The food was amazing and very delicious! The flavoring of the dishes me and my friend ordered was perfectly balanced. The servers were great and very professional. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and families!

Pomet has been on my list for literal years. I finally made it there last week to find out what I'd been missing. The restaurant is charming and intimate, though a tiny loud. That may have been a function of where our table was located, though. We started with the Hokkaido milk buns (for the love of god, do not leave without these), shishito peppers, and grilled peach salad. All of which were 10/10 no notes. Then, at the strong recommendation of our server and sommelier (who had excellent wine pairing recommendations), we went with the pork over the duck for the main. I wanted so badly to love it, but it was a little dry, a little tough, and a little flavorless. The evil trifecta. We felt like the whole thing had gone down hill until we finished with the Dandelion Chocolate Tarte. It was perfection. And I'm a dessert snob. Their ever evolving menu means it won't always be there, but when if it's on the list, GET IT. It absolutely turned any disappointment in the main dish around.

Don't even think about asking for a straw at Pomet unless you want a side eye. Cuz Pomet has a Green Michelin Star for their sustainability philosophy and practices. After being named the nation's best food city two years in a row, I've decided to put my big girl pants on and brave the bridge to The Town. Opening in 2022, Pomet is from the owner of K&J Orchards (family-owned farm) so you know their ingredients are going to be hyper-seasonal and top-tier. They have an awesome outdoor seating set-up, the perfect place for a celebratory meal since I had my dog with me. Rezzies are an absolute must. M E N U Seasonal Californian Cuisine with AZN influences focusing on impeccably fresh veggies, house pastas, regional seafood, and ethically sourced meat. Beer and wine only. F O O D * Hokkaido Milk Bread Rolls w/ house-cultured butter and its whey, K&J Orchards fig leaf oil ($9): https://tinyurl.com/y6t3ad5b I'll gladly pay for housemade bread but if you're charging $9 for two small rolls, they must be served warm/hot. Period. These were not which sacrificed the taste and texture. * Steamed Egg w/ farm egg, crispy chili oil ($15): https://tinyurl.com/ycshyntf A special of the night, akin to gyeran jjim, the Korean steamed egg was savory and custardy but without the floof. * Crispy Turnip Tots w/ xo sauce, chives, pickled daikon, shio koji mayo ($15): https://tinyurl.com/yz8u56vv This hapa baby is Chinese lo bak go in tater tot form. Delicately crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside with a delicious umami tang from the accoutrements. GET THIS! * Korean Fried Duck Leg w/ honey garlic soy glaze, seasonal house pickles ($24 + $3 radish kimchi): https://tinyurl.com/yekh4xmz Elevated KFC, or in this case KFD. Crispy skin coated in a savory-sweet aromatic glaze with meltingly tender meat. Nicely gamey. House pickled and radish kimchi provided a refreshing acidic in-between bites. * Grilled Cod Collars w/ miso shio koji glaze, pickled peaches, pistachios ($26): https://tinyurl.com/42ppx7ww Intricate flavor profile, richly umami with an earthy sweet tang BUT the cod was undercooked, some parts were glassy and resisted flaking. * Ugly Mushroom Caramelle w/ shared cultures kombu garlic miso, breadcrumbs ($24): https://tinyurl.com/4fwsvztc A highly recommended dish, the flavor was on-point...deeply savory, earthy, and full of umami. Sadly, like the cod, the candy wrapper shaped pasta was hard and undercooked. * Kinegeman Pork Coppa Chop w/ roasted K&J Orchards quince, Lonely Mountain french shallots, pork jus ($58): https://tinyurl.com/5sd7mbeu - Cooked medium as default Redeeming the cod and caramelle, the pork coppa chop was BOMB! The ribeye of pork - great marbling, incredibly tender, and juicy. Porky and complex in flavor (than your standard pork chop), perfectly complemented by the sweet and slightly tart quince. Nothing enticing on the 3-item dessert menu but they kindly brought out a several slices of pluot with a candle. S E R V I C E Refined and polished service but a bit too serious. We asked if the dishes could be served as ready from the kitchen and was told everything had to be coursed out. There ended up being long lags between some courses. A M B I A N C E Casual and sophisticated with an open kitchen and warm lighting. There's a private dining room in back. LOVED the "alleyway" outdoor seating, away from foot traffic and against a rustic brick wall and fairy lights. Shaded from the building. Heat lamps available. P A R K I N G Easy street parking (weekend) and there's a lot in back. Overall, we had a very enjoyable dinner despite some cookery issues. A big plus for the dog-friendly outdoor seating. If you're looking for a nice sit-down resto serving elevated, ingredient-driven cuisine with a creative AZN flair but still approachable...hit up Pomet!

This is the type of restaurant you'd visit if you wanted to treat yourself. Included on the Michelin Guide, Pomet features an elevated American menu with fresh ingredients that will stun your tastebuds. The restaurant itself is cozy, with an open view to the kitchen. The service is impeccable, with the table being cleaned and reset after each dish. As for the food itself, the starters are where the magic is. There were two dishes that blew me away, one being the fried duck leg. Imagine grabbing the crispiest piece of Korean fried chicken but elevating that up a level. The skin crunches as you bite into it, revealing duck meat that is perfectly cooked, juicy, and glides off the bone. I would honestly come back here just for this dish. The other famous dish is their 'ugly mushroom filled pasta', which has been on the menu since the restaurant opened. Featuring a handful of pasta stuffed with a mushroom paste, garnished with shiitake miso, the dish is bursting with umami. Pomet is a spot you must-visit if you're in the East Bay, and is the perfect restaurant for a special occasion.

I've been to Pomet twice, once when they first opened and once recently when they got onto the Michelin Guide. Both times were excellent and service was impeccable. Truly a farm to table experience and their menu changes with the produce available and at peak through K & J Orchards. Recent standouts were the Hokkaido Milk Bread and the Turnip Tots. Don't sleep on the Pork Chop- it was so tender! There are a lot of places to eat and if there is one place I would recommend for a nice dinner in Oakland, Pomet fits the bill. Easy parking - if not on Piedmont Ave, lots of side street spots.

My husband went for an early dinner last night. They graciously allowed us to start a half hour early. The entire staff is very welcoming, attentive and hyper efficient. The interior is very well decorated. This is truly a farm to table experience. We enjoyed everything we ate: Chips, carrots, turnip tots, duck pappardelle, polenta w/squash, rolls & blueberry/peach cobbler. We also had a glass of wine & a hazy IPA. Both our favorite was the cobbler with fresh blueberry ice cream. Things to note: 1. You need reservations. Pomet will charge $25 a person. 2. Pomet puts 20% tip on your bill. Fine by us, we usually like to leave a cash tip though, to ensure server receives. 3. Wine list was limited to us. To be fair, we are a bit snobbish on our wine selection. 4. Serving size is small. Wish the pappardelle was served hot, instead of luke warm. But it was still delicious! Enjoy this all welcoming establishment. Some folks were all dressed up, others in tennis shoes & totally casual. We both recommend their fruit cobbler w/ fruit ice cream and their duck pappardelle!

Mushroom pasta was fantastic!! Omg I wanna go back tomorrow.
Laura M.

Super yummy, the mushroom pasta was buttery and fun tootsie roll shape, delish umami flavor with the miso, also got the papardelle which was super homemade authentic tasting too and had chicharrones which I have a soft spot for, very satiating and rich. And the milk bread was delish too. Basically everything's good I wanna go back asap.

Pomet is one of those restaurants you remember long after the meal is over. From the moment you walk in you can feel how thoughtful and intentional everything is, from the seasonally driven menu to the warm, attentive service. Pomet proudly holds a Michelin Green Star, which celebrates its deep commitment to sustainability and local sourcing. The ingredients come from nearby farms and orchards, especially the owner's own family orchard, and the result is food that genuinely tastes like California in every bite. MICHELIN Guide +1 The kitchen is led by an incredibly talented team with women at the core of the vision, including the head chef who continues to push the menu in exciting and creative directions. It feels refreshing to dine in a place where the leadership reflects such passion and care. Every dish we had was vibrant and nuanced. There is a strong focus on seasonal produce, with standout moments that meld technique and simplicity without ever feeling predictable. The flavors are elevated yet grounded, and each plate arrives looking as good as it tastes. Service is consistently excellent, striking a great balance of friendly and professional. The space feels both elegant and inviting, perfect for a date night or a special evening out, but never unapproachable. Pomet is a standout in the Bay Area dining scene. It's a place that celebrates local ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and genuine hospitality. Highly recommend making reservations ahead of time.

Cod with beans in front. Squash main dish in the back.
Jessica T.

Went here during the holidays, it's a cute cozy spot that's had a lot of turnover. The best thing we ate was the poached pear salad which was fresh and had a great flavor blend. Second favorite was the mushroom ravioli pasta which honestly should be a main dish instead of an appetizer (much better than the squash as a main dish - which was just ok). Milk bread rolls, always delish. Cod with beans was fine if you really enjoy beans. The duck gochuchang pasta was... Not good at all - strange flavor combo and very little duck.

It's an authentic farm to table fine dining restaurant with freshly cooked fusion cuisines. They have daily menu with reservation required. Reservation requires deposits. Service is quick and responsive. Flat entry for accessibility and wider tables could be accommodated upon retest. Every dish has a story of ingredients and process. All options available. Food is delicious and freshly prepared to order. Ambient is worst and romantic, great for date night, couples and occasions.

Teri K.

Would have been 5 stars if they installed something to dampen the noise. Food and service are stellar but it was just so noisy when all tables are full.

I've been here for date nights, holiday dinners, business dinners, and countless meals with friends visiting from out of town. It's one of those rare restaurants that seems to work for just about any occasion. The service is always great, the College Avenue location is hard to beat, and I've always had good luck finding street parking nearby. The ribeye is my personal favorite and what I order more often than not. If you're coming with a group, the cheese and charcuterie plates are a great way to start. The menu is varied enough that there's always something for everyone, and I've never had a bad meal here. I was genuinely sad to hear that they'll be closing at the end of the year. Restaurants with this kind of quality, consistency, and character are increasingly rare. If you've never been, make a point of going while you still can. I'll certainly miss it once they're gone.

I honestly looked forward to eating here since it was on the Michelin guide and read some great reviews here on yelp. Even though I was excited to visit, after dining here, my expectations came out to a disappointment. For a table of 4 we were left unsatisfied and a little hungry after losing our appetite. 3/5 of what's ordered was a bust. The menu prices were a medium-high, especially for entree, I had higher expectations which I don't mind paying for, but the food wasn't convincing enough that the price was an afterthought. I couldn't justify what I was paying for after eating. Plating is beautiful but for over $39 of entree you would have expected at least some starch and maybe a few or more pieces of fibrous greens. For the price of the duck breast and pork chop that was mid, it would have been better buying a whole roast duck and crispy pork at a chinese roastery for a third of the price. Food: Octopus was good 4/5 I'd definitely recommend grabbing it as your starter. It was very tender and I enjoyed the flavors. Wish there was more. Brussel Sprouts 1/5 I don't recommend. It was overly cooked to the point the texture inside was mushy and the outside was burnt to the point it was very bitter. The sauce/dressing for it was delicious but that wasn't enough to help so we sent it back. Halibut 4/5 Best entree I'd recommend. It was cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious for it. Pork Chop 2.5/5 The sauce was good but the taste reminds me of a vinaigrette salad dressing. I did wish there was more flavor from the pork but it was fine. The meat was nice and tender. Unfortunately the pork bone was still rare on the inside, otherwise it would've gotten a higher score. Duck Breast 2/5 I'm not sure if the chef intentionally cooked the duck breast to be that rare but I fully expected a nice medium from the photos I've seen from the reviews. We weren't a fan and left it half eaten (mostly the medium pink parts). The duck wasn't tender and very chewy. Was more gamey. Skin wasn't crispy or rendered enough and was more of a rubbery, flabby and a thick texture. It was very unfortunate because the sauce was very delicious. Dessert 4/5 Although we didn't finish the pork or duck entree and asked for the check, I didn't expect it but I really appreciated the surprised complimentary dessert. The ice cream birthday cake was good but because I had lost my appetite, we didn't finish it and decided to leave after a couple bites. Service 5/5 Staff were very friendly and accommodating. I accidentally reserved for a table of 2 instead of 4 and fortunately the host was cool about it and we were lucky enough to have extra seating available. Water was consistently refilled without being asked. We were checked on regularly but not to the point we were constantly hovered over. Table was cleaned with our plates and utensils changed after each meal which was nice. Ambience It's cute and cozy. The outside dining is nice for a warm day. The bar area is nice. Drinks were good. I would come back just to hang out at the bar.
