Prior to our arrival, Brandie contacted us and informed us that our original cabin reservation had been canceled due to reported bed bugs. We were reassigned to another cabin, assured it would be prioritized and ready before check-in, and told we could stay four days free of charge because of the inconvenience. After arriving and waiting for hours, we were finally allowed into the replacement cabin only to find dirty sheets stuffed in a closet, stained bedding, dirty and rusty kitchen utensils, and overall cleanliness concerns throughout the cabin. Given the circumstances surrounding the original cancellation, we did not feel comfortable staying and immediately left the property. We never stayed overnight. What happened next was even more frustrating. We were provided documentation showing a refund amount, leading us to believe the matter was being resolved. Later, Ashley with corporate informed us that we would also need to submit a refund request through Hipcamp. We followed those instructions, only to have the refund request denied by Brandie and Dickie (management) with Lake Buchanan Resort even after we had been provided a refund receipt and despite never staying at the property. The lack of communication, consistency, and accountability throughout this process has been unacceptable. We took time off work, purchased supplies and groceries, and planned our holiday weekend around this trip. Instead, we were left without a vacation, without a stay, and without the resolution we were led to believe had already been approved. Unfortunately, this experience was mishandled from beginning to end. Potential guests deserve to know exactly what happened before choosing to book here. Extremely disappointing experience and poor management. I do not recommend this place to anyone. We have kept records of all communications, refund documentation, and correspondence related to this matter. We hope management will review the situation and do what is right.

A couple years ago we swore we'd never be back because the hosts were essentially harassing us over every detail of our group (we tend to take about 10-15 camp sites, which is more than half of the park. This year was the best ever. The hosts, Mike and Annette, were AMAZING. They knew about our experience in the past and knew to give us the ground rules up front, and did it in the nicest way. They were constantly checking in to make sure we were having a great time, they hosted movie nights for the kids, drove the train around the park with the littlest ones, and just made sure our experience was amazing. We already booked a week for next year and can't wait. We hope Mike and Annette stay for many years!

I emailed the owners of this place and said my doctors have advised me to stay home since I am high risk and they offered only half back. We are 11 days out of travel dates and I get a to bad so sad. Also be advise they do not allow ESA animals even with a doctors letter. Run from this place stay at either Willow Point Big Chief or go on up to Tow it will be worth the drive to go to Tow.

Check in and out were both effortless. Sadly, this was my first vacation of the year. So, visiting here off season was perfect for us. It was peacefully quiet and relaxing, with plenty of space inside the camper and out to unwind and enjoy this getaway. However, I can well imagine the fun you could have in warmer weather with all the additional amenities they have to offer. Mom and I really want to go back for some kayaking! Special bonus points for being truly dog-friendly and not charging crazy huge additional fees. Vacation This past weekend, friends invited us to stay…read moreovernight with them at Oasis Lake Buchanan in their RV. Our first impression of the property was mixed. The lakefront location is beautiful, the water level was high, and there was a nice breeze throughout our stay. However, the property itself appeared somewhat run-down. The playground was covered in cobwebs and looked like it hadn't been maintained recently. We also noticed a significant ant problem around the campsite, and our friends had to remove several active wasp nests after arriving. Unfortunately, the biggest issue wasn't the property--it was our interaction with the manager. Late Saturday evening, my friend, who had rented the RV site, began receiving a series of text messages from the manager, Josh, complaining about the number of vehicles parked at the site and warning of additional charges. After reading the messages myself, I was surprised by how confrontational and aggressive the tone was. The following morning, as we were preparing to launch our jet skis at the boat ramp marked for Oasis guests, Josh ran over yelling that the boat ramp was private property. My friend--the paying guest who had rented the RV site--tried to have a conversation with him, but Josh remained focused on the extra vehicle and repeatedly threatened to call the sheriff over the threatening text conversation that took place the night before. (There is nothing in the Texas Penal Code about "hurt feelings.") Rather than calmly explaining the rules or working toward a solution, the interaction quickly became hostile. The situation escalated further when Josh began using profanity, including multiple F-bombs, within earshot of my children. At that point, any chance of a respectful conversation was gone. (Texas Penal defines this as "Disorderly Conduct - Language. A class c misdemeanor.) Shortly afterward, he walked away, and that was the last interaction we had with the little angry man. What made the confrontation even more confusing was that, during this entire incident, there were no other guests on the property. The aggressive response seemed completely disproportionate to the situation. Our friends were ultimately told they were "banned" from returning. While the lakefront location itself is very nice, our experience with management overshadowed everything else. Customer service matters, and unfortunately this was one of the most unpleasant interactions I've experienced at a campground. We won't be returning.
