Her right eye has also been irritated and inflamed after she was groomed there. I have been trying to find someone on the island who would do ala cart grooming on my baby Sheltie, Barry. Not only did Stacey take him immediately, she did a great job clipping his nails, trimming his pad fur and removing a pesky mat. She addressed his issues right away and then gave me some instructions and tips on future home grooming (which I definitely needed) and her price was more than reasonable. Stay away. I went to gather information about grooming and the lady and some kid, who must related, started arguing and interjecting themselves to me. It was crazy. I asked what they needed from me IRT my dog..you know. Vaccines up to date list, etc and the kid says "we don't need none of that" as he is texting on his phone. I was talking to the owner lady or so I thought. The kid is just sitting in the lobby. Then I thought...wait, you don't want to know if the pets you take in are up to date on vaccines??!! Danger Will Robinson! I'm used to places that demand records to ensure pups don't impact other pups. From the rough smell and dusty decor to the ambivalence about medical status to the lady telling me she needs to find cards with a phone number and having no clue about process or procedures there is NO WAY I'm leaving the solid gold pup I own to their care. Our pets demand we take care of them...leaving your pup here is a gamble. read more

I went to this adorable little shop in a great location in the village. I wanted to personally meet the owner/groomer. She was busy but made a reservation for me in 2 days. By the way, I was looking for a reliable groomer that connected with my long haired puppy for biweekly grooming, to keep those Matts away. When I arrived at the appointment time, she hadn't written it down and already forgot us. ?!? She was full and wanted me to come back tomorrow!? Sorry, that's rude and poor business practice. I found another groomer. So, honestly, I don't even know if she's a good groomer but my dog was so extremely nervous around her both times that she "peed" on the floor from fear. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would!! I was visiting Coronado for two weeks and my 3 year old Brussels Griffon needed a bath a light grooming. She is very anxious and high energy so I was a little apprehensive about taking her to a new place. The moment we walked into the salon the gals at Pollyanna's created an immediate bond with Rosie. She was calm and her tail was wagging at full speed . I was so impressed with how clean and tidy the salon was and it smelled as clean as it looked ! I received a call about an hour later to pick Rosie up and when I arrived she was SO ADORABLE and SO HAPPY!! I only wish Pollyanna's was in AZ. These gals would be Rosie's groomers without a doubt!! Pollyanna's is wonderful! Over the years I have taken 3 of my dogs there. I have been a very satisfied customer. I just picked up my dog, Tanner, from being groomed there today. He looks great! Stacey and Sheri and their crew are the best and treat all the dogs like there own. Not sure why the guy just posted something negative about them because there is nothing negative about Polyanna's. Everything was just peachy here until my dog ended up with double ear infections. Then the friendly attitude from the proprietor changed. A little background: I've had my dog for two years, and he's been getting groomed every 3 weeks during that time. I switched over to Pollyanna after we moved because it was a more convenient location. After 3 visits to this groomer, my little guy had ear infections for the first time in his life! I actually didn't even expect Pollyanna to pay the vet bill, as MANY clients often expect. Instead, I went in and basically said "I want to keep the relationship. Let's just make some changes: extra cotton in ears, and no plucking the ear hair." I also wanted them to cut my dog down short since he became quite matted as a result of the goopy, messy ear medication. The older lady who smokes a cigar denied they had caused the ear infections, and said my dog probably got water in his ears from his water dish. Ummm... really?!? She also refused to cut him short, saying that because he is a white dog with pink skin, only a vet can do it. After some searching, I found a much better groomer at "Spawtlight" located downtown in the East Village. I will never return to Pollyanna. read more

I've had my dog groomed many places over the last 6 years as I move around to different neighborhoods in San Diego. My older dog, Lhasa Apso, he's easy, very obedient and calm with any groomer I go to. But 2 years ago I got a second dog, an American Eskimo, and he just doesn't do well with new people. I've taken him to 2 of my older groomers with small problems each time. A friend recommended Stacy and she takes such great care of both of my boys. The Eskimo, she knows how to handle him and the problems I encountered at other shops just were gone working with Stacy and Marco. Thank you both! Also, my Lhasa is prone to ear infections which has been a problem with other groomer shops. Never been a problem here. Hopefully that was just an isolated incident with the other yelper cause I love this shop. read more

I was kind of surprised to read a few negative posts on Pollyanna's, as I have used Pollyanna's for about the last 20 years and I have had great luck with all 4 of my dogs going there. Stacey grooms my guys because they are big (GSD and Malamute) and while no dog runs in the door to be groomed, my dogs have always had a good experience there, come home beautiful and are generally ok with getting groomed. No fleas from there (they are on Comfortis) and no ear infections. As a matter of fact Stacey suggested I use cotton balls on my GSD to keep his ears clean between visits. While her mom may be a little eccentric with her mini cigar smoking, both ladies have never been anything but kind to the pups and I. If your in Coronado give them a try. I have a nine year old golden doodle. Golden doodles tend to get a lot of hair growing on them, and don't shed much, so their hair just gets, well, big, i suppose. It tangles together a little bit and mats slightly if you don't brush it once a week. I've taken my dog to this groomer for about two and a half years now, and sometimes we have a good experience, and the groomer does her job and provides useful tips and info, and that's when we have the younger lady. When the older lady, who I think is the owner, grooms the dog, she is terrible. She doesn't listen to what we say, doesn't know what looks good and what doesn't, complains, and never gets it right. Dog is slightly matted, this lady says, "I don't want to cut her hair cause it looks matted". We are talking a couple spots on her tail and back where the hair is tangled a bit but you could separate it with your fingers. Things like that come from her often. She doesn't seem to remember what you prefer on your dog like most groomers, and always messes up. Recently, she messed up drastically. Dog looks terrible. I like the other worker there, but because of the one who usually does it, I'm done here. read more
