Amongst, the "A grade" variety of art to be discovered, the futuristic alien themes featured by one of the owners are "out of this world" spectacular! The works range from jewelry, glass, wood work, ceramics, photography, sculpture, and paintings. Surprisingly the original art work was not outlandishly priced. Plus they have small originals, prints in smaller frame sizes to postcard size that are more affordable priced. My favorite works were Jack Nissen's wood bowls and painters Carol Quinn, Barbie Smith, and Valerie Bye. To me, their art echoes the beauty of our local landscape. I easily connected with that. I bopped in when Michael and Natalie were staffing the shop. Micheal had a bright, enthusiastic attitude. He warmly greeted everyone that walked. He had a great rapport with customers. No snobby pretentiousness. Besides the art another work in the building. The building itself is a beaut. It too has a rich history going back to 1850. At that time, Thomas Kinkade's art was super popular so much so he franchised out art galleries. Critics said his art was kitsch. My friend called it art. I was on the fence back then. But I have since broaden my horizons to appreciate his artwork. He is known as the famed "Painter of Light". The late Thomas Kinkade was born in Placerville, CA, in 1958 and graduated from the local high school. He passed away in 2012. The art gallery is on Main Street in Placerville. I popped on in a few weeks back. It was filled with a few oil originals and a lot of Thomas Kinkade studio artists works and prints. The studio art continues Kinkade's painting technique and style. Besides the typical Kinkade genres of cottages, bridges, Main Streets, mountains, forests; they carry artwork incorporating Disney images (Disney princesses, Star Wars). My favorite pieces were the classic Kinkade's of Main Street Placerville and California natures scenes such as the images of Yosemite. The person working was welcoming and even though he was busy, he made it a point to sincerely greet everyone.

This is a good place to find a unique art piece for yourself or a significant other to commemorate a special occasion. Located on the main street in Placerville. It's easy to find. This, and several other newer businesses have really revitalized Placerville's core business district from where it was, say, 25 years ago when a stop to shop wasn't really an option in hangtown. Now, Placerville is a rather fun place to spend an afternoon shopping and dining. There are also at least three breweries to sample locally-made ales at.

No... not the kind with teen idols or the hang in there kitten. These posters are on the lines of looking like vintage art posters in the genre of classic rock, maps, and retro travel. They also have curated gifts with a strong local influence. The vibe was quite relaxed with vintage rock playing on the store's speaker, clean organized setup, and welcoming staff. I could easily drain my wallet shopping here. I am a huge fan of vintage looking maps and travel posters. I also was quite enamored with The Who's 2000 album cover art signed by John Entwistle's himself. John is The Who bassist and artist that drew the album cover. The framed piece is for purchase and can be yours. Plus they still are a framing shop. So if you have a need to frame something, this is your place for that professional custom service.
