I love bagels and was so excited to hear that PopUp Bagels was coming to Birmingham! I finally made my way over to the Summit and made my first visit, of many I'm sure. The small store plays very loud music, the employees are energetic (some were dancing, am I in a bagels shop or a dance club?), the vibe is hectic but fun. Don't let the long line deter you because it moves very fast. There aren't that many bagel/schmear options, and most people already knew what they wanted to order. I ordered the three bagels pack and picked salt, everything, and sesame bagels, and the scallions schmear. Got my order before I even put my wallet back into my bag! Oh my, the hot bagel, salt flavor, was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. And the scallions schmear just added to an already delicious taste. $14 is a bit pricey for three bagels and a cream cheese, but the large amount of cream cheese alone is worth it. Guess I'll be buying more bagels from here.
I was excited to finally try out this place after seeing it would finally open in Alabama! The bagels here are fresh and have a great texture. I ordered the everything, plain, and poppy seed bagels (pictured is the everything) along with the jalapeño popper schmear, and everything tasted high quality. The service was incredibly quick, and the staff was friendly and engaged despite how busy it was. The atmosphere is lively and energetic, with that fun, bustling New York bagel shop feel. It's definitely not a quiet spot, but that's part of the experience. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that they only sell bagels in packs of three. Most days I'd prefer a single bagel, and $15 for three basic bagels with a schmear feels a bit pricey. They also have a fairly limited selection of bagel flavors. Overall, though, it's a great spot if you're craving a fresh, authentic-style bagel.
One day after the grand opening, and this place was poppin! There was a long line when we arrived, but that doesn't keep them from impressively quick service. They definitely have their system down to a science! The smallest number of bagels you can get is three, so we tried the salt, the poppyseed, and the everything with the limited time Alabama special - the sweet tea butter schmear! The bagels were warm, which is rare at a bagel shop. Everything was delish, and we can't wait to try the jalapeño popper shmear and hot honey shmear next time we're there!
PopUp Bagels is such a cute bagel concept store. These bagels are SO good. I ordered 2 everything and 1 plain with plain cream cheese. Despite arriving ~25 min prior to close, I was served promptly and these bagels were hot and fresh. The everything seasoning was so flavorful and had a nice hint of salt as well. I was also pleasantly surprised by how good the plain bagel was. The only reason giving 4 stars is that PopUp Bagels requires you to purchase 3 bagels plus a tub cream cheese. I would prefer 1 bagel with cream cheese on the bagel (not a tub) and that the store is in an odd location in the very back of The Summit.
We fell for the hype. The bagels were really tasty and hot. The schmear had a weird grainy texture, but it tasted fine. My main issue was the atmosphere. The music was so loud that, not only could I not hear the person behind the counter taking my order, but my watch gave me a loud environment warning! I would steer clear if you do not enjoy loud noises. The price was kind of steep: 3 bagels plus a tub of cream cheese for $14. The bagels are not pre-sliced. I would go back, but due to the price and overwhelming atmosphere, it won't be a regular thing.
I went here after seeing this place everywhere on my social media and it did not disappoint. I got the 6 bagels with 4 salt and 2 everything bagels along with the scallion and cinnamon butter dips. The bagels came out litterally as soon as I tapped my card and they were still steaming. I mean there's not much more to say other than the bagel quality is top of the notch and the dips are great. 81/100 it was amazing.
This bagel shop just launched in the Summit shopping center (near Taco Mama) in Birmingham. It's a loud (in a fun way) and trendy small shop that features bagels and schmears. They sell the bagels piping hot and starting in packs of three. The one issue for me here is the packs of three, I'd much prefer to buy a single bagel most days. And it's $15 for the basic three bagels and a schmear, a bit on the pricy side. But I think it will do well in the trendy Summit with the loud music and enthusiastic employees. They feature special schmears, as an example the opening weekend they had a sweet tea butter option. The specials change regularly, and they have drinks available too. The bagels were somewhat limited, everything, plain, salt, poppyseed and sesame seed bagels are it. For me that's also a bit limiting, I'd like some Asiago and whole wheat bagel options. The everything bagel I had was delicious and crazy hot. The schmear I chose was scallion cream cheese, a signature (not rotating) flavor. It was also excellent. These folks are off to a good start and have a friendly staff, check them out. Oh and easy parking at the Summit.

Alabama's first "Popup Bagel" has opened at The Summit! We loved our experience! Here's what we ordered: Poppy Bagel + Hot Honey Cream Cheese Sesame Bagel + Cinnamon Sugar Cream Cheese Everything Bagel + Jalapeño Popper Cream Cheese My favorite was hands down the Everything Bagel with the Jalapeño Popper Cream Cheese (savory, creamy, and just the right amount of spice!) My husband's favorite was the Sesame Bagel with the Cinnamon Sugar Cream Cheese (which was the perfect sweet and savory bite!) Highly recommend! Located next to Taco Mama & Chopt! read more
We stopped by at 11:15 Saturday morning and the line was very short, but lots of people were eating at the tables outside. The only seating is outside. We got 3 bagels + 1 schmear for $14 (before tax / tip). Salt, Poppy, and an Everything bagel + Plain Schmear. It all tasted very good!! The employees were very nice and extremely outgoing. Not sure if they always blast music in there, or if it's a new place trying to draw people in. Apple Watch gave a loud music warning. read more
Ordered online to pick up the next morning at 8:30am. The online portal does not have all the schmear options available, tried to add a note to sub in other options only to find out they were out during pick up. Friendly staff, got my order completed and ready on time and correctly. Very small space for line, ordering, waiting, pick up, and coffee. Bagels are $$$ read more

The bagels are objectively great. However, their environment is so loud & overstimulating, being assaulted with 2010s club music & their asinine rules about ordering a pint of cream cheese for 1 bagel. Also the guy called a pigeon "a pussy". read more
