Our day began with a warm welcome at LE PAIN QUOTIDIEN, a cozy coffee shop located inside the train station. Here, we received our train tickets and went through the Eurostar system to scan our passports and belongings. Once inside the train, we met our tour guide, Anna, who was incredibly welcoming and provided clear instructions about our meeting point outside the train in Paris at the Gare du Nord. Upon arriving in Paris, we boarded a spacious, air-conditioned tour bus that took us to various locations. Our itinerary included a panoramic sightseeing tour of Paris, a relaxing 1-hour canal cruise by Bateaux Parisiens along the Seine River, a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower, and a delightful 3-course lunch with wine at the Eiffel Tower restaurant (if an upgrade option was chosen). It's a glamorous outlet - deceptively spacious - unlike any travel agents that I've ever come across previously. Even more extraordinary, given the current economic climate. On entering, you'll see a huge world map, on one side of the wall, stickered with comments from happy travellers. To the other side, there's a comfy and inviting sofa with a plasma screen behind it. Take a seat and you'll be offered a drink, as you contemplate and ponder your next trip. There are only around six staff - with booking screens - in spite of the impressive size of the premises. It's set-up to enthuse and inspire the traveller, with space to dream and inform yourself. On my recent visit I had a lengthy chat and explored some ideas, confirming that one of my dream destinations will realise itself on my agendaone day. I wasn't made to feel pressurised, or ill-at-ease, although I didn't make a booking there and then. Instead, I was encouraged to return and experience one of their special evening events (I haven't had the chance to yet). During 'normal' office hours, it's a 'pure' travel agents (albeit luxurious and super client-friendly) but venture here in the evening and you might find it transformed into an exotic destination, featuring themed dancing and festivities. It quite turns the trend for isolated exploration, from the 'comfort' of your lonely keyboard, on its head and re-inspires enthusiasm for the expertise and input of a real travel specialist. I'll definitely consider returning when I'm ready to book, or if I'm close to the area and fancy a quick 'escape', or some enticing inspiration.

In a panic, I popped into the nearest Flight Centre (this one) to see if they could help me out. I remember being so impressed with the service I received that I promised myself I was going to write to Flight Centre UK and convey my gratitude and praise for the staff at this branch. I didn't because I was too lazy... but now with Yelp! I can at last take some step to thanking them and recommending them to others.

The agent was courteous and was responsive before and after booking. Whilst I am uncertain of the need for an intermediary between the customer and airline for an experienced traveller they did in the end follow up and remained responsive after the booking. I admittedly have a bit more confidence in the concept of a travel agent after my interaction and Travel Unravel did seem to work more on the basis of trust, rather than merely processing a booking then disappearing as I had originally feared. I am unsure whether in the end they could beat a price on a direct booking, but they certainly suggest they can. Perhaps such an agent would also be a value add proposition on more complex bookings, but I have no experience with this.

Like another reviewer mentioned, their phone number came up as connected to the cruise line. The name "Travel Unravel" will NOT be used when they try to get you to pay for services, so keep that in mind. In my case, I was misled into believing I was speaking to a customer service rep from the cruise line, who pushed prepayment "at a discount," charged my card, then provided no receipt, no way of contacting them (aside of going back through my phone, and no way of reversing the charge/getting a refund. I filed a dispute with my credit card company, but that'll take a couple of weeks to resolve. I went through my phone, found their number, called and asked for a refund, but was denied. I thought maybe they'd actually paid the gratuities, so I called the cruise line. Nope! Not paid, so I called them back. Now I'm getting the, "Your customer service rep is currently busy but will get back to you in a couple of hours to resolve this." We'll see. Meanwhile, the BBB website is open to a "file complaint" page, and I'm filling it out as I write this. It is later, many hours later, and I never did get a call back. If you're looking to prevent your travel from unraveling, steer clear of these guys! I'll keep y'all posted.

Flight prices are actually quite competitive and the staff are blessed with the patience of saints. Flight Centre is just the place for technophobes to book a sojourn away during the current doom and gloom.

The first issue I had started when i went to momondo.com and chose my flight which then redirected me to crystal travel. I was immediately sent in website loop of trying to re-select the itinerary i have selected from momondo website. When i tried to re-select, the itinerary that was displayed on Crystal travel UI is Different than the one I have chosen (always double check your itinerary after selection!). After the 4th try, I was able to go book it, only to get a message that my booking was waitlisted. I called customer service per the UI display and they wanted me to pay $100 more per ticket as the price online is no longer available (even though this is within 30 sec that i called them), then the call was disconnected. After second attempt to contact customer service, I was given yet a difference price which was you need to now add $90 something instead of $100. Good deal right? So I said sure, lets book it to get this done. Checked my credit card statement, they had charged our credit card twice. Looks like there are some threads online about scam which then made us worry so we decided to cancel the tickets and book from the airline straight. We still haven't gotten the cancellation email. After yet another call and 30+ minutes conversation with them on the phone the next day, they said that they will send the cancellation email this time around WITH $20 charge per ticket (negotiated down from $150 per ticket). Save your headache and hours spent booking through this agent. I will update this review if our refund turned out yet to be another lie / inconsistency. Sadness sadness sadness...

Found a ticket on Kayak.com and was redirected to Crystal Travel. Sent my payment off and received…read morean email saying my booking was declined. I called them up right away to see what the problem was. As it turns out, Crystal is a pretty small travel agent and operator. They operate via a process of negotiation with the airlines. So the price you see is not necessarily the price you will pay later for the ticket. The process for buying a ticket was a little slow as the representative on the phone has to search for a different ticket, then get my confirmation etc. The ticket eventually turned out to be a little cheaper than the original Kayak search results, but the process itself was a pain. The customer rep was great though and all worked out in the end.
