This shop has evolved from being just a picture framing shop. I bopped in in recently and they currently carry a huge selection of posters. No... not the kind with teen idols or the hang in there kitten. These posters are on the lines of looking like vintage art posters in the genre of classic rock, maps, and retro travel. They also have curated gifts with a strong local influence. The vibe was quite relaxed with vintage rock playing on the store's speaker, clean organized setup, and welcoming staff. I could easily drain my wallet shopping here. I am a huge fan of vintage looking maps and travel posters. I also was quite enamored with The Who's 2000 album cover art signed by John Entwistle's himself. John is The Who bassist and artist that drew the album cover. They're ability to perfectly integrate a frame with any piece I bring to them is uncanny. Drawn in by the "Grateful Dead" teaser in the window and was floored by the selection. Sure, there's other concert band posters of various sizes for framing but loved the collection of Dead items. Stickers, pins, pull overs, t-shirts, signs, books, lights, a little bit of everything. Glad my wife is patient with me as I could have shopped for 2 hours - and she's the shopper in the family! The lovely lady working on Saturday 6/22 was super friendly, out going and really made our visit enjoyable. Definitely worth a return visit when I get back to Placerville! read more

I brought in a watercolor painting that had gotten some water damage to it's matting, and needed new glass. The staff were very friendly, explained the "plan of care" for my painting, and even did the work extra quickly since the artist, a personal friend, was coming to visit me all the way from Connecticut, and I didn't want her to see it in it's damaged state. The shop did a beautiful job; I was so pleased when I went in to pick up my painting. My husband is bringing them a print that is special to him, that also has wear and tear, because he was so happy to see how nice my painting had turned out. Highly recommend. read more

Love, love, love this gallery and frameworks shop. This uber-cool gallery features pop art rock posters and memorabilia from the 60s and 70s and beyond. They do a fantastic job of framing, too! They framed my GRAMMY® Award certificate and are creating a cool shadowbox of all my souvenirs from my trip to the GRAMMY® Awards (including the tickets, photos, etc.). I was in need of a present for my son's upcoming birthday, and was looking for a fun puzzle we could do as a family during our self-isolation. Angie had the perfect puzzle featuring National Parks' retro postcards...many of which our family has collected on our summer vacations. Pop Art offered the puzzle at a good price, and their customer service was excellent. I ordered and paid over the phone, and made arrangements to pick the puzzle up curbside. Angie was waiting my arrival and delivered my puzzle at the door. Couldn't have asked for a smoother, better transaction! Pop Art is a fun and informative store! I am a local artist and have never seen so many different styles of matting that can be created for any piece of artwork. Very very good an nice people. Don't let the price throw you off. I literally had a 1948 wiener dog advertisement which cost me 9.99. I decided to pay the price for framing as it was a gift. Without a doubt they took my 9.99 item an made it look like a million bucks. Well okay, not a million. However, the cost justified EVERYTHING. Never had a better wiener (DOG) picture ever.
