First time trying pollo regio, Blanca at the drive thru was very friendly and helpful! My food was being made fresh, she offered me a drink while waiting! I'm excited to come back again soon! Food smelled so good the entire way home!!

Have been passing this business on 1960 for the last 5yrs not thinking to stop. I'm more of a beef than chicken person but this place grills their chicken to perfection. Finally stopped recently and they def did not disappoint! Half chicken dinner 4.7/5 The grilled chicken has the right amount of seasoning and I must say it is a fairly juicy grilled chicken. The green sauce is creamy perfection and orange is peppery spice. Rice is good and charro beans are also great! The onion also is a nice touch to the whole taco.

I have been coming to this location for years! 9 years off an on. Back I the day you could get that half chicken with two sides hot sauce and a drink for like 8.50. That same meal will cost about 12.00. Prices went up! Oh it comes with tortillas as well. I think they should offer something smaller than a half chicken. That's definitely a meal for two people. Unless you are really hungry. The chicken is grilled to perfection. Very flavorful and juicy. I am a fan. I also like their rice. I'll take their green sauce mix it in when the rice add some sour cream and you have an amazing meal. If you are in the area I suggest you stop by. Definitely better than fast food. Good way to get your protein in for the day. The staff is really friendly. Sometimes they will speak Spanish only.

MMAAAANNNNNN.....WTF do they be putting in this food!! It's so gosh dang delicious!! Like every single thing is flavorful. These charro beans mixed with those habanero pickled onions mixed in MY GAWD!! Make sure to get those habanero onions. They come on the side. Just ask for them. But, I swear somebody's abuela back there lol !!! I always yet the 1/2 chicken, double charro beans and corn tortillas!!! And why is the chicken so juicy!! I like they way they wrap it in that paper. Dang you Pollo Regio....y'all silently killing the game. Pollo campero, and El pollo loco need to take some lessons. Straight up!!

Cream cheese filled churro

My coworker friend got me addicted to this place ever since she had me try some of her extra tacos. The lunch tacos comes with 5 tacos. You can mix your meat choices. I prefer the corn over flour tortillas, but both are good! They double the corn tortillas. The tacos come with cilantro, grilled onions, diced onions, and limes. We ordered the taco party platter for her bridal shower party at the office. We got the chicken, beans, rice, tortilla chips, red and green salsa, cilantro/onion/grilled onions/limes, and flour tortillas...plenty of food! We had so much left over after 9 of us. Everything is delicious. The tortilla chips are thicker and fried. The seasoning on them is perfect. You can eat it by itself or dip it in their salsas. The red is my favorite. I tried the cream cheese churro recently, and it's like eating a donut or funnel cake with a bit of filling. I'm so glad this place is near the office. You can order online, in store, or through the drive thru. They also deliver!

My order: 5 piece spicy with Laynes sauce and ranch it ran about $14 for the meal. Chicken- very fresh they were definitely made to order for us. Very crunchy and juicy. Seasoning/Spice level- wasn't too spicy. More on the mild heat. I'm very sensitive to salty food these were highly salty. That was my only critique bc other than that they were delicious. They are also real tenders unlike canes which seem to be strips of chicken breast. Laynes sauce was decent. I tasted the black pepper. Paprika and definitely celery salt in there. Those note were very up front. The ranch was just ranch lol. The meal came with fries and some Texas toast. They also have shakes that's looked good but didn't try one this time. Now the story: Ok wow this place was an eye opener and had me highly curious my friend said u got to try Layne's chicken I'm like I had canes before. He said no Laynes. I'm like I never heard of that before. So we went since it sparked my interest we went and on the ride there I was wondering what came first? A new "chicken or the egg?" Thing. Lol. So I looked it up on AI and sure enough Laynes was in 94 and originated in college station TX. And canes. In 96 in NOLA. As we pull up to this location on 132 E Airtex Dr. you would never believe what was right next to this place. Yessss A Mother flipping Canes lol. I'm like are we on a batttle ground right now. lol. They literally have the same menu. And are neighbors. So now it was even more of a question which one is better? So it you are trying to decide: LAYNES - actual chicken tenters. Crunchy. Juicy. Way more flavor. Even though highly salty. Maybe it was just the spicy ones. I don't try the regular tenders. The do offer shakes here as well looked good but didn't try them. Always a plus for some shakes. Laynes is definitely a place to go to. Canes, Who's ur daddy? The answer to that is Laynes lol

Let me start off by saying I use to go to the original Layne's in College Station a few years back…read morewhen my daughter was at Texas A&M and it was one block from her apt. The chicken fingers were a lot larger and I think hand battered, but definitely made to order. With that said all chicken finger/tender places (Cane's and Zaxby's) all went to way smaller size fingers/tenders around Covid time. That is my only complaint is the size of the fingers/tenders. Not sure if Layne's still hand batters or if they now use pre battered frozen product. Couldn't tell by looks. Size went down and price went up lol...3 piece spicy is what I ordered and $9.49 Hot and tasted great, good spice and I got the jalapeño ranch sauce..nice kick and sauce was great. Place is brand new and looks fresh and modern and clean. I will return but on a day that I am really hungry I'll have to order the 4 piece but at $11.40 it's pretty high.

Not without strain ofcourse, I was just a little distracted with other pursuits and unwilling to make the drive to Humble. My first visit to the Spring location, I'm excited to announce that Chick Houz and I have reunited, and the meal was delicious. We ordered the family meal (the chicken special), both desserts :), and ofcourse a chicha morada. The whole chicken plus three sides was enough to feed four (and likely another), and while we were expecting maximum flavor from the chicken, the yucca fries were a beautiful, crispy, soft, comforting surprise. If I could, I'd eat them daily. That being said, I'd honestly reorder everything. If you've yet to give them a visit, know that they're worth droppin

The restaurant itself is cozy and inviting, with plenty of seating. The menu offers a solid variety without being overwhelming. Our food came out quickly, hot, and smelled amazing right from the start. I ordered the Lomo Saltado--tender beef sautéed with red onions and Roma tomatoes, served with white rice and crispy French fries, topped with a touch of cilantro. It was very flavorful and satisfying. I also had a cup of chicha, the traditional drink made from purple Peruvian corn, and it was nicely done. We also tried the Brasa Burrito, which was packed with pulled rotisserie chicken, queso fresco, green onions, cilantro aioli, and a bit of fried rice (chaufa-style), along with black beans, Mexican crema, crispy onions, romaine lettuce, and Roma tomatoes on the side, plus your choice of sauce. A unique and tasty combination. The rotisserie chicken itself was excellent--juicy and well-seasoned. We had a half chicken (all white meat) served with rice chaufa and French fries, which made for a hearty and delicious meal. Our server was attentive throughout, checking in on us and making sure we had everything we needed. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. While it wasn't as authentic as what I'm used to, it was still a very enjoyable meal--especially for Texas.
