The inconsistency with this store is appalling. I went to eat lunch there Saturday with a friend. It took a moment for them to come up and even bother serving the customers in line. The chicken was amazing as well as the rice. I ordered a mango smoothie to go with my meal. I wish it was a bit sweeter like mangoes generally are. They seem to skimp on the portions of their cilantro lime sauce though. I then came here last night through the drive through, and when I got home, my chicken was BURNT to a crisp. It was horrendous. How on earth are you okay with serving your customers charred chicken? I barely had any decent chicken left to eat after picking off the burnt contents on it. It's a shame because I really do enjoy Pollo, but after the stark difference between ONE day, I'll just have to go elsewhere. read more

Sometimes you don't miss things until they're not readily available. Except, you know, I already knew I'd miss this chain given prior experience. Moving to Tallahassee, they have one of these at the university, but even then, options are limited and I never go there. Consequently while in Tampa, you know I had to get my Tropichop. I wound up ordering from Uber Eats as I was working from a hotel room and struggling big time with my work computer. I figured some comfort food wouldn't hurt. Ordered a regular-sized Tropichop with white rice and black beans, grilled chicken, and pieces of corn. It was downright delicious. Piping hot, just made, and it ultimately hit the spot. Now who knows when I will eat from this chain again. They've yet to franchise to Tallahassee much to my chagrin. read more

Pollo Tropical - What I ordered for lunch. - Latin American Near Me - Tampa, Florida

When visiting Florida every trip I am told the same thing you need to try this place Pollo tropical this last visit I was finally able to see what the hype is about they advertised citrus grilled chicken as their main dish They actually grill the chicken right in front of you and chop it to order which is unique The menu also offers chorizo and pork chop as well as rice and beans and desserts I got the variety powder and it was very delicious they also have different sauces to try that are very unique I like the pineapple rum the best However this location needs some attention the bathroom was horrible they were literally missing the toilet seat and it was very dirty the staff seemed overwhelmed but we're doing their best to make sure the orders went out properly the trash is overflowing and the tables were very clean you can tell that staffing is an issue here overall it was a good experience and I will try them again hopefully they can fix the concerns read more

The whole grilled chicken is great tasting and great priced. One of the few foods that everyone in the family agrees that it is great. Service was fast and friendly. The restaurant was very clean. Thank you. read more

After a prior BAD experience with the pollo tropical in Brandon. I called this one before driving that way and it was great, can't remember who I spoke to but she said we are open until 10 and we serve food until 10. So we drove up there and ordered 1/2 chicken with rice and beans and let me tell you it was great. Delicious food and portion. I would visit this location again. As I am driving back home I get a call from pollo tropical and it was the same lady asking me if I was going to grab my food I told her yes I have my food and I'm driving back home too. I was honestly surprised how great and thoughtful that was of her. 10/10 recommend this location. Worth the drive !! read more

Being from Los Angeles, I'm pretty picky when it comes to food spots, but Pollo Tropical really impressed me. The food is fresh, flavorful, and different from anything back home. Jeimy, the cashier, was super friendly and made the experience even better with her great attitude and attention to detail. It's always nice when you find a place that delivers good food and great service. Definitely worth checking out. read more

Today I am using their drive through for ordering. It was rain cat and dog. I am happy to see the kiosk order cover section at their drive through without get wet while order. It was without delay at the pick up window to paid and received the order. I order the half chicken special. It was well cook with good marinated sauce. The marinated went to skin deep. But flavorful. The rice and bean also good to have. The order was well conducted. Food is good for the drive through and accurate with the order. read more

I wondered why they had low star ratings , well after eating there we now know . My husband had to return his Cuban for the lack of mustard and the fatty pork inside the sandwich. The black beans lack flavor in my dish . The chicken is excellent and the sauces . They are about the only consistent item they offer . read more

Very bad service very rude too no one was at the window would not recommend WE HAD TOO WAIT OVER 20 MINUTE'S LIKE WHY!??!!?!!!?

Once again this franchise disappoints. The pork was nothing but gummy fat and a large order of plantains which they charge $4 for, is scarce. Also whe I wS in drive thru, the wait was terribly and ridiculously long. As I waited, I looked inside and where they stack the rice, there was a bag open just sitting there. I sure hope they close it at night. They seriously need new management. read more

Tried to use the family meal coupon at the Fowler location today and the cashier working pretended the coupon didn't work and was already redeemed yet rang up the people in front of me. The manager came over and co-signed this behavior by literally doing, saying nothing, and offering no solution. Funny, because I work with their company and am able to pull the branch managers names at the drop of a hat.... I'm not into transforming into a Karen like that but when a coupon magically works with the people before you, and then the cashier loudly screams that they are tired of doing free chicken coupons, and corporate needs to put a stop to it. Yeah, no.... That money doesn't even come out of their pockets. If the company wanted to make people stop using the coupons believe me they wouldn't send any more out. Go to this location at your own risk! They are rude, unprofessional, and nasty for literally no reason-unprovoked. read more

Props to Pollo Tropical for always appreciating their veterans and community. I went in today for their monthly Military Appreciation Day - free 1/4 chicken platter with 2 sides for active duty and veterans. There was nobody else in the drive-thru when I went, so the service was very fast. I received my food quickly with no problems. The food wasn't bad but definitely nothing to go crazy about. Can't really complain though when the whole meal was free. Thanks again! read more

Pollo Tropical - 1/4 Chicken Platter With Kernel Corn and Caesar Salad - Latin American Near Me - Tampa, Florida

The cashier and the manager was ghetto as hell. I asked for pineapple sauce and she told me that they didn't have it. The next customer asked for it and she gave it to her. They are unprofessional. The dining room is dirty and so are the workers. No one looked neat. None of the guys had haircuts or were clean shaven. One of the workers had her kids there while she was working and they were running around being loud. The cover was not on the soup and the cashier had an attitude when I asked to purchase more rice. I will never come here again and I love Pollo Tropical. This location is thrash and the entire staff need to be fired! The only good thing is that the food was good! read more

I've been in many different Pollo Tropical restaurants in Florida and I can tell you that (5101 Fowler Ave) is the best one I've tried. They always have fresh food and excellent service! Every time I go there I really enjoy it! I have a pollo tropical restaurant right next my house, but I do prefer drive 20 minutes away to Fowler to get fresh food. Nice ambiance! More than 5 stars for u guys. Thanks read more

NEVER AGAIN, Tried this place 3 times, Always disappointed. The abilities of their cooks just don't even come close to the promise of their advertising. This time paid $21.00 for a half slab of scrawny dried out ribs, No sign of the meaty perfectly cooked ribs slathered in the much vaunted Guava barbeque sauce. Not even a drop of the sauce on the side ! What was included in my drive thru order, was a dried out inedible, factory style dinner roll. The dog turned his nose up at it. First time I fell prey to the TV ads was for the Ceviche. Same story, a lot of money for 4 shrimp. Then there were the wings. Rubbery undercooked crap. I do so want this place to be good . It is such a good premise. Maybe it's only the Fowler Ave. location, But I have learned my lesson. Never again! read more

Food was ok at this location. Bland wIth the exception of their signature sauces. My portions were small and the white meat was so dry that dust has more moisture I'm sure. It seems like there is always some issue when I go here, one week cash only card machine does not work, the next week whole register is down, the next week no grilled chicken available. I love Pollo Tropical and I think they are usually the best fast food out there. EXCEPT this location! I went back tonight to give them a second chance after a disaster from our first visit. (Messed up our order, missing items) What a mistake! First of all, they need to get trained on taking orders. He couldn't speak clearly or in complete sentences and had a hard time responding back. We sat there in silence till we repeatedly asked to repeat what he said. Then he tells us there's no chicken on the grill. We drove up 45 minutes before they closed so I think that's plenty of time for people to order food and still get good service. We are done with this location. Sadly, this location makes this food chain look bad. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

This evening we ordered the family dinner there were no plantains and no rolls included although they are sold as part of the meal. I do love the taste of the food from this restaurant however I've only been there three times and every single time they have managed to mess up my simple order! The family meal.... I think what makes it even worse than the fact that they messed something up that basically just comes with five items is the fact that they will not pick up their phone during business hours or any hours for that matter. Now I know what one could say you should check your order every single time you go there well I do I asked them before they hand it through the window you checked it everything's there yes ma'am so after working my 12 hour nursing shift and then go home 38 minute drive to sit down and have dinner with my family and there's items missing do not go to this establishment it's just not worth the money because they don't give you the items that you buy read more
