We recently came to Polly's Pies after moving to the area a couple of months ago -- we always passed by it and finally decided to try it. We went on a Sunday around 1 PM. It didn't seem too busy, but service was still a bit slow. Even though it was later in the day, we still ordered breakfast. My fiancé got the chicken pot pie and said he would definitely order it again. I ordered the French toast combo and it was delicious. We were planning to try the pies in-house, but we were too full, so we ended up taking them home instead. I got a slice of banana cream pie and my fiancé got the chocolate cream pie -- both were so good, now we understand why it's called Polly's Pies. We would definitely come back and recommend it. Dude best cinnamon rolls ever. The portion was huge, it was nice and fluffy, warm, and had lots of frosting and for only $5.50. Now I know where to go when i'm craving cinnamon rolls! Elaine was our waitress and she was amazing. So sweet and got us whatever we needed. Polly's Pies May special is a double crusted Peach filling pie and we couldn't resist. As long as we were at Polly's we decided to have our lunch. The lovely missus had her sandwich and what she liked was the cup of tomato basil soup. My lunch special chicken sandwich was a good portion which included French fries and a chocolate chip cookie. Ofcourse we got the Peach pie to go as well as a couple orders of the Mother's day Pie Bites. Interesting bite sized apple, boysenberry and cherry filled morsels at $6.99 in a present see-thru top pink box. We had a good lunch and we'll have dessert later at home. We also want to thank Jorge for his attentive friendly service... he was pretty busy tending to many other patrons. This is my favorite Polly's location! The others are fine, they just have a more 70's old school vibe, while this one is a bit more modern with the simple black and white stripe upholstery to the back of the booth seats. It's also got a little patio to the side that is completely covered. I will definitely be sitting out there next time! This chain has an awesome birthday deal every year when you sign up. Not only do you get a free meal, but you get a free slice of pie too, and there's no purchase necessary. But if you take people, everyone who orders an entree gets a free slice of pie too! And their pies are deeeeeelicious! All of the fruit pies are amazing! And not every diner makes custard pie, but Polly's does! I also have to mention that their burger is phenomenal! A friend had told us about the tomato soup and the $3/15 deal. We felt like we needed to try it. We felt like it was blow back of a Seinfeld episode going for the early bird special. We were pleasantly surprised , the restaurant was very clean, nicely decorated from Valentines Day and the staff was warm and friendly. We upgraded to the Salmon and it was very good. Work gave us a gift card for the holidays and decided to check this spot out cause why not. I got their HUGE cinnamon rolls and Dutch apple pie! I am very pleased with on how soft the cinnamon roll was and I also asked for extra icing on the side which was perfect! Most places the icing goes away when heating up and you never have enough icing. But the extra icing on the side to top off after heating it up was soooo good! I decided to give this spot another chance, last night. How could the experience get even worse? This time we were treated as an afterthought, and our server never checked on us. We completed our meal, and didn't have a check-in or dropping of the check. We heard the staff be friendly with other patrons, but perhaps they only like the "usuals/regulars". Polly's on Adams Avenue HB has always been my favorite location. I feel at home whenever I get breakfast with my family here. The service is always prompt and kind. The clock somehow feels slower and kinder as soon as you step in. And in a good way. The food comes out quickly but we never feel rushed. The pancakes and skillets here never fails to satisfy our palate. Everything always comes out perfectly no matter when we visit. I know of no other place I like eating my eggs and pancakes in SoCal. Pancakes always tastes fluffy, eggs perfectly cooked and not rubbery. The bacons are crispy and sausages tastes great. I don't even like eating processed meat but I gladly gobble them up if it's from Polly's! I let the cashier know during checkout that we're glad to revisit even if it's a bit of a hike from Aliso. She told me there are customers who come from Long Beach and Los Alamitos saying the same thing. I agree with them and think they too are on to something!! Parking is free here and plenty outside. Came by on a Saturday for some lunch food during breakfast hours (before 10 am). I ordered their Prime Rib French Dip only to find out that it was not available. Beware! We recently had a frightening experience at Polly's. My wife found shards of glass in the pie we ordered for her birthday. She managed to spit out a few pieces and had a burning sensation in her throat for several days. Thankfully, our three-year-old didn't have any before we discovered the glass. Polly's didn't seem overly concerned about the incident. We received a refund for the pie and had to fill out an incident report. I've been to Polly's Pies before and had great experiences, which makes this visit especially disappointing. I brought my daughter for breakfast and we had our small Yorkie with us, so we sat on the outdoor patio. We were the first table seated outside, and shortly after, two other tables were seated near us. Despite this, no one ever came to greet us, offer water, or take a drink order. What made it worse was watching the table next to us get served while we were still completely ignored--not even a simple acknowledgment. After waiting long enough, we got up and left. Customer service goes a long way. Even if staff is busy, acknowledging a table makes all the difference. Unfortunately, today's service was unacceptable. Came here for the first time with my mom and sister and we are DEFINITELY COMING BACK! The food was delicious and the service was amazing. Shoutout to Jorge!! Been coming to this Polly pies location HB for the longest time. Over the years they have remodel and it looks really nice. The banberry pie is still my favorite and go to pie. I always bring it for events and parties and it's always a hit. You can always order a head of time online or just come by and pick one up. Came here to redeem my birthday coupon and it didn't go smoothly. When I printed the email, for some reason the coupon code didn't come out but the coupon to get a free slice of pie did. I was so sad but the manager made up for it. I showed her how I tried to look for it and i had my actual printout and she decided to just give it to me. I was so relieved. I love the remodeled location and it looks great, but sadly my positive experience stopped there. When I walked in, three staff just stared and didn't greet me - so strange. I had to tell them I'm here to pick up and they still looked confused. No one asked "name?" "oh, you're here to pick up"... Very odd. However, there are other customary items like sandwiches and burgers that are priced just right for the portion. I normally just go here for their pies but today I stopped by for lunch. Although the food here isn't memorable, my server Jeannie certainly was. She alone is why I am giving a 5 star rating. She radiates sunshine and exudes positive energy with her warm smile and friendly personality. She seems to really enjoy her customers and it is clearly mutual. She was rude to our server several times in front of if customers. When I left I told her how unprofessional she was. She should have been trying to help him get through the rush. Instead she would just tell him to "pick up the pace" "why are the tables still dirty" have you not done this yet? It was obvious she was having a bad day. Or didn't like the server.
