I hired Catalyst Inspections and worked directly with Paul Malson prior to purchasing my home. I…read moreultimately had to spend approximately $13,000 on repairs related to issues that were not identified or fully communicated during the inspection. In hindsight, I should have reviewed the inspection agreement more carefully, as it contains extensive exclusions. For transparency, I am including those exclusions, which cover items such as property boundaries, inaccessible areas, system performance and life expectancy, causes of defects, future conditions, code compliance, as well as environmental concerns including rodents, mold, air quality, asbestos, hazardous materials, and other related conditions. That said, my concerns go beyond the standard exclusions. During the inspection, Paul pointed out droppings around the HVAC system and made me aware of that specific area. However, after moving into the home, I discovered there was extensive rodent contamination throughout the attic that was far more significant than what was communicated at the time. The situation required a professional remediation company to remove all attic insulation, and I have had to tear out portions of walls due to the odor from rodent urine. This was clearly not a minor or isolated issue. In addition, I later discovered damage to the HVAC system that was not included in the inspection report. When my realtor raised this concern, Paul stated that the damage must have occurred after his inspection. However, I had multiple professionals evaluate the attic and HVAC area, and they indicated the damage was not recent and had existed well before my purchase. I also reached out directly via email to address these concerns and did not receive a response, which was disappointing. Overall, I would strongly encourage future clients to carefully review the inspection contract, including the exclusions, and consider obtaining specialized inspections (such as pest or HVAC) in addition to a general home inspection.

The folks at Tight Line not only communicated well with both of us but also responded to any questions rapidly and were highly respectful the entire time. First box checked! Second box - quality of work: Mr. Gibbs and his crew painted my ceiling, touched up the walls, pressure washed my entire exterior + driveway, installed cabinet handles, and sanded / painted the front porch railings and rear door trim. Their work was outstanding. Seriously, their price is very fair and even lower than others had quoted but their level of work was second to no one. Second box: friggin nailed it. Lastly, they provided thorough estimates, stuck by their word, and provided pictures of all work completed. Even my tenant went out of her way to compliment their efficiency and quality. Use them for your next job and you won't regret it.

Their end result was pulling up and shredding at the doorways and the pads were unevenly ripped, not cut and had to be replaced again by another company because the feeling was bad. I reached out to Duggins 3 times to fix this. The owner said they'd stand by their work and sent a new guy to fix the wavy carpet and then ceased responding and refuses to come to the phone when I call the company. I called Mr. E., the company representative, at 9:00 on Monday; we met before lunch on Monday. Mr. E. took many photographs of the roof, both of the problem area and of other areas that would turn into problems if I didn't do anything about them, and gave me a detailed explanation. His crew came the next Saturday and fixed the problem. I showed up later in the day and just missed them. Apart from the obviously repaired section of the roof there was no trace that they had been there; they had cleaned up everything completely. I texted Mr. E. and because he was still in the area he came by to receive his payment. He had more photographs and detailed explanations of what the repair crew had done. I am thoroughly pleased.
