I tried the Grilloumi burger which is a Halloumi patty and it was good and came fast. As In any European restaurant, ketchup is charged extra! I ate at Max Burger while visiting Copenhagen. I had a halloumi burger on a gluten free bun with sweet potato fries. The gluten-free bun had no up charge, which was very nice. All condiments do have an upcharge however, and it cost 4 Danish kroner for the ketchup. The halloumi burger tasted great, and the sweet potato fries were delicious. Max Hamburger is a Swedish burger chain restaurant that is also in Denmark, Poland and maybe a few other neighboring countries. It was founded in 1968. There isn't much service as ordering is mainly self serve at the kiosk, but someone can manually take your order if needed. Ambiance is pretty much similar to any fast food restaurant. This particular restaurant has a TV screen that shows which numbers (on your receipt) they are servicing and which number is ready for pickup. The person working the counter will also call out your number if it's ready for pickup. This is my second time eating at a Max Hamburger restaurant, the first time I had the Beef Korean BBQ sandwich, this time I tried the Chicken Korean BBQ sandwich. Both tasted really good. What makes it Korean is that they use some sort of gojuchang sauce and I believe coriander/cilantro. If you are in the area and lookin got try some yummy Swedish burgers, give Max Hamburger a try. We saw Max Burgers in a few videos before we left the States and put them on the list to hit when we got to Denmark. Not disappointed at all. So much so that we went and had it again when we were in Stockholm. There are some interesting choices for the vegetarians which was a huge plus. I had a halloumi cheese burger which was super tasty. The fries are thin and crispy. The onion rings are even better. We didn't realize that we ordered the vegan chocolate shake, made with soy or almond milk, but there are deluxe regular shakes as well. The unami sauce was quite tasty on everything. Everyone enjoyed their regular burgers as well. If you ever tire of falafel or pizza being your only late night vegetarian option, look no further than MAX. After a night of drinking at Taphouse, this was an easy choice to make! I love ordering from a touchscreen but I don't love that you cannot edit the orders. If you messed up, throw the meal set away and redo it. I got the Crispy No Chicken with nuggets and... I wanted the vegan shake but I did not see it. Apparently Denmark is still catching up to Sweden in yet another away. All they had was the milk-based Luxusshake, which I was happy to give my husband. Your number is called once the order is ready so you can go fetch it. My burger was excellent! Not as crispy as advertised, with the only other fault being a little too much mayo. The nuggets were a lot better, very crunchy exterior. The place was a little messy due to the fact that you are trusted to clean up after yourself. Especially late at night this is way too much to ask of Danes. For that and the fact that two out of five kiosks were not working, I had to take off a star. I got a new burger on the menu (Bacon BBQ Dream)- 49DKK and a JR bacon- 15DKK with a small coke- 18DKK. The burgers were really good (again in comparison with other fast food chains) with nice and crunchy vegetable in. The place looked also pretty clean (I was there pretty early on a Friday). VEGETARIANS! Come here. It's fast food so whoever is expecting a more extravagant experience is clearly broke and in the wrong place. At least for a vegetarian it is. My husband and I ordered 3 of the 4. .Halloumi Burger .BBQ "Chicken" Burger .Regular "Chicken" Burger Our favorite was the Halloumi Burger. The bread was good and whatever they did to that Halloumi was magical. 2nd favorite was the Regular "Chicken" Burger. It had some sauce on it that reminded me of Big Mac Sauce from McDonald's and it was delicious. The BBQ Burger fell last because they put too many jalapenos on it and some bites were like punishment. Okay I don't know what the hype is all about but I can't complain if its cheap. Snagged some coupons from my school and got 25 dkk rabat for the classic max burger meal. Fries, drink and a burger for 37 dkk? Say it ain't so! I have to say though, the quality is about the same as McDonalds. I really hate false advertising cause the burgers look so juicy and fresh but what I opened up was not a plump juicy patty but a flat one that looked like McDonald's or one of the frozen ones you get at Netto... The fries are okay though, a little better than McDonald's and it's not as greasy. The other thing, I felt a little intimidated since the whole menu was in Danish and I'm still learning. Being a design snob, the whole experience and interior of Max Burger gets a B from me for design. I love the lighting, the seating and furniture. I love the white interior and the graphics by the disposal area. I wish it was more friendly for non - Danish speakers cause it was a little confusing on figuring out where to throw what and the pictograms weren't as strong. Well, you get pretty much what you get with McD's, with the difference that burgers in this place are cooked to order, and thus feel less plasticky than burgers in other fast-food chains. Gotta love that Scandinavian touch. What should you get, you ask? Well, I had the Grande De Luxe triple cheese along with fries with jalapeños, bacon and melted cheese. They were A-OK, just like their price. Should you visit? Well, it depends. I was curious to see what that burger tasted like (looked thick and juicy in those huge billboard ads downtown) and had no time to go to a proper restaurant, and was just passing by, so, it just clicked. Their burgers seem fresher and have better quality. Obviously cannot be compared with "gourmet burgers" that are popping in Copenhagen like mushroom in autumn season, but a little bit more decent burger than those others in their class. Besides, I've been a fan ever since I lived in Norway long time ago. The service here is fast. There are a couple of automatic machines where you could order your menu from (a bit negative point is that you can only order menu (as in burger, drink and sides - and I don't know how to order JUST sides from those machines). Even if you go to the counter, the guys behind the counters give service with a smile. My wife was patient enough to try some of the more out there Danish places with me, so we went for some old-fashioned hamburgers. We got two different burgers that wound up being just about exactly the same, a good thick portion of beef with cheese, bacon, lettuce, onion, jalapenos, and a sauce, which was just a little different between our burgers. The meal is only a little bit more than the sandwich, and comes with thin-cut fries and a drink. They do charge for refills. They also charge for sauce and ketchup packets.
