However, I wont dare purchase anything from Target or my local grocery store. Instead I head to the Dollar Tree. Here I can stock up on my faves, like gummy bears, gumballs and sour patch kids. And regardless of how much I purchase, I never spend my entire paycheck, which is nice. An extra perk of shopping at the Dollar Tree is I can also score cute seasonal items to decorate indoor and outdoors for the holidays, as well as household cleaning supplies. I even once found some cute stem glassware for when I host game/wine nights - they don't look cheap and actually rival other stemware I purchased from West Elm. In short, you can pretty much find anything you need here, on a budget and it's worth checking out if you haven't already. That being said, be prepared for the store to sometimes be extremely low on stock for candy and other snacks. They also randomly close, for no reason it seems. Eg, you show up on Monday at 2PM and they are closed...why? Also, there usually doesn't seem to be much staff, so don't expect to find anyone on the floor to help you. Usually only two, at most, registers are open. I've never had to wait in line forever though, so I'm not complaining.

Recently came during the holiday season to pick up a few items that I needed to finish my cooking- all at a discounted price. The aisles still had plenty of Christmas decorations to choose from despite it being Christmas eve-- and the aisles weren't trashed. Maybe they were but the employees had done a great job making sure the items were displayed neatly and available for purchase. Of course, typical dollar store that only has one land open for check out. If there is a line, I normally walk around and get my steps in while the line dwindles down a little. Nine times out of ten that works out in my favor to have a less wait time in line--and I find something else to buy too!

Make no mistake, this is on the North side of the highway, in the same plaza as HEB, and is new (within the last 2 yrs), has a great selection, is a much larger store, has some nasty employees and some nice ones, and is where we got plenty of our cat stuff and our facemasks too. It's enormous and relaxed, and the lines aren't usually too long, but there are other issues with it, and as I said, some of the very unfortunate and mean employees are one of the issues. I like Ross Beef, but I like buying muscle shirts more.
