I had an extremely frustrating experience with this office today. Before my appointment, I specifically called ahead and explained that my current State ID reflects my married name, while the birth certificate paperwork reflects my maiden name. I asked whether bringing my certified legal name-change documents would be sufficient, and I was explicitly told yes. I made the trip to the office with everything I was instructed to bring: a valid government-issued ID and certified name-change documentation. Despite this, the clerk refused to notarize my paperwork for the exact issue I had already disclosed beforehand. This situation was completely avoidable and ended up being a huge waste of my time. I urgently need a certified copy of my birth certificate in order to obtain a new ID, which is why I took the extra step of calling in advance to confirm the requirements before coming in. lack of competency. So while your response emphasizes that the paperwork needed to be "reviewed in person," that review ultimately concluded that official court-certified proof of my legal name change was somehow insufficient to establish that I was the same person -- which is difficult to take seriously. The problem was never that approval was not "guaranteed." The problem was that I followed the instructions your office gave me, arrived with the requested documentation, and still had my time wasted because you do not understand how to handle a straightforward legal name-change situation or were unwilling to exercise reasonable judgment. After reading through many of your other Yelp/Google reviews, it also appears this is not an isolated incident. There seems to be a consistent pattern of dismissive behavior, poor communication, and customers being blamed after relying on guidance provided by your office. I needed a form notarized and my usual place misplaced their notary...where did that nice lady go? I Googled 'notary near me' and I'm so glad I did because Poppin Notary popped up (sorry). They're located by Southern Kitchen so it wasn't hard to find. Parking was easy and they're open until 7. I called and Mr. Riles told me to come over whenever I was ready. The whole process took about 10 minutes tops...only because I was fascinated by all the pens on the table. Mr. Riles was friendly, helpful, and curious. I will definitely be back. I called this place to see if my package was there and I didn't have my tracking #. He tells me I need to get it. So I finally get there and give him my tracking #. This guy still didn't give me my package because it was a different name on there. I tried giving him email proof of my office address and my real name. He still didn't give me my package. I gave my car receipt with my name and the address to match the box address. Finally after, phone calls to showing up to his business... it took me almost 30 minutes to get my package. I use their virtual mailbox service through iPostal1 so that I can use a different address on my business mail than my home address. It's really helpful when I get mail returned to sender, and have dropped by multiple times to pick up letters. The staff is always very friendly and quick, and the virtual mailbox service has been great. read more

I booked this service to notarize my paperwork to refinance my home. It took me a few attempts to get someone on the line. That should have been my first warning. Finally got a person on the phone to book a mobile notary. He was really uncertain about what to do That should have been my 2nd warning, but I booked anyway. Next day notary was supposed arrive, they were late, precharged $150 and refused to notarize documents. Said my funds would be returned. Did not return my funds and did not return calls. They also disputed my chargeback. B**sh*t service, will be filing a complaint with state licensing. Complaint of scam and poor service. read more

Great place if you're in a pinch! I've never been to a "Notary" business before, so wasn't sure exactly what to expect. The atmosphere was very cheerful, and inviting. I was also put at ease with the fact that they were respecting the current "COVID-19" protocols, so made me feel safe. The process was fast, efficient and it the price was unexpectedly inexpensive. A wonderful experience from start to finish. Early this morning, around 6:00 am, I messaged Poppin Notary on their website. I requested to make an appointment to get a document notarized. I got an actual response within the hour, letting me know I could walk right in whenever it was convenient for me. When I arrived, there was plenty of parking and it was located in a very convenient spot. The inside was spotless and decorated so nicely. I was really, really impressed. (It even smelled wonderful!) We needed a notary for our will and decided to use poppin as I've passed their storefront many times. When we got there we found out we actually needed witnesses for a couple of the documents as well. Thankfully, they were able to supply two witnesses, giving us the opportunity to get everything done today. The people there were extremely friendly and helpful. The process was quick and they were very thorough. What I liked most about poppin is that they are a family owned business and they were able to help us on a Saturday. I found out they offer several other services, including cpr certification, hunting/fishing licenses, and others. I would recommend for any of these services. read more

This guy does not care about the WA law with regard to how to manage his notarial book. We paid him to notarize four documents and he did not write down the names of the documents in his book, AND he only stamped three of the four! My brother and I live in different states so we have to send all documents by FedExp. The attorney handed me a pile of paper that I sent to my brother to have my mother sign and then ShontA was supposed to notarize. However, when my brother returned the pile of documents, the attorney pointed out that the trust was signed by my mother, but not notarized! When I call ShontA he admitted that he could not tell me the names of the documents he notarized because all he wrote down was "POA", which was only one of the four documents. The other documents included in the pile were two deeds and a trust. ShontA asked me to email a copy of the signed documents for him to review, which I did, and now he is refusing to notarize the trust that my mother signed in front of him! I spoke with the WA Department of Licensing and an individual is allowed to identify their signature as their own, for purposes of obtaining a notarial seal on the document. But NO, ShontA isn't willing to do that, he is forcing my mother, who is now in a nursing home, to re-sign the exact document she signed in front of him before, AGAIN. A notary simply verifies the "identity" of the individual. This is the second time ShontA has notarized documents signed by my mother. An individual can either sign in front of the notary, or declare that they previously signed a document and that the signature the notary is viewing is the signature of the person they are identifying. This guy is playing games. He is just trying to make more money by pretending that my 93 y.o. mother has to sign in front of him again. He should just notarize the document that we ALREADY PAID TO HAVE NOTARIZED without any further hassle. This was HIS mistake. Four signatures paid for, four signatures noted in his book, four signatures in his receipt account but only THREE documents notarized. What a rip off and what a hassle. Don't use this guy unless you want to pay more than is necessary and you want to repeat the process multiple times. read more

If you want professionalism please look the other way.. They Cancelled my subscription for virtual mailbox services without notification So communication is horrible in business practices. Son & father signed for my package then Refused to allow me to receive my package they signed for After they cancelled my subscription so why even sign for it if it's cancelled. Unorganized & Unprofessional at its finest. Used poppin notary services for short term usage due to recent relocation but failed with poppin notary!! The cops was called by them because I'm asking for explanation so cops was really confused to why not even hand over the mail. Civil issue but I will handle in court!! read more

I was here around 2:00 on 9/29/22. The man who notarized my document (previously from Austin) was just really cool, awesome, welcoming and nice to work with. It was refreshing since so many people since Covid have been not so nice. Also, I went to 2 UPS stores before going to Poppin, waited in line, just to find out -no notary. Don't waste your time anywhere else, use Poppin, they come through in a pinch and are wonderful to work with! read more
