The beef was cooked to perfection & with the truffle topping & the house made mayonnaise it was fantastic. Came with a side Caesar but something tells me that I should have ordered the kettle chips. The server Ashley was warm, polite & efficient. It would have been a 5-star but there was excessively loud construction going on that interrupted the meal. So I first off wanna start by saying I frequent clarks on a weekly basis. Some weeks multiple…read moretimes a week. I am very much a regular and do luv most of the staff. I hadn't been on a wine night for several weeks. But I went last Thursday to have some half price bottle of wine. They pour me a glass and proceed to keep the bottle behind the bar ( which I don't understand) that's not even normal in any regard. After having a little bit of my first glass I ask there sever Ryan for a glass of ice where he walk up to the ledge and loudly puts it down and says here. Where I had to stand up and retrieve the Glass of ice on my own. So the reason I asked for the ice was because the wine was not tasting good at all it was vinegary and sour and definitely off. It was a red chapeshmall back which I always drink and I drink that choice of wine they're often as well. I proceed to drink it a little bit longer and then I've just kind of had enough and I have to say to the staff that the wine is off ... so i ask Ryan to have somone else try it he says Abigail who has been working there a very short time with little experience in the restaurant business. So I proceed to say the bottle is bad the bartender Abigail says" what do you want me to do about it Tina"? I said open a new bottle... I then ask where the wine is stored if it's too high then maybe there's too much heat causing it to go rancid quicker. I then just get sassed by the staff and then told I'm no longer allowed to have anything to drink. Which was ridiculous as I was not intoxicated I was angry And annoyed however. I reached out to the management team the next day as I know everyone there, I spoke with the general manager as well as a supervisor and I still have had no one reach out to me regarding this incident. I just want to add that I'm feel very let down by one of my favorite places that I frequent a lot, and spend a lot a lot of money. Way to drop the ball 2 times Clark's crossing!

Despite only eating at this establishment twice, I very much enjoy this restaurant. As a picky…read moreeater, I always keep it simple with chicken and fries. Let me say, the chicken they serve is top notch, crispy, good portions and perfectly delectable. May I also say the fries are delicous, you can tell they are made in house and are very crispy and I appreciate the size of each individual fry. You get 5 chicken fingers with a full plate of fries underneath and the last time I went I was so hungry I ate it all. Ughghgg literally craving it as I speak. Also it's a very affordable place if your also looking for a nice relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend

So the visit to State and Main last week was very hit and miss…read more Starting with the hits. We ordered the Friday night cocktails ($2 off) and here we have the New York Sour and Mexican Bulldog The New York Sour was absolutely AMAZING It's made with whiskey , egg white , sour mix and red wine . Seems like an odd combo but honestly it had the perfect tart and wine taste. I was with three other guys and they all loved this drink and would recommend it to everyone! That's how good it is For the Mexican Bulldog, I personally only thought it was only OK but Mr C liked it. It's definitely picture worthy tho! The glass was biiiig with a mini corona in it! Now for the miss. The French Dip. I loooveeee beef dip at most places so I was hoping I'd love it here too but unfortunately...no. This is made with shaved Angus beef, mushrooms, onions (which I opted out), horseradish mayo & Swiss cheese with au jus. As I was eating it, I actually forgot there's mushroom in it cause I couldn't taste it at all (not sure if this is a good or bad thing?) and the au jus was just way too watered down and seemed more like a broth than the usual au jus (a thicker liquid). I did finish it all but I wasn't very satisfied with it. The side poutine, on the other hand, was actually very delish! Lotsa flavour and every without the cheese and gravy, the fries itself was enough to make the entire meal better. it did spark a discussion with our group tho - should restaurants bring ketchup with fries or should customers have to ask each time? Lemme know in the comments below! Another miss would be our server. It was Friday night so it was busier but we still expected them to put in a bit more friendly customer service. Our friend ordered his drink and wanted to order food as well but before he could, the server walked away right after the drink order. Throughout the night, we had to constantly wait for a long time to be able to make another drink order. This was probably the most disappointing part of our dinner experience. We'll still return but hopefully it'll be a better service experience.
