We first had the Saturn (with non-alcoholic gin) and the Puka Punch, and then the Kobra's Fang and the Bay Breeze (made with non-alcholic vodka). Both were just SO delicious! If you're a tikiphile, make this a regular location for your nights out. The only recommendation I could make to management is that our table needed a wipe down (there was a light dusting of something grainy on the surface), and the menus were a bit sticky, but the experience was so wonderful I consider that a small inconvenience and nothing worth missing out on this fun venue for! The Kumquat Tot is hands down my favorite. Kumquat, gin, mint, and a few other choice ingredients make this one of the most unique and refreshing cocktails I've ever had. Drinks are served in classic tiki glassware. I dig the vibe here real hard. It's rad. Decor is thatched walls, huts, voodoo, fire, and skulls. Mood lighting enhances the overall theme. The bar is located in a very unassuming location within a tiny little strip of businesses in the suburbs of northern Houston. Signage outside isn't obvious but once you step inside, you're transported to a little slice of paradise. The fellow seated at the bar next to me turned out to be the owner, Russell Thoede, who was very nice and we engaged in a nice chat about California tiki bars many of which he has visited. The drinks I had were fantastic; Donn's Original Zombie ($18) and Ground Control ($17) and stack right up there with the best we have here in California. The outside however had great ambiance, and the server was very accommodating with us moving to the sandy beach chairs.
