy was fast-paced and precise--it honestly felt like I was inside an episode of The Bear. The chef curated an incredible five-course tasting, and the sommelier paired each course with wines that complemented everything perfectly. I won't even try to list every dish because I honestly don't remember them all. The menu isn't fixed, and I imagine each experience is a little different. I was too busy enjoying every bite and soaking in the experience to focus on memorizing details. Ken took exceptional care of me from start to finish, making sure I was comfortable and that every course met the moment. The chef also came over to chat, which made the experience feel even more personal. The bar was already high, and Marcus exceeded it.

The meal started with caviar on a latke that was crispy on the outside and creamy inside. Next was a bluefin tuna tartare with wasabi cream and radishes, this dish was beautiful and had the perfect balance of textures. Our third dish was a caramelized scallop with a dairy free hollandaise sauce, the sauce was tart and absolutely delicious. The next dish was the stand out for me, steamed cod with the most amazing vegetables--this was absolute perfection! The last dish was a cherry sorbet inside a vanilla meringue cup which was so pretty! Really appreciated this addition, as finding dairy free and gluten free desserts can be challenging. Absolutely recommend this experience. Thank you for a wonderful meal! Also a note, we had breakfast at this restaurant as well and everything was great. The chia pudding is amazing! There are dairy free and gluten free options for breakfast!

More Montreal (2 of 2)…read more My friend who recently visited Montreal stayed near the Lucien L'Allier Metro station. I consider that to be a good base near the Financial District. Near here is Rue Crescent, which is a restaurant street mimicking St.-Denis and has those outdoor tables on platforms that jut out into the street. Being near McGill and Concordia Universities, the area has a huge contingent of cool kids and not that dispersed of a demographic. That's probably why I've never eaten on Rue Crescent ... until yet. I'm not a cool kid and never have been. I looked for casual grub on my phone and found Le Warehouse. I also glanced at the menu. It seemed like I stumbled on fish and chips at an opportune moment when they were priced on special. I think of this as the classic dish of the British Isles and, even though I have none of this heritage, it's a dish I very much like and order often. The quality always ranges from 3 to 5, so it's also reliable. The fish and chips platter was very good. Rather than being several pieces, it was a very large piece of cod. For the value received, I was not complaining. The place looks like so many other taverns in Montreal. I was happy to be eating inside. I was surprised to see people eating outside on the street platforms when it was humid and miserable that day. The service did the job, but it was a little nondescript. However, they were busy and I'm guessing they always are. I'm giving Le Warehouse 4 stars for the food and the value that outpaced the service and the ambiance. The food and the value are the main event, aren't they? Come here, walk up to those mezzanines that so many restaurants on Rue Crescent appear to be placed on, enjoy the trite woodsy tavern interior, and feast on a large platter of comfort food. I don't think I will ever become a fan of Rue Crescent, but I've now crossed it off the list by eating here at Le Warehouse.

I was part of a group of four people, and I was the only Black male in the party. Everyone else received their food, ate their meals, and even received their checks while I sat there waiting. I had ordered nothing complicated--just a plain burger and fries--yet I waited approximately one hour without anyone offering an explanation or update. Eventually, a different waitress brought my food after everyone else had already finished eating. By then, I told her I no longer wanted it because the entire dining experience had been ruined. The food looked like it had been thrown together at the last minute, and no one offered a sincere apology or took responsibility for what happened. What made the experience even worse was that my original waitress largely ignored me throughout the ordeal. There was no communication, no concern for the unreasonable delay, and no effort to make things right. As the only Black male in my group, I left feeling like I was treated differently. I can't say with certainty what motivated the service I received, but the way I was overlooked while everyone else was served left me questioning whether discrimination played a role. Regardless of the reason, no customer should be treated this way. I won't be returning, and I hope management takes this review seriously by looking into what happened and ensuring every customer is treated with the same level of respect and professionalism!!

We looked for the next best place to have drinks and dinner and we found this great place! The perfect place to have a date night, family night, or fine dine on your own. There was a variety of clientele on this particular night so it was buzzing. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant near the window which we liked. We ordered a nice bottle of Cab Franc, beef tartare, and a filet Mignon. Our server was great with recommendations and suggestions. Everything was fresh and well put together. The flavors of the beef tartare were rich and well crafted. The filet Mignon, was perfectly cooked to medium rare and the side dishes were just phenomenal.
