I recently bought the truck and I was referred to Sam from a fellow Gen 1 Raptor owner. My rear diff/axle was making a howling sound that would get louder the faster I'd go. NOT JUST FOR 4x4s! Detailed review! My 2014 Mustang GT was making a 'rubbing' sound coming from the rear end that was only getting worse as the miles went up and the drone of it was starting to drive me crazy. After changing the fluid and praying it would solve my problems (it didn't - which confirmed I had serious problems) I decided to do some homework on the subject and look for a repair shop I could trust. I normally do ALL my own repairs because I don't trust other people with my vehicles, but with a long drive ahead of me right around the corner I didn't have the time to tackle rebuilding the rear end myself. I came across Pomona Gear that has pretty solid reviews on Yelp and Google. They mostly deal with 4x4s - Jeeps, trucks, large SUVs - no reviews mentioning a lowered Mustang. I figured a differential is a differential and decided to give Sam a call to see if he would look at my car. Asked if I could bring it in the following morning (Friday) and he said no problem. I got there right as he was unlocking the gates and he immediately said lets go for a test drive where he quickly identified my rear end sounds. Said he would open it up and call me before proceeding. I dropped the car off at 9am thinking that it wouldn't be ready until Monday, maybe Saturday if I was lucky. He called me at 3 hours later around noon saying that my carrier bearing and pinion bearing was shot and wanted to do a full overhaul on the rear end. I figured that my gears were going to have to be changed as well but Sam felt that they looked good enough to be reused. I actually tried to get him to go ahead and change them since he was already in there but he told me it would be a waste of money! (NO UPSELLING/GOUGING HERE!!) He calls me again around 2:45pm saying that the car was ready! NO WAY! I got down there and Sam showed me the bad bearings and we talked for a bit. The car is TOTALLY silent now and drives the way it should. Glad I listened to him and kept my gears! He even called me a few hours later to make sure that the sound was gone and that I was happy. I was beside myself on how well the whole process went. Stopped by last week to see Sam. I wanted to go over some ideas I had for my new (to me) 2016 JK 4 door sport and get his opinion. I had heard that he was good, but after my experience I would say he's great. Sam spent the time with me to make sure I was 100% comfortable before we decided on the build. Brought in my lifted 2005 Jeep Rubicon to fix some annoying squeaks and clanks. Sam met me and checked out my car with a test drive. Amazing amazing amazing. The rear end in my 05 Tundra went out. I was planning on finding a used one and having it put in until I remember the HUGE Dodge Ram parked outside this shop. I called the shop inquiring about fixing my truck and was told to bring it on down. When I Got to the shop Sam introduced himself And was very professional. I told him what was going on with my truck and he said let's Go for a Spin. as soon as he heard the symptoms himself he already knew what it was. He gave me a rough estimate with the condition that once he open the rear end things could be worse. I left my truck in great hands. The next day Sam calls me what they bit of bed news but tells me that he can fix the truck and it'll be good as New. He gives me a second price and I time to go ahead with the job he said to give him some Time to get the parts in and he'll get it done as soon as he can. Day number 3 calls me and tells me that my truck is ready to be picked up. I pick up my truck hours later he explains to me the break in period and sends me on my way. I am very happy with the work he did so far. My truck feels good as new. I will update this when I take the truck back to have new oil put in the rear end after the break in period. read more

Sorry it took so long to write this review. I wanted to let the gears break in and make sure that I had no issues before writing this to give a fair and thorough review. So far so good. Sam took care of me. He was honest and reasonable with pricing. We discussed the pros and cons of the two different gearing choices and helped me settle on 4.10 with my Dodge Ram Diesel. The install was quicker than he originally estimated by 1 day which may not mean a lot to most but it is important if this is your daily driver. The parts look like high quality and the install looks professional. The pricing was comparable to ordering online but with the added benefit of having a warranty. Called to see if they will put in my driveshaft for my Jeep. A part that I bought and had everything needed for it just didn't have the tools to install it. Told me it will be $100 I said OK and after a couple of hours trying to figure out a ride back home after dropping my Jeep off I get there and the guy tells me "it's too much for him to do" doesn't tell me it will be more expensive or to come back another day just tells me "its too much for him to do". 1-2 hours tops job??
