I'm glad we found this place today. We were on our way home from the beach and wanted to try a new place. The waitstaff were pleasant and they never let my water glass go empty. If you like ramen and love spicy boiled shrimp, the Backyard Shrimp Boil ramen bowl is for you! I paired that up with a Mai Tai that was the best I have found outside of Hawaii. It was stout but good! My wife had the Paradise Pot Buddha Bowl which she really enjoyed. My daughter loved the Spam fried rice. We didn't know they close early on Sunday and we sat down right before closing but they still treated us as guests and mixed my Mai Tai even though the barkeeper was cleaning up. Decided to take a little drive down to lake Jackson to try this place out and we are so happy we did! Not knowing what to expect from a small town Hawaiian themed eatery; we were pleasantly surprised by not only the amazing customer service but also the great food and drinks! Becky the mgr was great she not only recommended some phenomenal dishes but all some pretty yummy drinks from their tiki bar. I would not recommend their brunch. We tried for the 1st time today and despite their well advertised pictures, we were not impressed. Our waitress was nice, but didn't know the (small) menu well. My bacon, egg and cheese waffle was missing the cheese and the strawberry and cream waffle was just okay, but definitely wasn't stuffed like the advertised photo and just tasted like plain cream cheese with a few fresh strawberries. They didn't have coffee (despite me calling the night before to confirm they had it) and they were out of the tamales. Everything we ordered was delicious! The atmosphere, presentation, & service was great too! The raspberry habanero wings were my favorite among the other food we ordered. We had riblets (which just fall off the bone), riblet tacos, tao taco Buddha bowl, and the raspberry habanero wings. The tropical green tea was superb too. We stopped by for a snack/lunch before a birthday party. The atmosphere here is tropical and fun. This is a bar but we weren't the only one who brought a kiddo with us. They do have regular tables on the other side of the bar. They do not have a kids menu, but the brunch menu has all kinds of fun waffles that they would enjoy. We ordered the Pimento Cheese Tray and the sriracha wings. It was good! Can't wait to go back when I'm not expecting to try their fun drinks! Staff was very friendly and attentive as well. read more

The drinks were alright but they won't use higher end rums in them if you ask. I ordered a Mai Tai but requested a higher end, and ubiquitous aged rum they had on their menu and they refused. My friend ordered a Shark Bite and they drizzled the side of the glass with cherry sauce that melted as soon as it came out causing a mess. I tried their food a couple of times and it was pretty bland. The chicken in the Buddha Bowl was unpalatable every time I ordered it. I also have never been to a tiki bar/restaurant that played reggae exclusively. Polynesia and The Caribbean are two vastly different places. For being a tiki joint it isn't a very good or convincing one. They have missed the mark. read more

Definitely have to enjoy the esthetic of this new hip joint. The bar and the decor is definitely worth seeing. However, the drinks are so specialty, the prices are through the roof. Comparable to downtown Houston prices and small portions, I would definitely say you get more out of your experience if you go during a happy hour and on Taco night. Disregard the ramen, very bland and small for the price. Head to a specialty restaurant if that's what you're craving. The only thing left to point out is the less than tasteful attire the female waitstaff have to wear. It looks as if they just left a yoga studio or a sorority house. Lose the leggings and get a more appropriate attire on the floor. I want a mouth full of savory food, not an eye full of their bottom halves! read more

Wow I loved this place great food and great drinks. We had the rib app the Tamale app and the chicken wing app they were all great. For dinner I had the Ramen and loved it. The best crawfish in the area, hands down. We killed ten pounds. All were large and cooked perfectly. These are as good as crawfish and noodle in Houston. The flavor was incredible and they were juicy. The Potatoes and corn were plenty and both cooked right. Free delivery and also we got a jug of pain killers. Umm do people have no taste buds that have been reviewing this place? Anywho where to begin... Came here this past Saturday night. Sat outside right by the entrance. Had our orders taken and while waiting, a few girls who worked there (in their Hawaiian outfits) and looked to be about 19, came outside, stood within inches of us and kept taking pics and selfies of themselves, while being extremely loud and obnoxious. At one point, one of the girls literally had her behind in my husband's face. That's when I started getting angry and was about to say something but luckily just my angry look was enough to send them back inside. It was then that our server came out and brought me the wrong drink and asked me if I still wanted it. The drink was $5 more than the one I ordered. I asked her if I had to pay full price. She told me that I did. I declined and she took the drink away. I'd love to know what poor soul ended up with that $15 used drink after me. Ridiculous. Why not just let me keep the drink??? Who does that??? I know for a fact that other establishments pour wrong drinks out or offer the patron to keep it for free. Then, years later when I finally got the drink I actually ordered, it ended up tasting nasty. We left after that. Wow, just wow. read more
