This was not posted nor was it said to me when I walked in the store or while I was looking at and holding clothing. If this is the common practice then it should be made known to shoppers. I handed the employee my clothing (about 10-15 pieces and planned on buying at least 3 things) and left the store.

On December 30th 2023 I was shopping with family in Polaris and said what the heck let's give another go. This time I can honestly say I had some of the best customer service I've had in a long while. Every single employee that I engage with was super nice and very professional. Not to mention that the deals that were going on in the store at the time I was there were amazing I appreciate a good deal. It wouldn't have been fair to the establishment to write them off based off one distasteful interaction I had. The Customer Service alone is the reason why I decided to do another review and give a five star rating.

Let's start with the cons so we can end on a high note, shall we? 1) The bathroom was horrendous. I don't do public restrooms unless I absolutely have to and this one was not good at all. 2) I get that the holiday season has arrived so people are out and about, but it was so congested it was uncomfortable. As in, the aisles were so tight, tons of stuff placed in the walkways, things like that. I even heard another customer say "this is giving me anxiety," and goodness I felt that in my core. I'm sure you have a lot of crap to put on the floors, but give us some space to walk, please. Thank you. Now for the positives... 1) While the checkout line was a mile long, they got through it quickly! 2) The dressing rooms were clean and they had plenty available. 3) While prices have gone up everywhere on the planet, it's still really affordable. 4) The people working there were really nice.

Some of the bad reviews are kind of judging them as if they were a retail outlet, but the fact that they are charity based and that everything is so cheap and used, means it's such a great recycling concept, and that it automatically has to get a better rating lens (I just made up a hipster term, anoint me people) than the corporate (and carpet, which is what my predictive text wanted to say) places - and I can't possibly give it less than 4 even though I can see why it's not most people's favorite Thrift Shop.
