I love eating at Popeyes. The problem is the restaurants have gone downhill so far it's not worth the trip. I went late night and ordered an eight piece and some butterfly shrimp. Instead of 2B, 2W, 2T, and 2D I got 1B, 2D, 1W, and 4T. It was late at night and the chicken was way overcooked. I'm not sure what the deal was, but I don't think they have butterfly shrimp in stock so I got popcorn shrimp. I don't know what the difference in price was, but I got ripped off. Some things to note about this location: - the inside is closed 24/7. So even if you order online to pick up at the counter you will be forced to sit in the drive through to get your food. - the drive thru speaker/microphone is broken so you can't even order until you get to the window. This makes it take FOREVER to get your food. - they are constantly short staffed. - the light in the parking lot doesn't work so at night it looks abandoned (as it probably should be). I went there twice in the past week. I ordered on line both times. I waited 30 minutes the first time and they shorted me a couple items of food. I waited 45 minutes the second time and when I asked them to include the two items that they shorted me from the time before (showing them my receipt) they got angry and refused to make it right. They said they wouldn't give me "extra" food. You're not giving me extra food. Your giving me food that literally already paid for. Plus i had to wait for 45 minutes for the food I was ordering that day. That alone should have led to them comping me a couple of items. But no. I was told that if I was dissatisfied I should just cancel my order. This is after already paid online mind you and couldn't get a refund AND waiting for 45 minutes. There's no polite way to say this. The lady that manages this location is an angry black woman. She probably beats her kids when she goes home. All of the employees are obviously terrified of her. I was over in Duluth for a little work and was trying to find a spot with grilled chicken that I could eat on the road and then I remembered Popeyes and those famed blackened tenders...so to Yelp and Waze I went! This location sits on Pleasant Hill Road in front a shopping center and along side several other fast food places. I opted for the drive thru as it was fairly empty. When I pulled up to the speaker, I was greeted immediately. I simply ordered the blackened tenders and nothing else. She let me know that there would be a wait as they would be making them fresh, and I had no worries with that. I pulled around to the window, paid and was told to pull forward. The Associate was helpful and friendly at the speaker and window. I pulled around to the front of the building as they had two other cars waiting. I ended up waiting about 10 minutes, which was 5 more than was quoted, but was not a big deal. The Manager came out to bring me my food. He apologized for the wait, chatted me up about my vehicle and let me know they tossed in two tenders for the wait. That box was FULL of blackened tenders and they were hot and fresh! Overall, I normally do not expect much from a Popeyes on the level of service, but I was pleasantly surprised at this location. I was not really impressed with this Popeye's last night - better than the Norcross-Tucker location, but it could still improve. The workers were nicer here than at the other one I mentioned, but I still felt kind of rushed upon ordering. It was around 10-11pm, and they supposedly close around 2am, but a lot of items were out or done being made for the day. We couldn't get a chicken sandwich or spicy anything at that time. My fiancé decided to get a chicken box. Unfortunately, I misunderstood him and got the tenders when he wanted the regular bone-in chicken, but he went with it. They didn't ask if we wanted any sauce or our receipt and didn't include either in the bag, so make sure you speak up if you want either. When we got home to try the food, everything just kind of fell flat. The chicken was okay, though not the best Popeye's we've had. The red beans and rice was completely dried out. The mashed potatoes were surprisingly good. I thought we hated Popeye's potatoes originally, but it turns out the Norcross-Tucker location might've just given us an old batch. Finally, the biscuits which are usually my favorite thing were ridiculously hard. I'll try to see if I can upload my video clip of me knocking on it like wood. I am taking to Yelp, as I have did before, to comment and share observations after a dining or provided service. Patronized the Popeyes at 1635 Pleasant Hill Road Duluth, GA four times over the last six months. Today was visit number four. On 11/21/22: (Visit number three) I placed a $67.50 order. After arriving home (20 + miles distance) I discovered my 12 piece classic tenders were missing. I immediately called the number (many times) atop my receipt only to receive no answer. Today, the manager stated she always answers her phone. Again, I received no answer. I searched the web for alternate numbers associated with the store number and address of this Popeyes location. No answer. Completed the online survey - no reply. Returned to the store location today (12/3/22) with my notes on the now fading receipt to explain the situation and to secure my original 12 piece order I had paid for on 11/21/22. The store manager reluctantly filled my original order, but not without insulting my integrity over a twelve dollar order. Her attitude and verbalization were indicative of a less than professional manager who acts as though she and her team are doing the customer a favor by providing the service already paid in cash or card. In reflection, my satisfaction with Popeyes across multiple states, i.e., Virginia, South Carolina and Georgia, has become unbearable. Tonight, Saturday, 12/03/22, my family and I have decided to remove Popeyes from our options to dine. It appears these large chain fast food franchise organizations care very little about customer experience as long as we keep patronizing. Appears Popeyes Corporate has allowed itself to become disconnected from their customer's experience and disconnected from the development of their teams. From managers to front line workers. The inmature attitude of this store manager is indicative of major dysfunctional systems across Popeyes Corporate. I opine, the poor customer service and lackluster leadership displayed are systemic training failures and signs of disengaged leadership within Popeyes Corporate. Appears the pandemic impacted or halted on-site inspections and observations and interactions with Popeyes and their customer base. The store manager on duty at 528pm, Saturday, 3 December 2022 at Popeyes Store located at 1635 Pleasant Hill Road Duluth Georgia became the location that has caused my observations to be verbalized via this Yelp review. This location needs a completely new staff! Every time I visit this location, I regret it. I was here yesterday and witnessed manager/shift leader Ramon and Cameron arguing with a customer. Apparently, Popeyes messed up an order and the customer returned. I over heard one of the employees getting loud with the guy and telling him he wasn't going to get any chicken tonight. I thought they were about to fight. It was extremely unprofessional and distasteful. A very bad look for Popeyes. Every time I come here I experience similar behavior.
