Place was clean and spacious! Even thought we didn't have scheduled an appointment, they were able to fit us in within 15 min or so. Maybe because it as a Monday afternoon? The men's haircut was good, yet the dresser was done within 15 min. The price was a bit high for the men's haircut, $35 plus tip. Inside H-Mart there's a more modern salon with prices being about 20% less. We might have to try that one next time. read more

I was desperate for a haircut in Arizona but didn't know where to go. It's hard to find another hair stylist and I'm not really one to experiment. I looked up Asian salons and decided to give this one a chance. They were Korean owned and Koreans are known for their style so surely nothing can go wrong. Another great perk about Asian salons are the head massage you get when they wash your hair. I arrived and it was empty. The owners were so sweet and talkative. Covid hit their customer service hard but they are still trucking! I went with my safe choice haircut - inverted slant bob and the outcome was nice. The only downside was the way she got to it. There's two ways to trim hair. One way creates a lot of split ends - using the scissor and sliding down your hair ends creating friction to cut vs grabbing a bit at a time and snipping your way. Unfortunately, she did the sliding method. I could feel my hair screaming at me. Each strand of hair was yanked. Sigh. Besides the process of my hair cut, the overall look at the end was nice and again the owners were very social and nice. read more

Been going here for 2-3 years now and for the past year. I wanted my back of my head hair to be grown out but every time I tell the barber to leave my back hair alone. He still cuts it and I lose all my hair progress for it. I believe this is the last time I get my haircut here. read more

After visiting several other asian-owned salons in the area, at Pop Hair, I have always had prompt service and a haircut that is the result from a skilled, talented team of Chris and Grace. Tip: to beat the crowds, go during the middle of the day M-Th as there is no need to make an appointment and I can be in and out within 30 minutes. I usually get a couple inches off with layers. The most recent time I visited, Grace kept encouraging me to consider a perm. I'll keep it in mind. I am always willing to support local, Korean owned businesses and will be back in a few weeks. read more

I took my 13 year old to get his hair cut. His hair went down about 3 or 4 inches below his shoulders, so he really needed to shorten it. He likes his hair long so it was like pulling teeth to even get him to go to a salon. Now, having typical Asian hair, Pop Hair was the only place that had an opening on the day my son could get a hair cut (I now see why they were the only one with availability). When we got there, he said he only wanted to chop off 1 to 2 inches of his hair. That's like a trim. His bangs were also down to his chin so he wanted to cut his bangs down to his nose (which still makes him look like a sheep dog so that's also like a trim). We get there, and it clearly says $40 for Women's haircut and $30 for men's haircut. My kid is 13 so he doesn't qualify for the kid's haircut. I thought, $30 is pricey but that's ok. It's an Asian hair salon so at least they'll know how to deal with kid's hair. 20 minutes later, my kid got his hair pretty much trimmed but the back was still touching the shoulder and was starting to flip outwards. My kid said he didn't want to go shorter, but the hair cut was decent and presentable enough so, exasperated, I stood in front of the cash register. This is where I lost it (internally - I don't show my emotions outwardly). The owner said "$40". I stood there, flabbergasted. "But he's a boy..." I said. "Yes, but his hair not like that," said the owner, pointing at a male customer with short hair. Then indicating to my son, he added, "His hair is almost like woman, so $40. Sex does not matter." I was in utter SHOCK. So shocked, I couldn't speak or retaliate. So basically, if a MAN who has long hair still ends up having somewhat long-ish hair, he has to pay the WOMAN's haircut price?!?! What kind of pricing system is that?!?! This is practically a scam! If you insist on coming here, have the price in writing - don't rely on what it says on the "menu". Place absolutely needs to have an appointment system. The lady cuts hair decently, but the wait is horrendous. Called in to get a haircut for 3pm. Spoke to the husband and he said it was "good, come in." Well it's currently 3:28 and I am still waiting... guess they took some walk-ins while I was driving over? I'm usually very picky with haircuts and always fearful of letting new people cut my hair (think Asian, thin/fine, but lots of hair) because any minor error in cutting will be extremely noticeable; however, I am very happy after getting my cut here! I believe it was Chris who cut my hair; he was very meticulous and patient and worked diligently at making sure to get as much of my damaged hair out (there was a lot--yikes) as possible while keeping my length in mind. He also showed great knowledge and consideration to the integrity of my hair (integrity was poor bc i had an awful experience dying it elsewhere), informing me of what I can do to help repair it and helping me understand that there are options to fix my hair that didn't involve chopping it all off. So thankful for finding this place during covid, they practice all the precautions and take a good amount of time to make you look nice. It does cost more than a Supercuts trim BUT you get what you pay for...Grace has a keen eye for detail and she never rushes the job. I always feel so squeaky clean after she washes my hair and love that she uses a flat iron to style my hair after a trim. I finally found a salon that can actual do Asian hair! I have tried practically every Korean and Vietnamese hair salons in the valley and none were able to properly cut or do current style. Only way to get a decent hair style was to go all the way to Cali which I can't get a chance to do very often. Both Grace & Chris were super nice and understood the exact style I wanted.
