If you know anything about cooking chicken, you know that dark meat should be cooked 10 degrees higher than white meat. Most fast food places solve this by either only serving white meat, or cooking half way between the two temperatures. The half way method results in the white meat being slightly overcooked and the dark meat being slightly under cooked. Most people are okay with this. At Popeye's, my white meat was perfectly cooked which resulted in the dark meat being unacceptably under cooked. Compared to KFC, the biscuit, chicken flavor, and mac & cheese were all better. My wife ordered the shrimp. They were not bad, but there was no cocktail sauce available. I would not order the shrimp without cocktail sauce, and the server indicated that they had been out for some time. This seems like total incompetence. When we first got there, we tried and failed to use the kiosk to place our order. We were unable to find the shrimp or the ice tea at the kiosk, so we were forced to wait at the counter quite a long time before anyone came over to take our order. I like places that have both sweet and unsweetened ice tea. That way I can mix them to get the level of sweetness I like, but both teas were very weak in flavor. The atmosphere seemed very sterile. Look, I understand that this place is terribly understaffed. But that's no excuse to completely ignore me and help other people with their mobile orders. I waited ten minutes, watched my name just disappear off the in progress list and never sent to being completed. Workers were slammed with the drive through, but no one was coming back and forth to check on the people waiting for their orders in the lobby. A very irate man came in, slammed his sandwich on the counter, yelling profanities about his wrong order, and stormed back out, only to seemingly be going through the drive through to yell at someone. At that point I no longer wanted to wait for someone to just appear for a second and not even look at me to ask me about my order, so I just left and got refunded through the app. As someone who has worked in a balls to the wall insanity environment with a skeleton crew, this is an extremely poor work balance. Whatever is going on in this particular store needs some heavy adjustments to their staff, how they handle busy spells, and for fuck's sake get some better communication with customers. I shouldn't have to yell at someone to get their ass to the counter, to ask where the hell my order is. On top of it all? They don't even put orders on the pick up window. Likely because they don't pay attention to who is actually grabbing the orders and someone makes off with someone else's food. Really, the whole place is a shit show. Very happy to be leaving the first positive review. I've been here twice and have had no problems whatsoever with the food. Stuff that's supposed to be crispy has been crispy. Hot stuff hot, cold stuff cold. The Cajun gravy is always good. It looks nice inside, but the cleanliness is med. Both times, I've had to use napkins to wipe up crumbs and spills from the table. The drink counter was clean the first time I went. The second time, it was littered with straw wrappers, bent lids, ice cubes, spills, receipts. Be prepared to pay with card at the kiosk. If you want to pay cash, you have to use the drive-thru because you can stand at the register from open to close, and no one will take your order. They won't even make eye contact. If you try to flag them down, they tell you about the kiosk behind you. If you put your order in at the kiosk and select "pay cash at register," they don't come. Your order doesn't get made. You wait. If you return to the counter because something in your order is wrong or missing, you might get lucky and catch someone's eye if you bring your entire order with you. On a positive note: If you're a pretty girl applying for a job, several young guys come out from behind the counter to help you, and one will tell you that you don't even need to fill out an application because he's "100 percent" sure your going to be hired. I mean, it was like the food stopped cooking when the girls walked in, fans stopped spinning and ice stopped melting. I went here twice. The first time while a little bit of a wait, and not getting noticed while standing to order at the counter and pay at least 15 minutes, I was beginning to think I was invisible. When my food came and I went out to my car I noticed an item or two missing, I ordered the larger shrimp dish and all I got was shrimp, no chicken. The food tasted ok. The second time I ordered at the kiosk the dark meat chicken. I paid for my order then stood, and had a 20 minute conversation with someone, at the 20 minute mark of waiting someone came out and said we dont have any dark meat chicken and it'll be a 20 minute wait- I just asked for my money back and went to Shaws and got their delicious fried chicken thighs. 2 visits-2 problems. Customer service is clearly not a priority. The missing items from the previous visit make me wonder if some sort of bait and switch deal is going on. I was looking for an alternative to Kentucky Fried chicken and Chick-fil-A ! Unfortunately, I tried Popeyes, which I found to be the greasiest (dripping in so much grease, it rolled down my chin on the first bite of my Classic Chicken sandwich) and less favorable of all these fast food chicken restaurants? I also sampled the chicken wings which were dry and lacked chicken on them! Four of the six wings looked as though someone had taken a bite out of them before they got to me! Went to Urgent Care in Wareham then decided to go to Popeyes since it was late. OMG!! Worst experience ever. Pull up to order & they said they would be with me shortly. 17 mins later they took my order..not bad. I get to window and the rude girl says $21.80 I give her my card & pay. She asked me to pull up to get my order at other window and closes her window. I called her and she rudely replied I told you to pull up. I said I just wanted to ask you to include sweet sauce in my order. She grabbed the sauce and practically threw it in my hand hard. Mind you I'm dealing with a bad shoulder & neck on that side thats why i was at Urgent Care. I did use the f word at that point due to her nastiness. Got my food, French Fries are cold & wilty. Went back around and told them and they were replaced. I ordered 2 thighs & 2 legs with side of mashed potatoes, fries & apple pie. Half to be eaten last nite rest the next day. Left the Wareham Popeyes drove home to Bourne. She gave me 4 breasts that were so hard & dry. I couldn't believe it. I called the store & asked to speak to the manager. A girl came on & I politely asked if she was the manager. She replied yes. I proceeded to explain-very nicely-on what had just happened & before I could even get close to explaining she hung up on me. I called back 2 more times and they wouldn't answer. They close at 8pm and it was now 7:40 and I wouldn't be able to get there before they closed. I tried to contact Corporate but you can only do a chat online to which I did.
