I was craving Colombian food and came to pollos Mario. I always get the bandeja tipica ( featured in picture ) and it does not disappoint . I add the manzana soda - goes perfectly . My daughter had their consome ( yummy chicken soup ) , everything was delicious . This is a great Colombian choice .

Real Colombian food I love this restaurant :) Their soups are the best soups ever. Prices are fair and the service is good, very welcoming people. Always willing to help, they have outdoors seats which is nice for the season. They have typical Colombian food, like Bandeja Paisa, Sancocho, Ajiaco, Empanadas, etc. I have been in other Pollos Mario around Queens but for some reason this one is one of the best, the food taste better here. Once in a blue moon I order delivery here but the few times that I have ordered with them the food has been hot and fresh!

It's been a while since my last visit to this location after a day of drinking we decided to get some food here. Drinks we went with some Aguila beer nice & cold great beer nice tasting. Appetizers we got some Chicken empanadas very good hot enough to burn your tongue so processed slowly lolll. Main dish we got the Breaded chicken since it's such a large dish we decide to share it, comes w fries, salad, rice & beans. The breaded Chicken has always been a favorite great piece of chicken lightly breaded good flavor fried yes but not greasy. Good tasting rice & beans, fries as well as the mixed salad nothing too crazy here with the salad very small. Simple decor, small location but nice amount of seating service was good, quick & prices are reasonable specially since u get such large portions great food worth the try.

So many options, super affordable. It is the place to go if you're looking to feed a large family with some good Spanish food. All of the locals come here and you will find the natives here grubbing on everything as well. I'm fairly surprised to find the wide selection of South American drinks that they offer here and also a big fan of trying everything out. You have to have to have to order the bandeja tipica because it is seriously a lot of flavors and crispy chicharon that has me salivating still. I wasn't in love with the chicken and rice because it was shredded up and mixed into my rice already. I felt like it was lacking a little bit of sauce for that matter, but the portion was so large that it really was something that you can save for later. Service was amazing. Staff was sweet and not racist at all which can be difficult to find in some ethnic restaurants. Big plus!

Friday night; so hungry and in the mood for some good fried fish! Called Pollos Mario and spike with a lady name Diana (I think). Asked twice for a well cooked (fried) red snapper and same with tostones. I don't care how much I have to pay for my food as long as is worth the price but how disappointed I was when I opened my order and saw that the fish was so soft, not the way I asked twice, and the tostones were soaked in oil. literally I had to put the fish in a pan to finish cooking it! Called the restaurant and spoke with the same lady who only asked surprised and only asked me if I wanted to speak with the manager! Chicken at this place is great but don't waste your money on the expensive fried fish ($26.00)

I tried to order lunch for my employees, but no one at the 86 street location spoke English. So I couldn't treat my staff to lunch.

The cream of chicken was to watery and it didn't taste good. Definitely not eating or ordering from that location.

Why 4 stars? Because these arepas were different, but enjoyable…read more --- --- --- To-date, I apparently have only had Venezuelan arepas and wasn't aware of how different Colombian arepas were. Colombian arepas (or at least the ones here) come with a sweet, corn tortilla and are more open faced: to be eaten with a fork. In the past, I've had flour tortillas that are designed more like a taco and eaten as a handheld. So despite the differences, I (and my friends) enjoyed our meal. Let the official record state, I ordered the arepas con queso with chorizo. We had plans to eat our way through Jackson Heights, but because a couple of the places we planned to visit were closed, we actually just mostly hung out here and enjoyed our arepas of the sweet and open-faced variety. It was a good afternoon.

This was my first time trying an arepa, and honestly it was one of the best introductions I could…read morehave asked for. Before this, if someone mentioned arepas, I probably would have confused them with pupusas, which I'd only seen at street fairs and thought of as more of a sweet item. I had no idea they came in savory versions too. I went with the carne asada arepa, and the beef was fresh, juicy, and cooked just right. It's so common for places to overcook little chunks of beef, but here it was perfect. Each arepa is big enough to split between two people, so the price feels very fair. The filling was generous, with beef packed inside and even overflowing out the sides. They also serve the arepas with a rack of five or six sauces to choose from. Some were spicy, and one had a sweet condensed milk flavor if you like a mix of sweet and savory. My go to ended up being this green mayonnaise sauce which I assumed was like some sort of a lime mayo, which added the perfect tartiness to the rich cheese filling.
