The only thing "wrong" was that the flimsy barcode sticker had fallen off -- something that clearly wasn't my fault. The hat was brand new, unworn, and still had its other tags attached. All I wanted was an exchange because he didn't realize it was a fitted hat and wanted a snap back hat.. Instead of offering any help, the manager, Jenna, not only refused the return but tried to claim there was a "hair" on the hat, as if that justified keeping my money. The accusation felt insulting and completely unnecessary. Everyone tried on hats in the store so to claim a hair was on it was absurd.. it was unworn and still in the bag.. The corporate office does not have a phone number or an email that works.. you must get on their website and talk to a bot and then a human and then they will email you back in a few days.. still waiting on my email.. Here's the kicker: when I drove back to my local store, they immediately offered to exchange or refund the hat with no issues at all. Worst Customer Service!…read more I am very disappointed with the way the manager runs the store. I stopped today 09/23/2025 about 12:10 PM to shop for trail shoes, I found a sketcher shoes that did not have a box, size 13, and marked as $44(Clearance). I went to the cashier, a friendly young black lady to pay for it, I had a coupon with me for 10% off even on clearance items, the friendly young cashier apparently is new and does not have much of experience in handling coupons, she asked the manager of the store about how to handle the transaction. The manager of the store told the cashier not to accept the coupon, I asked the manager for the reason of not accepting the coupon, and the manger told me that the coupon is not valid for clearance items! The coupon stated that clearance items get 10% off. I guess the manager of the store want to show the friendly young cashier that she is the one with the ego and her say is the final word. I am puzzled, all the cashier had to do was to ring the sale, and to scan the coupon to see if the computer will process the 10% off, it does not need a genius! I am very disappointed, the young cashier is not properly trained to execute a simple transaction, and a female manager that put her ego on top of everything instead of seeing what is best for the store, and that is to SELL, and what is best for customers and that is to BUY. I had a really frustrating experience at Bass Pro Shop today. I waited almost two hours at the ammo…read morecounter just to be helped. When it was finally my turn, the employee refused to even run the California ammo eligibility check on my driver's license. The reason? My license shows my city as "Rancho Cucamo" instead of spelling out "Rancho Cucamonga." This is a standard DMV abbreviation because the full city name is too long to fit on the license. Instead of simply running the check and letting the system decide, the employee said he didn't want to process it because the city wasn't spelled out fully. Waiting that long just to be turned away for something printed by the DMV was extremely frustrating. I understand stores have to follow California laws, but refusing to even try the check after a two-hour wait felt unprofessional and like a waste of a customer's time. Hopefully Bass Pro Shop improves training and customer service at the ammo counter so others don't have to deal with the same experience.

What I ended up getting was far more than I expected. The return was seamless and enlightening. All of the employees are so fun, friendly and knowledgeable. I met one young woman who asked if I needed help finding anything. I was looking for packs in the used section but she explained they go quick. I meandered around the store and bumped into her again. I asked her where the packs are and she showed me a large range. Since I'm looking somewhere in the 40-55L range she said she would get someone to help me. Initially I declined having help but she also mentioned a fitting. I had never had a backpack fitting so I accepted the help. Alyssa was amazing!!! She measured my spine and from there helped me find a pack. I learned I have a short torso. Makes sense and my waist is close to my chest so now I was able to find a pack that would sit appropriately on my hips (ilac crest). She was a wealth of knowledge. It was a wonderful visit. I definitely recommend this store if you want to find good deals in store or if you want to buy online and pickup in store.

Other than that they carry top brand gear for almost all the outdoor needs. Plus! They have snowboard and bike service for a quick tune up for the weekend or weekday adventures.
