They were the only dog walkers we could find that were willing to work with our schedule. Our dog is a blind Puggle with a big personality. She absolutely loved every time she got to have her play dates with Jason. You can tell he truly loves what he does and cares about each dog. We even had them board her while we went on vacation a couple times. Honestly I'm not sure I would trust anybody more than Paws About Town with my dog.

I should known not to meet up w her hubby when he came to pick up my pup. The fan smelled nasty, my dog was shivering and the guy looked he dirty and not probably showered in days - red flag. If this is what they do they should be reported about "house sitting" - ie leaving the pets outside ontheir property instead of inside their home.

Everyone is caring, attentive, and genuinely treats the animals as if they were their own. A special thank you to Talia, who consistently goes above and beyond. It's incredibly reassuring knowing your pet is not just being watched, but actually cared for and loved while you're away. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a place where their pets will be treated like family

I'm Fred and everyone knows me, and I have a brother named Yoda. (He's not as popular as me). We get greeted in the morning with treats and smile. If I pop my head over the desk sometimes I get extra treats! We're always eagerly waiting until an attendant gets us from the big place where everyone just stands around (humans are so funny). And then we play all day and have so much fun! Everyone is so nice and gives me lots of pets and belly rubs! My brother tends to get more pets because he snuggles next to humans more. But I prefer romping around with my friends. When our humans pick us up, we both come bounding out the door on our leashes, but sometimes I turn around and see if I can score another treat. My humans have the unlimited package, which we thought meant unlimited treats. But I guess not! We do go sometimes on the weekends so maybe that is what unlimited means. We have sleepovers there as well. The rooms are perfect and we both stay together. One time we got a balcony! And another time we got a TV in our room! Fellow dogs - use your puppy eyes to tell your humans to bring you here!

Will not be returning as myself and my dog had terrible customer service. My dog Oakley has been in…read moredoggy daycare since she was a puppy and has always loved it. Prior to going to red dog, she has gone to 2 different doggy day cares (due to relocating). People used to ask me how I knew she liked going and I told them "it's because she's always so excited to go inside and usually drags me in the door. At her past daycares, the workers were some of her favorite people. When I moved to Boston, the was NOT the case at the red dog resort. In fact it was the opposite, as she was dragging me away from the place and was visibly shaking when I would drop her off after her first couple of stays. I told the front desk person I was concerned but gave them the benefit of the doubt and simply asked they give me a call to check in later that afternoon to give me some peace of mind. Nobody called me. This happened TWICE on two separate occasions back to back. When I picked her up the second time I told them how frustrated I was and they told me that the daycare is very big and busy and they can't keep up with call requests despite being told before that it wasn't a problem the day prior. They also told me that the manager Bobby would give me a call to rectify this and after over WEEK he never called me. I have still not heard from anyone about this except for a text message from them that ended with them continuing to string me along waiting for a call. Their customer service and management seems to be run poorly and appears to be impacting the quality of their care (as evidence of my dogs physical reaction to going into their care). I am very frustrated for my dog and for myself for giving them so many chances.

We've been using On Call Pets for over 2 years and they have NEVER let us down! We primarily work…read morewith Shelby and Cat but have also worked with the owner, Kelly. I knew our pups were in excellent hands, but that was confirmed when (due to surgery) I was home when Shelby or Cat came over a few times and our dogs were very excited to see them and were jumping with joy and giving kisses. Shelby has also dog-sat for us overnight and was wonderful about sending us pictures and updates, often sharing a picture of Marvin snuggling with her. I think what really sets On Call Pets apart is the excellent communication, their passion for the animals they work with, and also the very reasonable prices. I had used other services in the past before moving to Brookline that I thought were fine, but On Call Pets blows them all out of the water.

On Call Pet Services is run by Kelly Lapre, who works with a team of other people. We've only…read moreinteracted with Kelly, and have found her to be very responsive (as in, nearly always responds within in 15 minutes of an email) and 100% available (she has never once said no to a gig). For cat sitting (2 cats, uncomplicated needs), her rate has been $16, which I find very reasonable. That said, we have been working with Kelly for about a year and a half, and recently decided to switch to another cat sitter. This was not because of anything overwhelmingly egregious on Kelly's part, but rather that we've had better services from other sitters in the past and would like to return to that. For instance, other sitters have always texted us pictures and updates about our cats. With Kelly, I found that she'll give me a brief update if I email to check in, but that's it. I would've preferred if she texted pics daily with every visit as a standard. (Note: When I emailed Kelly to share some concerns/feedback and ask for our keys to be returned, she stated that she is happy to do this for her clients upon request.) Another example is that over a longer gig (4 days) this summer, we returned home to an empty water bowl and two very thirsty cats. When I asked about it over email, Kelly wrote, "I gave them water every time I saw them just like I always do. I have been watching cats daily in the heat for ten years and two cats will empty a bowl of water in one day when it's hot. The water bowl is not big and now that I think of it it was empty each time I came so maybe when your [sic] home you fill it more often or there is another issue." I concur with Kelly that it's possible that a combination of heat, cats, time, etc may have led to the water bowl winding up empty by the time we got home (a day after her last visit), but what concerns me is that she noticed the bowl being continuously empty, and did not reach out to us. I would've been 100% okay with her putting down another water bowl (even without asking us). Also, increased drinking in cats can be a sign of something pretty serious, and I would like to have a pet sitter that has the awareness and expertise to alert me to something like this. Again, not canceling our service because of major issues, but rather some minor ones that overall just put us off. ETA: Kelly said that she mailed my key back to me. It was never received.

Thank you, Kelcie!…read more I recently had an excellent customer service experience here. A couple of days ago, I was driving out to Newton (from South Boston) on very short notice, because there was a miscommunication with the person I was going to be picking up my new kitten from, and I had to pick her up earlier than expected. The problem was, I didn't have any supplies yet (cat carrier, litter box, etc). So I quickly purchased a few items online (with in-store pickup) from the PetSmart in Newton, hoping to swing in at grab these supplies before picking up my new pet. However, the automated confirmation email from PetSmart said "if you place an order within 2 hours of closing time, your order will be ready the next day". I had placed my order at 5 pm, when PetSmart was scheduled to close at 6pm, so I was screwed. I was already on my way to Newton, and had no idea what to do if I didn't at least have a new carrier to bring the kitten home in. I called up PetSmart, explained my situation, and asked if there was anyway they could get my order ready for pickup today (and I was already 10 minutes away from the store at this point). Not only did Kelcie immediately go gather the items that I purchased, and had them ready at the front counter, but she also brought up an alternative cat-carrier that she strongly suggested I exchange for (for the same price) instead of the one that I selected online, which was too small, and my cat would grow out of it in a matter of months. She processed the exchange, and had me in and out of the store in a matter of a few minutes, and totally saved my day.

The staff there are very nice and one time they didn't carry one of the items I wanted so they called me about a replacement item for the order and they were able to apply the same discount when I arrived to pick it up. The only annoying thing I've noticed is that they don't carry certain things that I would have to look elsewhere or maybe online. For example, the pill pouches/pockets I usually like getting the Milk Bone brand since it's the best value but they don't carry them in stock.
