The buggers, mashed potatoes, fries & fried chicken. Yummy.

Our meal was very good. The wings & mash potatoes were on point. Very well seasoned. The waitress was very helpful. Taught us how to pronounce some of the words on the menu. The vibes were very relaxing & positive. Next to me you're in the area check out Halifax.

Portebello mushroom burger was amazing! I got the Berlin burger (only vegan option) and some steak fries. Got a little sloppy towards the end but very well put together. My friend tried the Montreux and she liked it but it wasn't her favorite. She said the sweet potato fries were super crispy though. Service was super fast and the servers were kind and on top of things.

Halifax is the place if you want some of the best burgers in Copenhagen. I've visited a few times and the experience has been consistently good. The Liverpool (their version of a Hangover Burger with egg and bacon) is the one. They will ask for how you want it cooked and get it right. Regular and sweet potato fries along with a good variety of sauces are also excellent. Great selection of beer (have tried Ale No. 16-excellent!) and the service has always been great.

Liverpool burger has the egg and Copenhagen Burger is in the background

We came here from the US and had just enough time to get something quick. Found this on Yelp and ordered the Gluten free burgers and French fries. Total hit. Terrific service and food.

I used to life in Copenhagen many years ago and Halifax was my go to place for some great Burgers and Beers. They use fresh, organic meat for all their burgers and you can of course decide how you want your meat cooked. The good thing is that they actually get you a medium rare burger if that's what you order. I also love how you can get goat cheese added and many other things. Everything is super fresh and the burgers are juicy. They also have great vegan and vegetarian options that taste well. The vibe is simply "cool" and they have a solid selection of mostly local beers on draft. The place stays open late which is a big plus, especially during the week.

Probably the best burgers in Copenhagen. When it comes to one of the classics of US cuisine, the burger, there are a million variations. Some like the big and juicy, some like more exotic ingredients other prefer spicy specimens etc. Whatever your preference is, you can't go wrong with Halifax, home to some of the biggest and juiciest burgers in Copenhagen. The real beauty of Halifax is that they allow you to customize every aspect of your burger. Whatever your taste buds desire, you can create a tailor-made marvel to appease them. Choose your bun, patty type (beef, chicken or veggie, different sizes available), choose the fillings (ranging from classic New York Style, a Texan twist with onion rings and BBQ sauce, a Swiss Sensation with a rosti instead of a bun etc.) and even add extra ones to make it truly your own (bacon, guacamole and blue cheese to name a few ingredients). Still not satisfied, then how about add some tasty sides, ranging from different types of fries, salads, onion rings and chicken wings. Wash it down with a tasty beverage and, if there is room left, they even have deserts. The quality of all the food they serve is exquisite. The only downside is the price. Expect to spend around 200DKK per person (even more, 300+ if you are peckish). Still, whenever I want a truly good burger (and believe me, I have been to many many many burger joints in Copenhagen) there only place I go to is Halifax. I never leave hungry or disappointed.

Halifax is a burger joint. Service was friendly and food came out pretty quick. Taste: It's a solid burger. But I don't think it's superior to options back in the state. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but I'm glad I tried it. Tip #1: GO DURING LUNCH TIME! All the burgers are at a discount making it still ~$12/13 each instead of $15/$16. Also the single patty was already really big, didnt need 2 patties. Tip #2: ORDER VINEGAR FRIES :D -- THEY WERE AMAZING. Never had anything like it, and we really really enjoyed them. Tip #3: ORDER ALOLI SAUCE for fries!

Nick and I enjoying a beer at this great burger joint . Great burgers and a mico-brewewey. Just had my first bite. Outstanding. The burger temperature was perfect. The dark bun was perfect. I highly recommend this burger place.

This place was open late (unlike other food options in Copenhagen) and the food was fantastic. Service was good. If you are picky abt your burger then you have to let them know how you want it cooked. We didn't get asked. Overall the burgers and beers were great

No bun, but there's a delicious cheeseburger under that fried egg.

Halifax is easily my default Go To for burgers in CPH. Admittedly, I have only ever tried The Liverpool (despite being lured in by other menu items, it's difficult for me to deny bacon AND eggs on my burger patty), but my friends tell me the other burgers here are all fabs. Fries are killer, and if you're opting for a low carb option, they do not skimp on the salad (read: it's huge) Consistently reliable quality at all the Halifax restaurants (have been to Frederiksberg, Østerbro, and Centrum restaurants) and haven't been disappointed yet. Sometimes there is a wait on weekend nights after about 7pm and they don't take reservations, so plan accordingly.

Burgers R Us!! It's not just Glasgow Burger joints popping up everywhere it's Copenhagen too! After a tough choice we decided to try here. Small and jumping a pure panic when we looked through the window so see how busy it was but we managed to nab the last table. I was right at the front door I was a bit worried it was going to be chilli but the uber friendly staff hurried late comers in to keep the heat in so it wasn't a problem. Speaking better English than I do the waitress helped us through the menu! I went for a smokey type burger with bacon and BBQ sauce. Then you choose your side - one big massive pot of mash potato, with a thin crispy layer over the top light fluffy and creamy in the middle. On the side an extra chunk of garlic butter to melt in. On top of all of that I choose the chipotle sauce! Worth the visit!

Burgers...... Burgers...... Burgers!!!! Sometimes I think I eat nothing else with the amount of burger joints springing up in Glasgow these days. Still that did not stop me eating them in Copenhagen as well when I was there. Halifax is brilliant. The staff are the friendliest, most welcoming people I can literally ever remember serving me in a restaurant. They helped with the menu, they let me taste the beer before ordering and they generally looked after us really really well. The burger menu is great. It's a build your burger type of place. You choose every part of it. From the style that includes toppings, to the bread, to the dip and the sides. I had a BBQ based lone star with mash and mayo. It's all very reasonably priced and the food is top notch.

Simply AWESOME!!! One of the best burgers I've ever had and excellent service in a great atmosphere. The place is jammers with people. I ordered the simple "Kobenhaven" as they call it, with coke and wedges. The meat was juicy the bun was fresh and the veges were crunchy. Let's not forget the sauces..aioli, chipotle etc..all great choices. They also do good beer and wine. Would definitely come back here again and recommend to all.

If you enjoy a…read moregreat flat top smash on your meat, I can highly recommend grabbing a bite at a Gasoline Grill. This is a small chain that appears to have a good following in Denmark. It reminds me a bit like In N Out Burgers of California fame. The menu is limited and they try to offer a few things other than burgers but really, if you don't like burgers or are a vegetarian, I'm not sure why you would choose to eat here. For those of us who are solid carnivores, this place is the bomb for a messy, smashed patty style burger. Did I mention messy? These are juice dripping down your chin kind of messy from a combination of velvety beef fat mixed with burger sauce (Gasoline Grill's version of thousand island dressing). They top their burgers with cheese if you want it, some red onion and a few sweet, crinkle cut pickles all surrounded by a soft brioche style bun. Simple but deeply satisfying. Their fries are institutionally frozen crinkle cuts, fried and hand salted before bagging. They are good but definitely play distant second to their burgers. The downsides here are they are limited on service and on places to eat. This location at 1:30pm had 2 cooks and a cashier promoting a lineup out the door. At one point I watched 1 cook make their own lunch and leave for the back room to eat and the cashier was in and out of the back trying to eat as well in between taking orders. That left 1 poor guy manning the entire kitchen with lots of customers waiting. I suppose that they can get away with it because no one in the line left but it makes for a really inefficient and long wait for lunch. The other issue is that there is absolutely nowhere to sit and eat. There is a narrow shelf like counter on one wall of the restaurant that can accommodate maybe 8 or 10 people standing shoulder to shoulder sardine style eating while facing the wall. No seats outside and this particular location really has nowhere close that would be appropriate to sit and enjoy lunch so there were people who were eating while sitting on the curb, or using the stone wall across the street by a set of bike racks to lay their lunch on. Again, it seems to work as nobody left because of it, but it is a really inconvenient way to try to eat a fairy messy burger and a bad look for the neighborhood. Would it kill them to put a few small tables and chairs around? It seemed like all the locals were very happy so maybe this is just my elitist American entitlement showing through as a bias. Finally, the prices here are not cheap. I think everything in Denmark is not cheap but really this is simply a cheeseburger and fries. I added a beer to that and my lunch was about US$29! For that money, the food was simple and the environment was not great since you had to eat in a rush standing up and then clear out. It probably works better late at night if you are drunk and don't care, but for the majority of people trying to grab lunch during a workday, this would not rank high on my list of places to go unless you were really dying for a great cheeseburger. Four stars for the burger and three stars for everything else. That gets them overall 3.5 stars, but since I can't give them half a star, I will round them up. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed what I had here and recommend it for a great smash burger if you are not on a budget.

It's one of those things where I was glad I stopped by, but didn't really experience anything with the food or ambiance that would make me recommend this as a out-of-the way stop that the ranking would seem to suggest. This one is the original, using the station building as a walk-up window with the kitchen inside. They have a few picnic tables on the side for outdoor dining, and I do think that it's important to eat the burger as soon as possible. The interesting thing is that it is still a working gas station, with an island with multiple pumps dispensing petrol (which I didn't see being used during my wait) and some electric charging stations (which was actively being used). I was able to place my order (nothing customized, just wanted exactly as they described after about a 10 minute wait, got my lemonade right away, and waited another 10 minutes to get my food (everything is made-to-order). The cheeseburger was 110 DKK, fries was 40, lemonade was 35, and dipping sauce was 10 with 10 off for being a combo. So total was 185 DKK (about $28.88 in USD). The process and food reminded me very much of a Shake Shack, with the young workers working together to produce well-made smashburgers using great ingredients. The color scheme reminds me of a Wingstop, though. I squeezed between a couple of single diners and dug in. The burger was good, with that loose smash burger quality. It came with a mayo based thousand island like sauce (their gasoline sauce), and had tomato, pickles, red onion slices, and a gooey, plentiful cheese. The lemonade was good, and the hint of elderflower made it memorable. The crinkle fries were good, well done fried which I appreciate. Ate the meal fast before my hands started to freeze up, tossed the remains in the gas station islands garbage bin and was on my way. I really do think a food like this is all about where you eat it...if on an airplane, or at a ballpark, or at the beach...yeah, I could see the appeal. But at a gas station in freezing weather on a picnic table...not so much.
