Any Two Meat Combo - Sliced BBQ Brisket, pulled pork, Baked Mac & Cheese, Boston Baked Beans, Cornbread Slice
    Rachel C.

Service - top notch. So friendly, so accommodating, and with your typical cafeteria style bbq joint sometimes you make it thru the line and you're on your own, but not here. They checked we were okay with the temperature in the quaint dining area, checked in drink refills, offered boxes and we were winding down - just so welcoming. 10/10 for the brisket and the cornbread - the bark on the brisket was so delicious I couldn't taint it with bbq sauce (of which they have a huge variety). Cornbread was sweet and crumbly and delicious. 8/10 for the pulled pork - tender and juicy, but not as much smoked flavor as I'm accustomed to. Still a knockout and I'm guessing would be fantastic as the sandwich option. The only thing keeping me from a 5 start review were the sides - we had baked beans and macaroni and cheese, and I think it's just a matter of personal preference here but neither were great. The roux for the Mac and cheese appeared broken and it was mushy and flavorless. Now as a vehicle to accompany some pulled pork and a little bbq sauce - it did the job. But as a stand-alone I would not get again. The beans were very unique - not your 'typical' bbq baked beans but lighter and a little more wet. I would suggest trying these - again I think just a matter of personal preference. We will definitely be back and try some different sides next time!

Any Three Meat Combo Smoked Hot Italian Sausage, pulled pork, pulled chicken

Holy cow! Best BBQ north of the Mason-Dixon Line! Welcoming from the second we walked in, immediately let us know what was available to order. Got a three meat combo with pulled pork, spicy sausage, and pulled chicken. All were delish, and liked them in the order listed. Rack of ribs needs no sauce. Texas style dry rub was on point. Tried the table bbq and spicy bbq sauces and both were excellent. Chicken needed the sauce as it was dry, but everything else was good as is, and good with sauce too. Tried nearly every side for sale. Good slaw is legit and so is the cornbread. Beans were different, and ok. Didn't love them. Liked the cucumber salad. Kids liked the Mac and cheese. Brisket was sold out, and we'll be back for it soon!

Looord have mercy- sinfully good. The Sliced BBQ Brisket, Collards, and Mac and Cheese had so many rich flavors and everything just melts in your mouth. The portions were perfect but I just couldn't get enough. You can tell when food is prepared with love, and this felt like a warm hug I needed. Thank y'all!! I'll be back with family and friends!

Would've gone 3 1/2 stars if available.Came here a while back to try this spot out. The chicken wings were the highlight for me. The ribs were also good. The side lacked flavor to me. Customer service was good and the place was clean.

A BBQ Hidden Gem, BARK BBQ is a family-run spot that nails it on all fronts--delicious food, great value, and friendly service. The brisket is smoky and tender and the sides are just right. The welcoming owners make you feel like family, adding a personal touch to every visit. If you love authentic BBQ at a fair price, this is the place to go!

Great little spot, not too many BBQ joints to compete with. Helps that they are actually good too. Got the 3 Meat Combo: Sliced Brisket, Ribs, Pulled Chicken with Mac and Cheese and Beans. They had jerk too which was cool to see. Brisket: Nice little layer of fat on top, great bark look to it (should be from a place called "Bark") Meat color was a little more browner than I'm used to but still on the traditional side. Meat is a bit tougher than I like but not too different from a lot of other BBQ joints that do this drier style of Brisket. Amazing Rub! Some of the better rubs I've ever had. Fat melts incredibly wet like instant melted butter, fat had its own smokey flavor to it as well. Flavor of the beef was Above average. My only complaint was the toughness but that is just me. Ribs: Great smoke ring look, they leave the membrane film on, amazing tenderness to the meat, amazing flavor, ribs were a bit more short than I like. Came pre cut too, thank you. Meat was sorta coming off the bone a little too easily and I don't really like that. Smoke flavor is amazing although it might overpower the flavor of the pork a tiny bit, not that it mattered too much in this case. I think my particular cut of ribs didn't cook evenly enough, possibly part of the reason why they were so short, end piece cut. Some parts were tougher, some parts were soft, all that, I'm the only one who would complain though, still amazing flavor. Pulled Chicken: Definitely had some sort of mop sauce in it but couldn't tell if it was the same sauce as the one you could get yourself. But the taste of the smoked chicken was excellent. Might not be the best I've ever had but it's up there. Whatever sauce was in it was perfect too, didn't overpower anything and left plenty of room for my tastebuds to appreciate the chicken flavor. Baked Beans: Had a golden brown hue to it (that's not meant to sound like a good or bad thing). Looked like only one type of bean. Didn't look like anything special, just a nice traditional baked bean recipe. The taste hit me with some great old school vibes though. Gravy sticks to the beans and doesn't run down through the fork. Bits and pieces of bacon or pork or brisket bark or something. Good texture, a bit hot though (and I know that sounds like a "duh" statement) meaning the beans kinda explode out of their skin a little too easily. Just a really nice smokey bean flavor, not a real good presence of Brown Sugar or Apple or Maple, just that nice smoked bean flavor from the good old days. Mac and Cheese: Shell pasta with a very very "frothy" looking cheese, if I was going to pick a quick word to describe it. Could see some sort of seasoning that I assumed was black pepper. Cheese wasn't goopy (goopy is bad) or stringy (stringy is good) but it was just like a nice cheese sauce. Realized that it did have some stringy-ness to it as I got deeper. There is definitely a hint of a spice in there, it wasn't black pepper by my taste buds at the time anyway. Great texture, good buttery cheesy flavor, might have been baked a little but didn't look like it. All in all this is actually pretty great mac and cheese. Cornbread: Looked pretty typical. Sorta had a top layer like it was all flaking off. Taste was typical, mild sweetness, cakey texture, little corn meal grains in there so its not completely cake like, good but nothing great. 5 Sauces. Sweet Table BBQ, Alabama White, Spicy BBQ, Asian Spiked, and Carolina Mop. Asian Spiked was hard to describe cause I dont think I've tasted it before, nothing really reminded me of any typical asian flavor like teriyaki or schezuan or soy. If anything it was more like a fruitier BBQ sauce but I couldn't tell ya what fruit. Alabama white was more mayo-like, not as many spices as I like to see, but actually tasted pretty good. Carolina MOP had a crazy amount of spices as it should, nice sweet vinegar with not a super hard bite to it with a little tiny bit of heat to it, very nice. Sweet Table BBQ was the type of sauce that just made me point at it like a proud papa. Excellent blend of spices and vinegar and sweetness. I put a lot of thought into my rating. On one hand this place has some really really good BBQ. But it kind of comes down to if it is really really good authentic made with love BBQ. To me there was something about it that just tasted like it's a "follow the recipe and repeat" type of place. I could be super wrong but I feel like that's what I tasted. Thought about it a little more and I'd say it's a solid 4.9 so I give them a 5 star.

Bartender handled the whole joint on a Saturday lunch. -- Patty Melt: Nice straddling between traditional and innovative. Seriously disappointed in the Mea tonight. Excited to spin the wheel of chance and try something…read moreout of the ordinary since everything else we've ever had had been great. However, this was not the case. We decided to try their fun bargain bag that is advertised as something new and exciting everyday with guaranteed $15 worth of food in every bag. Not knowing the items would all be identical we ordered 6. No bag. Just a pint container 3/4 filled with plain white rice and some BLAND chicken. The advertisement is misleading at best and a full on scam at worst. They know what they are doing. Called inquire if we missed a bag or 2 only to be passed off to a 'manager' who explained they just make one item everyday to throw in the 'mystery bag'. If the advertising had been more straight forward we would have ordered 1 or 2 mystery items to try for fun and then ordered from their regular menu. But you can't do that. If you order the mystery bag (which you can only order through their online system) you are not allowed to add any regular menu items. Seems a little short sighted to me. The 'manager' was ZERO help and offered us no explanation other than and oh well maybe I can change the wording. We didn't ask for a refund or anything like that. And I don't want one now. I just want everyone else to know what a scam this is so their dinner is ruined like ours was. We went there pretty regularly since they opened (before they even had their liquor license!) and they just lost a customer. Shame on them.

I don't know if I was starving, unhappy or what but this place and meal hit the spot and hit it hard. I thought I deserved a drink so I got a Guinness, which was thankfully on tap so yah! I got the bourbon steak tips with steak fries and opted for a garden salad instead of the green beans - yes, yes, and yes! Steak tips were perfectly flavorful and cooked just right for my taste. I really wanted fries and (unlike some of my family/friends) I actually like steak fries and they were cooked up just the way I like'em (crisp outside, not too mushy on the inside). The salad though, yah it was basic and yet not - all kinds of different colored tomatoes which actually had great flavor to them, and it was not just a couple but quite a few and they were "fresh". That is basically what I loved about the salad - not your typical anemic looking/tasting salad but with mixed greens (not just lame looking iceberg) and full of other veggies. The server also could not have been nicer (like I said I went through a lot that day so seeing a friendly face was nice) and always checking on us. I think we made a great choice in stopping here - it was a 4:30 on a Tuesday and it was busy. Good sign!
