WHEN: Tues @6pm
Came here for dinner since Nopa was closed, and learned that POPL is where they serve burgers from the very same establishments! It's quite lovely inside, and I definitely felt like we are at a high end restaurant.
We started off with drinks:
BERRIES AND ROSE SODA - 45,00
This is their very own specialty bottled beverage WILD ROSE VINEGAR mixed with soda. Non-alcoholic, and their very own you can purchase by the lovely bottle for 235,00. It has that fermented/vinegary taste, balanced with the sweetness of the rose and berries.
THE BURGHER - 115,00
L.S.D. Gin, Apple Vermouth, Amaro.
Heck yeah I'm gonna get the cocktail called THE BURGHER. Obviously a POPL specialty. Although the American in me might think this was a small beverage, it was jam packed full of flavor and punch! I enjoyed it very much!
Here's what my partner and I split so we are able to try more things:
CHEESEBURGER - 150,00
Organic beef with red onions and cheddar.
If you order this next door in their take-away shop it's 125,00.
Well this is certainly a delicacy! Don't let it's simple appearance fool ya! Meat was juicy, and very flavorful, between such soft buns (but toasty and buttery on the outer edges.
CHANTERELLES - 120,00
Such fancy mushrooms in rich oily sauce! Got this to balance off the burger and justify that this is our side veggies. It's pretty good, and how they cooked it gave it a nice slight chewy texture.
FRIES - 55,00
Standard yummy fries (lightly seasoned and crispy) but what takes the cake is the KOMBU DIP!
KOMBU DIP - 15,00
Okay. WOW. Hold on....what IS this? There is something amazing about this simple dip. Pay the extra for this dip cuz it's worth it.
I had a wonderful time here. The decor was lovely, the restaurant wasn't loud, and Lily's Collins walked in to dine here! A celebrity sighting doesn't affect my overall ratings of coarse, it was just a fun happening. I highly recommend giving this place a shot. If you don't want to dine in, you can order take-out next door that is actually a bit cheaper! read more
