Pizza dough from Camas Country Mill, whole grain, non-GMO, non-iron enriched, sustainable, local farm & milling - that's higher quality the way I like! How does Daniel's wood fired pizza taste - as good as Ken's Artisan (and Ken is a James Beard award winner for his bread and dough). Like Ken's and MT Hood Brewing pizza, the pizza is thin, cooked all the way through and not guey (hate that!!!). The crust is very airy and crunchy (love that!!!). Char marks on the underside meaning hot hot hot in the oven. I had the four cheese, potato and arugula. Arugula in big stocks drizzled in oil placed on top. It is like an arugula salad. Underneath are the cheese's blended and spread over the top and silver dollar sized, thin cut potato potato potato! Pizza chef, Daniel and his partner worked for Avagene's so they have connections with local farms. They're doing it right bringing in ingredients that are higher quality and supporting local. Doesn't get any better for us Foodies. Daniel wheels in the wood fired oven by trailer and sets up at the nursery entrance. Then, take you pie slices and slip into the magical and serenity surroundings of plants plants plants among architectural features. The spaces around the nursery are relaxing, kick back and enjoy. From the street, walk in. Inside you'll forget that you are in the Alpha District. You are in another world with plants plants plants abounding around. I stumbled upon this really cool place the other day while walking around the Pearl, or is it Slabtown. I walked around for a good 40 minutes and still hadn't seen everything. The way this nursery is set up, it's like wandering through paths and discovering pots and plants and statuary, and landscape ideas etc. It's very refreshing, and most of all, I loved finding the chickens. My favorite part of this Nursery was the chicken I saw roaming around. There were a lot of cool looking plants and garden features, but I never actually saw any associates, so I couldn't ask any questions about said cool plants. It seems like a great place; we wandered for a while and met the aforementioned chicken, saw some fun stuff, but ultimately walked away empty handed because we just could not find anyone who seemed to work there. read more

Wife wanted a Monstera plant as an anniversary remembrance. Since we were in Portland, I looked up nursery near us. We found this little gem. The gentleman that greeted us at the door was awesome. He encouraged us to browse as he continued to help another customer. Immediately we found our desired plant. The price tag wasn't on the plant so we waited for our opportunity for assistance. When he had a moment he quickly asked if we had questions and we asked about the price. Upon answering our he also encouraged to take a look at some other Monsteras he had in a different space. We finally picked out the plant we wanted and went to pay. He gave us a lot of tips on how to take care of the plant and some interesting facts. this is actually the best nursery ever. it's massive and enjoyable. I even saw live chickens here. yes chickens. the indoor selection is in two different places, it's slightly small but the prices are excellent. I got an exotica and string of turtle 6" pot for only 22$ each here. THATS SO GOOD. string of turtles are like 10$ for a 1" pot these days. I also got a large air plant for 20$. quite an enjoyable place and the staff was super friendly. read more

Wedding venue and photo op spot | Beautiful variety $$ We've come here a couple of times to walk around, and every time we've visited we ended up making a purchase. The owner always greets us and is friendly. Every worker is friendly and made sure we're taken cared of. They are incredibly knowledgeable! Don't be afraid to ask them a question or speak up about your love for all things plants. Aaron loves what he does. He makes a lot of the bonzai arrangements, super neat! They have a lot of different plants and various pottery towards the far right side inside a separate building and outside. The water fountains make the place feel really tranquil. There's a middle section that seems to be dedicated to hold events. Great place for events like weddings. We've been here once where a couple was taking their wedding photos and going next door for a reception. Definitely check out their indoor plants. We recently moved from a place with a lot of plants that I had to leave behind for reasons. So I was really dying for some greenery and found this place near to where we live. I know there are many reviews that say five star and that might be.. but my review is anything but. We purchased an expensive inside tree a year ago and we are about to lose it with no help from The nursery. Firstly, they didn't have it ready when we had an appointed time to pick up. There was zero consult on how to care for it.. and even after taking time six months later to go see someone at the nursery about how to properly care for it we got nothing but a basic water two liters a week. Since then and following their guidelines it's now dead. And they basically say tough luck... sorry after spending about $500 bucks. Save your money.. go somewhere else. This place is all about NW money and not about customer service. Respectfully... we will never return. read more

Came here right after the giant snowstorm last month so everything was still covered with a half foot of snow. The gates were open but no one was around or made an effort to greet me. I couldn't find anyone...which is why I left confused and no real opinion of this place. ...where are the indoor plants at? Beautiful nursery with a pretty wide selection of things for indoor and outdoor gardens, plus plenty of attentive staff. Also the grounds are gorgeous and the train goes right by (how fun!). Can I add a star because the bathroom was so fresh and so clean clean? I think perhaps they rent out part of the space as a venue. Street parking was free and easy. And the lady even carried my cousin's tiny Christmas tree out to the car for us. Prices seemed a little high, but the whole experience felt high-end. read more

This nursery has beautiful plants. They have a decent sized outside and two areas of inside plants. Some of my favorites were there, monsteras, pileas, rubber plants and really healthy succulents. Their prices didn't seem too outrageous to me but I honestly don't have much to compare it to. They do have a parking lot a teeny bit past their shop too! read more

Awesome place with amazing customer service! I've gotten a few plants from them, little pests here and there but overall they've been great! I purchased a palm from Pomarius a few months ago that I was excited about. After about a week or so I noticed it has some mite issues. I consider this fairly common for large outdoor nurseries, it can be really difficult to avoid pests with so much space/exposure. After treating it for a few weeks I found that it also had scale, another common issue. Overwhelmed, I called the nursery to see if I could just bring the plant in to return, no refund necessary. Wes spoke to me over the phone and told me he would love to make things right and even pick it up for me. WHAT!?!? This was such a sweet gesture and a big help for me since moving larger plants is precarious. Above and beyond helpful! He held my potted plant for me for about a month (I got a little busy, lol) and had it for me when I returned back to the nursery. Thanks to the greenhouse staff that was there to help me choose, I found a new plant that is healthy and happy to fill it. Overall the staff is so sweet and helpful! The reviews saying that they are not always present are a little true, but it is such a large space to manage and good help is hard to come by. My only wish is that they can have even more people like Wes, Aaron, and Carter(Cooper maybe, having a hard time remembering) around because great customer service goes such a long way! Tonight was my second visit to Pomarius Nursery and I couldn't be happy with my experience. I needed a small potted Christmas tree for a Christmas party I'm having tomorrow, which is very hard to find in NW Portland. They showed me a few options and helped me pick the the perfect tree for me. They went above and beyond and I am so thankful for all their help. I've worked in the Pearl for years, and I first heard about this place from our mailman. Well, I just moved to the neighborhood, and since I finally have a home with lots of natural light and good size balcony that also gets a lot of light, I've been meaning to stop by Pomarius for some foliage. I live right around the corner from this place so I rode my bike over yesterday afternoon. Mind you, I haven't had to take care of plants since I was a kid having to help my mom in the garden, so I'm basically a novice at this stuff, starting over at almost 30 years old now. I walked in, and was immediately greeted by Bert (Burt?). He was super friendly, and easy to talk to. I didn't once feel too intimidated to ask him all the questions I had. He ended up helping me from beginning to end, answering all my questions and giving me lots of great tips without any hesitation. He really made it all sound a lot easier than I had told myself it would be. Bert helped me pick out the most beautiful additions that would work best with my level of experience, living space, and time for care. He even re-potted my aloe plant into the new pot I purchased, as well as placing some rocks at the bottom for drainage, and some pretty little pebbles on top. This guy even helped me carry my plants out to my bike, and helped me fit it all into my basket! It didn't hurt that he was also pretty funny and easy on the eyes, but I digress... ;) I was also very grateful for Amanda-- she's got that eye for aesthetics and beauty, and she helped me select the aforementioned lovely new pot for my aloe plant, as well as gave me advice on the pot that my adorable little myrtle tree came in. After all the information and the warm and welcoming experience here, I will be back to collect more "plant babies" for my new home. I am so glad that this is my neighborhood nursery! read more

My office overlooks this nursery in the outskirts of the Pearl District. I was a little bit intimidated because I expected that it would be out of my price range, and maybe even snooty, but curiosity trumped reticence and today I stopped by. It's gorgeous in there. And the people are very friendly~! Pomarius is a nicely curated nursery, with well-tended plants. If interesting plants excite you, this is your place. I walked out of there with 3 purple oxalis and two miniature hostas for about $40. Price-wise- it's on par with Portland Nursery, but Pomarius has created a space with beautiful rooms of plants, amazing boxwood topiaries and lovely trees. Much less overwhelming. Much more thoughtful. If you're a gardening enthusiast, this place is definitely worth a look. read more
